The latest craze in memes is the Invincible meme. It’s based on that scene from Invincible where a murderous Superman analog scolds his half-human son condescendingly because of his unwillingness to comply and listen to his twisted ideals. Naturally, that scene spoke to and resonated with many gamers who have drawn parallels with villains talking down to heroes or vice versa appearing in many common games.

Hence, Invincible’s meme template is an opportunity for gamers to immortalize (and summarize) the most memorable gaming moments. It goes to show just how much games can tug at our heartstrings with how relatable some of their story scenes and concepts are. These memes represent that well, while others are simply good fun.

10 Why You Make-A Me Do This, Ah?! Why-A?!

You could easily reverse the roles here and the message or impact will still be the same, thanks to this Think, Bowser meme. Mario is always pounding Bowser to the ground for stealing Princess Peach repeatedly after each franchise but the villain still does it again.

He never learns. It’s not like stealing Princess Peach over and over again will make her like him; what will Bowser have in the next five or 500 years doing that same thing ad infinitum? He needs to think and take his advice from a man who consumes mushrooms on a daily basis.

9 Pika-Pi, Ash, Pika-Pi!

For the sake of animal rights, we’re letting this role reversal slide with this meme originally created by @TheAaronSchmit. It’s usually Ash (or whoever’s currently wearing that try-hard cap) who’s making Pikachu take the brunt of the beatings in Pokemon battles, such is the life of a prized pit fighter.

Then again, there are also some rare instances both in the anime and in the games where Ash sometimes gets himself in danger (that’s just how he is). Too bad all his other Pokemon don’t like him much and who’s going to save him? That’s right, his little lightning rat, and he doesn’t even get much in the way of gratitude!

8 Die, Demons, Die!

Well, this is fitting, thanks to Joshxd64. It seems every demon in hell in the Doom franchise is aware that the Doomslayer is the alpha and the omega; he-who-must-not-be-fudged-with. So why are they still like that in every Doom game, eh?

What will they have after 500 eons of fighting and dying again and again to the same masked dude? In fact, they didn’t even need to face him, if only they were careful in not accidentally including his bunny pet in the collateral damage, the whole bloodbath wouldn’t have happened.

7 Tahiti, Arthur, Tahiti!

Arthur Morgan and Dutch van der Linde’s relationship from Red Dead Redemption 2 is closer to that of the two main superheroes in Invincible, inspiring this meme by Bucky Boi. Dutch also stands as Arthur’s father figure, the person who taught him everything he knew. Arthur trusted Dutch up until the latter started going crazy.

Dutch had a plan; which is to steal enough money to maybe buy them land in Tahiti, away from all the modernization in the US which in reality, just put them in disaster after disaster. Too bad Arthur was the one to take the fall for most of Dutch’s failings. Even that meme above is a conservative take on Arthur’s physical state come the end of the game.

6 What The Hell Kinda Name Is Soap?!

Truth be told, you can probably replace Shepherd with Captain Price here and the context and essence of the meme from Blazing Skyez still wouldn’t be lost. Shepherd is one of the antagonists of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Soap McTavish is the playable character.

Soap, being the silent protagonist that he is, usually just gets barked around at with orders from army superiors. Even enemies love to do their monologue while Soap is nearly defeated and lying on the ground. Just kill them and then proceed to multiplayer.

5 Think, Filthy Man-Thing, Think!

Probably the latest horror and modding craze right now, Resident Evil Village has become a meme of its own ever since it decided to replace its usual big hounding monster with a 9-foot tall vampire lady. In this meme posted by Fireball696, Lady D collides with the Invincible meme.

We still don’t whether protagonist Ethan Winters is lucky or unlucky since he’s being chased around a Romanian mansion by a beautiful man-hating bloodsucker. But that image above speaks volumes of how complicated Ethan and Dimitrescu’s relationship is, especially since she sounds like a grumpy mother.

4 Rise & Shine, Mr. Freeman!

The G-Man acts mostly as Gordon Freeman’s guardian in Half-Life. It was him who offered Gordon Freeman a chance to make good use of his skills as some interplanetary/interdimensional fixer.

G-Man was also rather cold and methodical about it, making his aura and existence not too far off from Omni-Man from Invincible. This meme from GoogleyGareth sums up the relationship between the two.

3 Unforeseen Consequences, Alyx, Unforeseen!

Okay, here’s an even more disheartening one from Half-Life 2, coming from know your meme. The series ended on a cliffhanger after one of the game’s good scientists was killed based on the G-Man’s machinations. That’s also after he kept warning the resistance faction’s leaders and figureheads of the repercussions of their actions.

That left Eli’s daughter devastated until the scientist was brought back to life in exchange for his daughter, by none other than G-Man himself. It seems one can’t win easily against this interdimensional bureaucrat, making him the Omni-Man of his own game series.

2 Drink (Estus), Solaire, Drink!

By far one of the saddest memes here somewhere from the internet meme haven, Dark Souls also wasn’t spared from the Invincible meme heaven. One of the most tragic moments in the game was players having to kill the friendly knight Solaire after a parasite latched onto him and corrupted him.

Prior to that, Solaire was one of the few rays of light and hope that the players appreciated dearly in a game where everything (even the environment) is out to kill them. Ironic that players had to kill him, if only he heeded his own advice and sought jolly cooperation from others.

1 Give It A Rest, Joel!

One of the biggest twists in The Last of Us 2 was when Joel, one of the main protagonists of the previous game, dies in a golfing accident. Just kidding, Abby actually clubbed him to death with a nine iron. KabsCorner made sure that the meme pointed that out.

What makes it worthy of the Invincible meme template is how Abby performed a proper villain’s monologue before turning Joel’s head into a raspberry slushie. It was all for revenge but seriously, Joel could have avoided that death if he just thought hard like how he was in the first game. The man clearly lost his edge.
