Farming games have been a hit for a while. Who knew that growing crops, taking care of animals, mining, and fishing would be fun content for video games? While there are plenty of apps and video game series like Harvest Moon that bank on this rural life gameplay, Stardew Valley has remained top in popularity for a while. This is because the game has a ton of mods and updates. There is even multiplayer where everyone can own and care for a farm together.

With this popularity comes a lot of online inside jokes among fans, like memes. Due to the game having many mods and updates, new memes are always made as well.

10 Pizza For Shane And Sam

Part of the many tasks players have in Stardew Valley is to befriend others that live in the town. This can be easy or difficult depending on the characters’ likes and dislikes. Some players use trial and error while others look up a guide. There are two characters that love pizza, Shane and Sam. Luckily for players, pizza is easy to come by as it can be bought from the Stardrop Saloon.

9 Pierre’s Store

Pierre’s General Store is open from nine in the morning to nine at night on Sunday and nine A.M to six P.M. on weekdays. Due to that, it is not unusual for a player to be standing outside of the store waiting for the clock to hit at nine in the A.M. On top of that, the store is closed on Wednesdays.

8 Serpents

Players that get into mining in Stardew Valley quickly get familiar with the games’ many monsters. The deeper into the caves they go, the more dangerous the levels become.

This meme is about a particular kind of monster: serpents. They could very much cause headaches, as they move very fast and are hard to kill. To make matters worse, they can spawn on any floor so there is no break of them.

7 Marnie’s Microwave

Some inside jokes and memes relate to character behaviors. They typically have their own schedules and stand at certain places depending on time, day, and season. Marnie is a little goofy however, as she is a shopkeeper but often stands in front of her microwave and stares at it instead of standing by her business counter during business hours.

6 Abigail Food

This is a major inside joke among any fans who have given gems to Abigail, and chances are that they have since she loves them. However, her dialogue upon receiving them is a little strange. She says, “Hey, how’d you know I was hungry? This looks delicious!” So, does this mean she eats rocks?

Fans theorize this was a mistake in the games’ writing, as most of her other likes are food and they forgot to change what she said for various gems.

5 The Farmer

This meme illustrates the story of Stardew Valley, sort of. Players do get a choice between siding with the nature spirits and small town businesses or a giant corporation. Most players pick pro-nature though, because obviously it is the compassionate and good ending. At the farmers’ side in this meme are Junimos, which are basically forest spirits that look like apples with arms and legs.

4 Romancing Shane

Like the Harvest Moon games, Stardew Valley has plenty of romance options. Some are more popular than others though, and Shane is pretty popular. He is a man struggling with depression, alcoholism, and desperately needs therapy. Next to him, the player characters comes across as a bucket of sunshine.

3 A Different Farming Simulator

Depending on how you play Stardew Valley, this meme can come true. The walking apples refer to the nature spirits, the corporate world refers to the Joja Corporation, and the significant others are all the romance options. Of course, there is a mod for being in a polygamous relationship with multiple characters. As for the anarchist part, why not?

2 Finding The Ladder

Besides not getting beaten up by monsters, mining players also have to struggle with conserving energy while finding the ladders to the next floor. Finding the ladder takes energy and luck as the player destroys rocks and gems until it is discovered in a random spot.

If the ladder is in the last place the player looks, it can be quite frustrating because they had to use nearly all their energy on a single floor when there are over 100 floors they want to explore.

1 Disturbing The Townsfolk

Let’s be honest, player characters do not act normal. It can be easy for a player to stay up in the night till 3 A.M. fishing, mining, or just exploring around. It does make one wonder what NPCs could think of such behavior if they were real people. This meme is extra well done because SpongeBob’s hat is familiar to the funny hats the farmer can wear in the game.
