Ghost-type Pokémon are a favorite type of many fans of the franchise. Their spiritual attacks have Pokémon falling to their knees and fainting with only one hit. It’s easy to see why Ghost-type Pokémon are so popular because everyone loves a good spooky story!

This list will cover 10 of the most interesting Ghost-types that were unfortunately quickly forgotten after their respective generation. From grassy anchors to giant golem creatures, get ready for a spooky story because these are the 10 most forgettable Ghost-type Pokémon that no player can remember!

10 Misdreavus

This Ghost-type Pokémon was introduced in Gen-II, and it’s quite a little cutie. Misdreavus has a good design; however, it is unfortunately very forgettable. When it comes into contact with a Dusk Stone it has the potential to evolve into it’s one and only evolution, Mismagius.

Johto trainers like this Pokémon because it’s one of the only Ghost-type Pokémon available in the region. Perhaps it will get a regional exclusive form in the future and gain back its prominence in the series.

9 Spiritomb

Spiritomb is a collection of souls, and its creepy origin story gives many fans chills. Its spiritual looking head is purple, and underneath it is a stone that it stands on all the time to center itself.

Spiritomb has a menacing-looking on its face, and it scares both Pokémon and people alike. Trainers need to be careful catching this Pokémon if they don’t want to be terrified every time it comes out to fight. Spiritomb is very weird, and trainers need to be cautious around it. Luckily it’s very forgettable!

8 Drifloon

Drifloon is a purple balloon, and it was introduced in Gen-IV along with the Sinnoh region. It has a dual Ghost/Flying-type, and this is not a surprise because it’s a balloon, and balloons float through the air.

When this balloon reaches level 28 it evolves into Drifbilm. This ghost is creepy because although it appears as what would usually be an inanimate object, its actually a possessed balloon with a lost soul, which is a horrifying concept.

7 Frillish

Frillish was introduced in Unova, and it has a description of the floating Pokémon. This weird Pokémon is especially forgettable because most players assume it’s only a Water-type when in reality, it actually has a secondary Ghost-type.

Its body is blue or pink and very peculiar looking, it’s also an aquatic creature which is to be expected because of its Water-type. Players will want to catch this interesting creature if they have a fondness for either Ghost or Water-types.

6 Shuppet

Shuppet is a cute Pokémon that was introduced in Gen-III. This Pokémon apparently has a cloth over its head that conceals its body, which is a very weird thing for even a ghost to do. Once Shuppet turns level 37 or higher it evolves into the more powerful Pokémon Banette.

Shuppet is a cute ghost, and that can’t be said of many creepy Ghost-type. Ghost-type trainers will definitely want to befriend one of these little sheet ghosts should they ever visit the Hoenn region and run into one.

5 Yamask

Yamask is a unique but forgettable Ghost-type Pokémon introduced in the fifth generation of the franchise. Trainers that seek this Pokémon should definitely be careful because it likes to pull pranks on its enemies.

Although Yamask is one of the most forgettable Unova Pokémon it also has a Galarian version introduced in Gen-VIII. Fans that are aware that this Pokémon exists enjoy using this trickster in battle; however, many fans don’t even remember that it was ever introduced. Hopefully, its Galar form will add some new interest to the unevolved ghost pokémon!

4 Golurk

It’s easy to forget that this Gen-V giant is actually half Ghost-type. Golurk has incredibly powerful physical strength, which is rare for a Ghost-type, and its evident that the part of him that uses physical attacks comes from his secondary Ground-type.

Golurk is one of the coolest Pokémon from Unova, and there aren’t many Pokémon that are quite as unique as it. If a trainer wants a giant Ground/Ghost-type beast, then Golurk is their only option. Unfortunately, this Pokémon is also extremely forgettable for most casual fans.

3 Phantump

Phantump is the counterpart Pokémon of Pumpkaboo, and it’s much more forgettable because most players don’t want to catch a tree stump. However, despite this Pokémon’s curious design choice, it’s still a powerful creature.

This tree stump is absolutely adorable, and whatever Ghost is inside, it does a wonderful job creating a powerful Pokémon. Trainers should catch this ghost if they’re looking for a dual Ghost/Grass-Type for their team.

2 Palossand

Palossand is a sandcastle with a red shovel weirdly sticking out from the top of his pointy head. Trainers don’t want this Pokémon because a haunted sandcastle ruins a day in the sun. It’s very weird to have a collection of sand in a Pokémon team, and other trainers will probably laugh.

Palossand is the evolution of Sandygast, and they’re both Ghost/Ground-types. A lot of trainers run into this Pokémon at the beach, and it ruins their entire trip!

1 Dhelmise

Dhelmise is a ship anchor with a steering wheel, and it even has a creepy eye on its body. Haunted objects are commonplace in the Pokémon universe; however, this one is just really creepy. Trainers will want to be careful around this monstrosity because it is quite the weird one.

Dhelmise is a dual Grass/Ghost-type Pokémon, and players can catch this powerful Pokémon in multiple regions throughout the Pokémon world. Its dual typing is very strong, and its move set is powerful. However, because it resembles an inanimate object so heavily it’s easily forgotten.
