The second chapter in The Tale Of Iyo is the most time consuming of the three, and it can also be the most challenging one for certain teams. This level is heavily loaded with platforming elements and sections that require a high degree of coordination, more so than the previous chapter. There are only a few moments where enemies seem as challenging as in Nightmare Survival, so combat should not be an issue for most going into this chapter.

Those who are completely oblivious as to what to expect will most likely experience two or three hours of pure struggle. Seriously, this might as well be the real endgame in Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends. With some adjustments and fine tuning it is possible to complete everything in about one hour, stress-free.

10 Bring A Hunter And An Assassin

These two characters should be regarded as the specialists who are a must-have for those looking to speedrun this raid chapter faster than Jin Sakai. The Ronin is usually the character who saves the day, especially when everyone is downed, but the Hunter and Assassin excel at ranged engagements and creating breathing room.

Most sections of this level require exactly what these two bring to the game, so make sure to optimize them before starting. It’s a good idea to equip the Hunter with fast drawing arrow time and a longbow, and the Assassin with the group vanish and hysteria perks.

9 Let The Hunter Call Out Attunement Colors

The platforming section from chapter one is the basis for most of the challenge in chapter two, with a few tweaks. Once again, players have to jump on platforms that correspond to the attunement colors each of them is holding. Only one person will not grab one, and that should be the Hunter, at least for 90% of the raid.

Players jumping on platforms will sometimes get paralyzed by floating red orbs, so the Hunter can use a longbow and free teammates from paralysis at long distances. Stay close to the rest of the team, it’s easy to get lost in some of the less traveled areas of this section.

8 Synchronize Platform Jumps

Almost immediately into the first stage, the person calling out attunement colors for the platforms will notice that certain symbols are repeated. This is an issue, because if the person holding a platform activated by the moon attunement needs to jump on another moon platform, the former disappears once the player jumps, letting teammates fall to their demise. To prevent this, implement three seconds worth of countdown to synchronize the time when players will jump.

7 Stay Right Behind The Red Orbs

The best way to avoid the red orbs that cause paralysis is to follow them immediately after they pass, especially in sections like bridges and narrow pathways. Usually, these orbs do not suddenly backtrack, but rather disappear by going into a wall, allowing players to follow them without getting stuck.

If no red orbs are immediately in sight, keep an attentive lookout — chances are they are about to pop out from the wall behind players’ backs. Do not panic if that happens, the Hunter should be able to use the longbow, especially if the team gets stuck on a platform.

6 Rotate At 8 Corruption

The blood ritual in this chapter comes in the second stage, and is significantly harder than the ritual in chapter one. While two players stand on two soul wells, the other two have to stand at a larger well that has symbols written around it. Eliminating enemies colors the symbols red, once all the symbols become colored the challenge is complete.

The hard part comes with the added corruption that players passively gain while fighting enemies. At 10 corruption, players automatically die and have to start over. Rotating as soon as corruption gets to 8 gives players a safe time window to rotate with a Ghost standing on one of the smaller soul wells.

5 Stand Outside The Large Soul Well When No Enemies Are There

Being inside the larger soul well automatically triggers corruption gain. Since the challenge is to eliminate enemies as fast as possible inside this zone, there is no point staying there when there is no one to fight. Sometimes players will quickly eliminate a large group, especially if more than one Samurai is fighting in the middle.

Enemies also take some time to respawn, so it’s safe to step outside the zone until they get there. Also, enemies run straight into the large soul well, so there is no risk to prevent them from going there by temporarily leaving the zone.

4 Shoot Spirit Bow Targets Close To The Edge

After the blood ritual, players have to shoot targets with the spirit bow to make platforms appear and cross long chasms. These platforms, unlike the attunement ones, do not require anyone to stand on them, but they disappear after a short period of time.

That is why they cover long distances, and if one player falls the raid will restart from the last checkpoint reached. The targets are fairly visible, so shooting them in close proximity to a platform gives players some more time to jump across all of them.

3 Run Straight And Skip The Tengu Encounter

Still in the spirit bow section, the second sequence of appearing platforms leads to a narrow staircase followed by two Tengus. These enemies, though annoying, are easily dispatched by four Ghosts when they are alone. The reason why they are placed in this specific location is to slow down players. In fact, if instead of fighting them players keep running straight, they will find more platforms to jump on. These disappear quickly, so it’s best not to fight the Tengu demons and save some stress.

2 Exploit Group Vanish And Smoke Bombs In The Desolate Fortress

After some time, players will eventually reach the Desolate Fortress. Here, they have to pop some more red eggs (just like in chapter one) and bring two crystals atop two flights of stairs. It sounds easy enough, if only a small army battalion did not show up to ruin the party. The trick is to play it like Yuna would.

To get around the overwhelming pressure constant enemy waves bring, stay close to the Assassin and let them use the group vanish ability. Smoke bombs also provide some breathing room since they interrupt enemy attacks. Tackling one crystal at a time works best if some teams have issues with splitting up and collecting both simultaneously.

1 Take The Attunement And Spirit Target Platforms Slowly

After the Desolate Fortress, players will eventually reach the last platforming sections, which can become the most tedious activity to get through in some cases. At first glance, it seems easy enough: shoot spirit targets, jump on the platforms, and when the team reaches an attunement platform call out the color to make the jump. Just like a quick and easy side quest.

However, doing all that in one go requires the fastest coordination possible. Even the tiniest slip-up will result in failure, and the spirit target platforms disappear quickly. To breeze this run, wait at an attunement platform and shoot the spirit bow again to make the other platforms reappear.
