Immortals: Fenyx Rising is one of the newest open-world RPGs on consoles, and the lords of Olympus have never looked better. In this beautiful marriage of open-world and Zeldalike, players explore a realm of gods and monsters on a mission to save the Olympians from the evil of Typhon.

The game is a gorgeous fantasy epic, but supposing one has encountered every god, solved every puzzle, and checked every box to complete the main campaign? Fortunately, the gaming world is full of brand new adventures to scratch that explorative itch. Find a new realm of myths and magic in these fantasy titles.

10 Dragon Quest XI

Turn-based JRPGs might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying the cozy, magical charm of the Dragon Quest series. Dragon Quest XI has all the standard high-fantasy tropes, kings, queens, dragons, spells, etc., but it’s like a warm hug wrapped in a wizard’s robe.

The plot is simple, lead a party of adventurers against a dark lord and save the day. But, as they say, it’s the journey and not the destination. It’s through simplicity that players find a new realm to explore.

9 Jotun

Supposing Greek mythology isn’t something one is looking for. If Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla or PS4’s God of War isn’t at hand, players might want to consider picking up Jotun. Jotun is a Zeldalike that takes place in the realms of Norse mythology.

As a fallen warrior, players must hack and slash their way through the realms of frost giants, monsters, and other mythological figures straight out of a Viking saga. A typical top-down action title, but one with a very unique flavor and visual style.

8 Titan Quest

If Diablo and Clash of the Titans were thrown in a blender, Titan Quest would be the result. A warning to any casual gamer, this journey through the realms of Greek mythology is an investment. Like Diablo, players will put a lot of time and building into their characters if they are truly to experience this realm.

With multiple combinations to suit one’s playstyle, the game is certainly versatile. Players can spend hours exploring masteries and weapons alone on this odyssey through the ancient world.

7 Skyrim

Skyrim will always be up for discussion when open-world fantasies are on the table. But can one really be blamed for bringing it up? Honestly, the title could firmly be considered one of the greatest RPG experiences of all time.

With availability across almost all current consoles and a reputation of extreme versatility, there is no wrong way to play this expansive title. Simply put, being the Dragonborn will never get old.

6 Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

Similar to the Dragon Quest series, Dragon’s Dogma relies on a metric ton of fantasy tropes and elements to bring its world to life. But is that really such a bad thing? If one is going to enjoy a fantasy title, why not go all the way with it?

Dungeons will be explored, dragons will be slain, and all manner of familiar magical characters will be met on this journey from Capcom. Skyrim it is not, but it’s still an immersive world to delve into after defeating Typhon.

5 Hades

If, like so many others, players enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek banter of Zeus and Prometheus, they’ll definitely appreciate the similar approach to the storytelling in Hades. Along with its themes of mythology and familiar monsters, players of Immortals will feel right at home.

While it lacks the open-world nature, this dungeon crawler is practically slathered in mythological themes from the get-go. A little Diablo, a little Zelda, a little God of War, what’s not to like in this adventure?

4 Raji: An Ancient Epic

Raji takes a different approach to its aesthetic by drawing from Hindu mythology than the typical Greek. But still, this hack-and-slash Saga across the realm will definitely grab the attention of any action game fan.

As the titular Raji, players must duke it out with a host of gods, demons, and other hazards to rescue her little brother. With the aid of a selection of deities, Raji is able to hack, slash, and traverse her way through the epic trials that stand in her way.

3 Genshin Impact

Don’t be deceived by the free-to-play status of this anime-inspired open-world. Genshin Impact is slowly starting to become one of the largest experiences available. With all the fun of a typical open adventure but without the price tag, this title definitely deserves a little attention.

The plot is minimal and falls into a few anime tropes, but the combat and exploration are certainly worth talking about, especially with the cavalcade of characters to travel the world with. After all, it’s dangerous to go alone.

2 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Of course, there wouldn’t be an Immortals without BotW. The game practically wears its Zelda influence proudly in its design, but why not return to Hyrule one more time after slicing through the gorgons and griffins of ancient Greece?

If gamers haven’t picked up this expansive and immersive adventure, they have no idea what they’re missing. With an upcoming sequel, why not go in for one last quest?

1 Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

If they’re looking for something with a more realistic approach, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey might be the best alternative. The ancient epic aesthetic, swords and sandals combat, and sense of adventure are all present and accounted for. It’s perfect to act as a chaser to Immortals.

As perhaps the other most obvious influence on Ubisoft’s colorful adventure, is it any wonder it should come with such recommendation? Though it lacks saturation in the fantasy department, it still maintains its mythological flavor.
