All gamers know the pain of trying to pick their next game. With the myriad excellent options, it’s easy to spend all of your gaming time just surfing trailers. If you’re a Myers-Briggs ENFJ personality type, this kind of choice can be as paralyzing as often as it can be fun.

ENFJs are naturally sociable leaders, excellent at marshaling their friends into an online gaming experience. They are not ruthless or competitive and prefer to manage everyone so they are working together in harmony to reach a mutual goal. Games with a party, or multi-player games, are more likely to appeal to ENFJ’s personality more than a lone wolf story. But ENFJs do not view their comrades simply as tools — job or class systems alone are not what will endear parties to ENFJs. They deeply care about the emotional state of others and their motivations, so they will require good sidequests with fleshed-out characters.

ENFJs are also positive bunnies who see the world as a beautiful place that is worth saving. Social justice is important, but no doom and gloom here. For an ENFJ, happy endings are a must. If you’re an ENFJ (or not) and stuck for something that will get those pleasure centers firing, check these games out!

10 Coffee Talk

Coffee Talk is a lovely little indie visual novel and restaurant sim with a diverse and lovable cast of characters. The player controls the barista, and gameplay mostly involves reading dialogue that delves into the inner worlds of the fantastical characters while serving them coffee.

ENFJs are naturally concerned with the wellbeing of their friends, which makes them good listeners and apt to enjoy hearing about the trials and tribulations of the coffee shop’s customers. They get a positive hit off of meeting their friends’ needs, so serving up the right steaming beverage to help perk up a character’s day is right up an ENFJ’s alley. Coffee Talk is available on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

9 Golf With Your Friends

Golf With Your Friends is exactly what it sounds like: an inventive multiplayer virtual mini-golf game. It’s the perfect frustrating party game for friend group game nights.

As natural leaders, ENFJs are likely to be the ones who corral the rest of the friend group into new online activities. Their diplomatic nature is also likely to come in handy when smoothing over any mini-golf competitiveness, and getting the most group fun out of this game. GWYF is available on a ton of platforms, including PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but cross-platform play is not currently supported.

8 Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy VII holds a special place in the hearts of many JRPG fans. The Final Fantasy VII Remake managed to capitalize on this nostalgia, and also drew many new fans into its embrace with the stunning updated graphics, extended character development, and revamped battle system.

ENFJs excel at managing groups of people to accomplish a mutual goal by bringing everyone’s individual strengths together. Between managing each player’s distinct style in the combat system and managing Cloud’s wayward romantic interests, this game is perfectly suited to an ENFJ’s strengths. FF7R is available on PS4 and PS5.

7 Hades

The indie game Hades is a 2D isometric, story-driven roguelike and one of the best games to come out of 2020. This 2021 DICE Awards Game of the Year winner tells the fragmented story of Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to break his way out of the Underworld with the help of his relatives on Olympus.

Meeting the enormous cast of gods and managing how their powers interact is likely to be appealing to an ENFJ’s managerial side. But the real draw comes from Zagreus’ do-gooder side-quests; ENFJs can’t resist saving the day for a friend in need, and neither can good ol’ Zag. Hades is available so far on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.

6 Overcooked And Overcooked 2

The Overcooked games are an amazingly fun way to ruin every one of your relationships. Best in couch-coop mode, Overcooked involves cooperating and communicating with your fellow chefs to create complicated recipes under a tight deadline in various interesting, and maddening, locales.

ENFJs will love a party game, especially one that has everyone operating on the same side. Their intuitive understanding of others’ emotions and diplomatic methods of leadership are key skills that will come in handy to diffuse any frustrations and ensure that the game stays fun for everyone. Overcooked and Overcooked 2 are available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

5 It Takes Two

It Takes Two is a gorgeous action-adventure coop game (both local and online) with a great story. Two divorcing parents are transformed into doll versions of themselves and must complete a variety of puzzles and challenges in order to fix their relationship and turn back into themselves.

The story of fixing a relationship through a fantastical situation will feed into ENFJs’ desire to emotionally heal everyone, and also their sense of fun and adventure. Plus, the real-world coop element of this game will appeal to ENFJs’ social nature. It Takes Two is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.

4 The Sims 4

Basically everyone knows the Sims; the EA franchise is one of the most popular among casual and hardcore gamers alike. Grow your neighborhood, build your favorite Sim’s dream life, or do something much more sinister — the Sims offers a chance to play God with a cast of your own choosing.

ENFJs are unlikely to be Sims torturers; in the real world, one of the things ENFJs love the most is being able to provide for the needs of their loved ones. Helping their Sims achieve peak self-actualization may fulfill some deep emotional needs of ENFJs (particularly in times of isolation). The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.

3 Arcade Spirits

Arcade Spirits is a visual novel and social sim with a sweet romantic element if you’re so inclined to take advantage of it. Otherwise, this game features a well-crafted story, charming dialogue, and a wonderfully diverse cast of characters. It packs a hefty nostalgic punch that will get anyone who remembers arcades right in the feels.

ENFJs love a story where friendship saves the day; playing as the uniting force of a ragtag group of underdogs puts them right in their element. The social sim element is likely to meet the extraverted needs of this personality type, even though it’s a single-player game. Arcade Spirits is available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

2 Wide Ocean, Big Jacket

Wide Ocean, Big Jacket is a lovely little indie game about camping with your friends and family. It’s a 3D walking sim that doesn’t tax the player but offers a heartwarming and possibly familiar experience augmented by witty dialogue.

ENFJs aren’t “all work and no play” personality types — they know how to have a fun and relaxing time with friends. Wide Ocean, Big Jacket is sure to fill that extrovert need and remind players of a good time. WOBJ is available on PC, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch.

1 Persona 5 And Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 is a combination of social sim and JRPG that follows a group of justice-minded teens as they expose baddies, collect Personas, and forge friendships. Set against the backdrop of a super-cool and slightly-delightfully-seedy interpretation of Tokyo, the aesthetics of this game are as amazing as the gameplay.

A game that combines delving into the psyches of twisted bad guys for the purposes of exacting justice by night, and managing relationships with your friends by day is already perfect for ENFJs dual drives of saving the world and making sure their friends are okay. It’s just icing on the ENFJ cake that the battle system consists in large part of understanding the motivations of the demon-like shadows and potentially sparing them. This game was made for ENFJs. P5R is currently available only on PS4.
