Final Fantasy VII is full of memorable characters and Vincent Valentine is no exception. One of the most well-received characters despite being optional in the original game, Vincent has appeared in several cannon projects such as Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and in his own game Dirge of Cerberus.

Needless to say, he’s a popular dude and, as most know, with popularity comes memes. If anyone knows anything about Vincent Valentine, then these memes are sure to bust a few guts. Here are just a few hilarious memes of the shady, red-cloaked gunslinger.

10 The Similarities Are Uncanny

This is one of those things that can’t be unseen. Whoever did this is phenomenal at Photoshop. Something about it works and yet it feels like it shouldn’t. Though Keanu Reeves is an exceptional actor, something about him just doesn’t quite fit the character of Vincent. Besides, even as a voice actor in the Final Fantasy VII Remake, he would steal the show–sorry Cloud. Not like Vincent doesn’t do that anyway. Who knows, perhaps this could be a thing.

(That mustache, though)

9 Just…Don’t

Vincent Valentine not only shapeshifts into monsters of unspeakable horrors, but he also carries within him the materia of a god, Chaos. Though he tries to control the dark entity within him, it’s near impossible without a little help and even then it’s a constant burden for the guy. Though not a lot of Vincent’s past and current powers weren’t discussed in the original game, it was nice to explore more of his story in Dirge of Cerberus. Just goes to show that Vincent isn’t a character to be taken lightly.

8 Vincent Putting Down the Laws Of Chaos

Being the carrier of the classic Final Fantasy entity known as Chaos, Vincent is every bit the embodiment of chaos. In some ways, he could have made the perfect villain but everyone knows he’s got a kind heart beneath those foreboding eyes. Still, with a tragic past that includes lost love, near-death experiences and finally being experimented on, its all the ingredients the pot needs to cook up a good villain.

If Vincent was a villain, the Joker wouldn’t come close to the chaos he would cause.

7 The Boys Are Look’n Good

The ribbon is a good item to have equipped, no doubt but did players ever stop to think about what the characters would look like wearing it? Specifically, Vincent? Cloud has already gone through the cross-dressing phase so no big deal for him. Cid looks like he’s about to but a blood vessel but that’s how he always is. Vincent, though? Well, Vincent looks like he’s reconsidering joining the group despite the potential for revenge. Should’ve stayed in the coffin, buddy.

6 Vincent Being Too Cool For Technology

Vincent doesn’t seem to care for modern-day tech even though it was a thing when he was…young.  He seems to get along without a phone and when his anti-socialism does surface, he’s still cool enough for most people to brush it off and fall in love with him anyway. Marline might be the only one who is brave enough to confront him about his social neglect. Perhaps Vincent could cave in and get a phone just for her.

5 Don’t Even Think About It

Vincent isn’t just cool for his looks. This guy is immortal, can turn into monsters, is a carrier for Chaos, and wields an awesome gun that is never too far from him. This is not a guy anyone should be pissing off and if anyone does then be prepared for the consequences. They’re not going to be fun or easy to get through.

Vincent is one of the most deadly characters of the main party and it’s sad to think he almost didn’t make it into the original game. Thank god he did, though.

4 There’s No Competition

Vincent isn’t necessarily a vampire though he does look like one and he does sleep in a coffin. What he is, is a shape-shifting, victim of experimentation and vessel of a god. So, what’s the competition again? Edward Cullen is a permanent highschooler and Vincent Valentine has saved the world on numerous occasions. More than looking awesome in the sunlight, Vincent’s got more on Edward than what Edward can ever hope to achieve. Team Vincent all the way!

3 The Trusty Red Cloak Of Protection

How does this work again? It’s cloth, right? One of the best scenes in Advent Children was also one of the most confusing. Vincent’s cloak is basically Dr. Strange’s cloak with less personality. Moving in ways that defy physics, Vincent’s red cloak can apparently block bullets but allows for Vincent to shoot through it and then somehow regains its original appearance. And, this is ok with everyone. No one questions this. But then, no one is questioning how high the characters can leap or how long they can fight in mid-air.

2 Don’t Make Stupid Choices, Lucrecia

What even, Lucrecia? What person would choose the creepy scientists over the good looking Turk despite whatever past issues there might be? Hojo doesn’t even look like he could love anyone without putting them under extreme experiments and yet, Lucrecia choose him.

Unbelievable in every way, but that’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

1 Reincarnation At Its Finest

There is no denying Vincent is Madara in another life or vice versa. Perhaps it’s just the cool guy look, but really, they are nearly identical. Their lives might have been lived differently, but who cares when they look like twins. It’s weird to think about these two having a cross-dimensional meeting. Would they join forces or fight? Vincent is a loner and Madara has a clan to look after so it’s unlikely they would waste time with each other but still, weird.
