The Elder Scrolls franchise is known for its unique amount of choice, and one of the most important choices in the series is choosing what type of armor and weapons you want to equip during your adventures. There are many different unique armor sets that can be obtained in each Elder Scrolls game, and each of these armor sets has a distinct appearance and effect that makes them worth acquiring.

These are some of the best armor sets that the Elder Scrolls franchise has to offer and the reasons that they should return in a future Elder Scrolls video game.

10 Deathbrand Armor

The deathbrand armor set was first introduced in Skyrim’s Dragonborn DLC, and it adds many different unique effects while having an interesting appearance that has horns on the helmet and a light blue color scheme.

This armor increases the player’s stamina, carry weight, dual-wielding damage, and even allows the wearer to breathe underwater. With all of these different effects, the deathbrand armor is a fan-favorite armor set that should definitely make a reappearance in The Elder Scrolls 6.

9 Ancient Falmer Armor

Ancient Falmer armor was crafted a long time before the events of Skyrim, and it is one of the best-looking armor sets in The Elder Scrolls franchise to date. Although this armor set only appears in the Dawnguard DLC, it is incredibly memorable both because of how it is obtained and its appearance.

The ancient Falmer armor should return in The Elder Scrolls 6 because it is a historical relic that reminds the races of Tamriel of what the Falmer once was, and its appearance is very distinct.

8 Jester’s Clothes

Everybody loves a jester, which is why the character Cicero was one of the most beloved characters in Skyrim despite being incredibly evil. The jester’s clothes are a copy of Cicero’s clothing, and they grant special sneak bonuses for the wearer.

One of the best reasons why the jester’s clothes should return in The Elder Scrolls 6 is because it would be so easy to add back in since jesters are a relatively common occurrence throughout Tamriel. This armor set could be easily acquired by either being bought from a merchant or found in a unique location in The Elder Scrolls 6.

7 Dawnguard Armor

The dawnguard armor truly makes the wearer feel like they are a knight, and it is completely different from any other armor set in any Elder Scrolls game. The dawnguard armor could grant a special damage protection bonus from attacks from vampires in the upcoming game.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the dawnguard armor will return in The Elder Scrolls 6 since the Dawnguard faction isn’t particularly relevant outside of the land of Skyrim. However, it is always possible that it could return as an easter egg or during a side quest.

6 Dwarven Armor

The Dwarven race disappeared long before the events of the Elder Scrolls franchise; however, their influence is still relevant during the modern Elder Scrolls games. One of the relics that the Dwarves left behind is their unique weapons and armor sets.

Dwarven armor is one of the strongest types of armor in Skyrim, and one look at its shiny appearance makes any heavy armor user quickly fall in love with it. Hopefully, dwarven armor will return in The Elder Scrolls 6, and it is incredibly likely that it will, considering how important the Dwarves are in the history of the Elder Scrolls franchise.

5 Nightingale Armor

Nightingale armor is an armor set that is acquired during the Thieves Guild questline in Skyrim. This shadowy set of armor is very different from other types of stealth armor because it completely masks the wearer’s face, and it even has a cape on the back of it.

Nightingale armor is one of the coolest light armor sets in any Elder Scrolls game, and it deserves to make a reappearance in the next entry of the franchise since so many players favor it.

4 Dragonbone Armor

One set of armor that should definitely return in The Elder Scrolls 6 is dragonbone armor. Although dragonbone armor wouldn’t make sense in an Elder Scrolls game that exists before Skyrim since all of the dragons were extinct, it would make sense in a sequel to Skyrim since dragons will most likely still be around in some capacity.

Dragonbone armor is incredibly hard to smith, but perhaps it could instead be a regular armor set that can be found in dungeons in The Elder Scrolls 6.

3 Ahzidal’s Armor

Ahzidal armor is another set that was added to Skyrim with the Dragonborn DLC. It has the appearance of ancient Nord armor; however, the special effects that it grants are more unique than most armor found in The Elder Scrolls franchise.

The two most notable effects that this armor set grant is the chance to paralyze enemies when they attack you and the ability to walk on top of water. These two effects alone make this armor set one of the best types of equipment in Skyrim, which is why it deserves a place in The Elder Scrolls 6.

2 Armor Of The Old Gods

Armor of the old Gods is an armor set that is themed around the Forsworn that reside in The Reach. This armor set is classified as light armor, and it focuses mostly on skills that a stealth character would use.

There are many different types of stealth armor sets that should return The Elder Scrolls 6, but the armor of the old gods is one of the best of these types because of its unique design and powerful bonuses.

1 Ebony Mail

The ebony mail isn’t a regular piece of ebony armor. Instead, it is a Daedric artifact that deals damage towards enemies when the user is within their reach. This effect is completely unique to the ebony mail, and the effect makes it much more powerful than other armor sets in Skyrim. You also move quietly while wearing this armor.

The Elder Scrolls 6 will need powerful armor sets that are worth obtaining, and the ebony mail is the perfect candidate since it is so powerful and can be obtained during a Daedric quest. Hopefully, the ebony mail makes it into the next game in the Elder Scrolls franchise.
