Fans had anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 to be the game of the year based on graphics, gameplay, and unique story. Unfortunately, it has had so many issues that Sony removed the game from the PlayStation store altogether and has even issued refunds due to the many game-breaking bugs in the game. No one can deny that it is one of the biggest flops in gaming in recent years, especially since they have had eight years to perfect it.

This disappointment has many players looking to the future as they see all that 2021 has to offer in terms of new games. However, they hope that some of the top-rated titles won’t make the same mistakes that CD Projekt RED did when developing their game!

10 Far Cry 6 (February 18)

Far Cry 6 will be available on every platform except Nintendo Switch and its official 2021 release date is February 18, 2021. It features a leader who uses extreme methods to bring wealth back to the island nation of Yara as he grooms his son to take his place. This game could flop if it doesn’t create an epic story, and its expansion on multiple endings could either make it great or be its downfall.

9 Halo Infinite (December)

The last Halo game was released back in 2010, which means Halo Infinite has been a long time coming. It is an Xbox exclusive, but will also be available on PC as well and it is set to be released in December 2021.  You will play as Master Chief and it is a sequel to Halo 5: Guardians. Hopefully, this game will top the charts based on its current specs and the large fan base ready to jump into this franchise once again.

8 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (TBD)

The last Stalker game was released back in 2009 and fans were losing hope that another one would be released, but news from the company states they plan to release in 2021. No exact date has been set, although it is another Xbox and PC exclusive that will be available on Game Pass from the start. This throws you into Chernobyl in an alternative world where strange happenings occur and your goal is to survive.

7 Ghostwire: Tokyo (TBD)

Ghostwire: Tokyo is set in the city and the premise of the game is that supernatural forces rule while 99% of the population has disappeared. It is up to you to save the city using your abilities, and it is sure to be epic as it was made with next-gen consoles in mind.

Not much is known about its exact release date except you can expect to see it sometime in 2021. Unfortunately, this is a PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive, so Xbox owners won’t be able to play this amazing game, assuming it doesn’t flop like Cyberpunk 2077.

6 Horizon Forbidden West (TBD)

PlayStation has exclusive rights to this game as it is set to be played on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The release date in 2021 is still to be determined, but this game will introduce you to a new open world for Aloy to explore. There will be new machines and lands to discover featuring an America set far in the future.

5 Monster Hunter Rise (March 26)

The Monster Hunter series has been a huge hit on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, which is why they decided to make a new game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. It has an official release date of March 26 and fans of this franchise are rushing out to buy this console in anticipation. There will be new monsters, armor, and weapons, as well as a new buddy known as a Palamute who is ridable.

4 Fable 4 (TBD)

Fable 4 is expected to be released in 2021 for Xbox and PC and it is an open-world RPG. You will be able to build towns, play with your friends, and even travel amongst time and different planets.

There will be no guns, but this is part of the charm of the game. Fans hope it won’t be a flop and only time will tell what the final review of this game will be.

3 Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 (TBD)

There are many rumors about this game that fans hope are true but they won’t find out until later into 2021 when this game grows closer to completion. It will be playable on the Nintendo Switch, although some people expect it might only be available on Nintendo’s upcoming console. Zelda has a new haircut and she is traversing a dungeon with Link, but beyond that, not much has been revealed about this upcoming game.

2 Perfect Dark (TBD)

The original Perfect Dark game debuted back in 2000 and it is a cult-classic which is why so many are excited. It is expected to be released late in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch and the premise of the story revolves around two groups who have differing opinions on alien tech in their possession. This game is not a remaster, as it has a whole new story, so it will be interesting to see how this game progresses in the coming months.

1 Hogwarts Legacy (TBD)

Harry Potter fans have been asking for a wizarding game for a while now, and the trailer for Hogwart’s Legacy delivered. It will be an open world game for players to explore with plenty of mounts and spells to have fun with. The trailer does put in your mind that you choose your own destiny, whether good or evil, and it would be really disappointing for fans if this game had as many bugs as Cyberpunk 2077.
