Kingdom Hearts is a great game series for fan tattoos. The game features so many symbols and icons from keyblades to paopu fruit and sea salt ice cream.

It is a game series that is easy to love for its charming characters, beautiful soundtrack, and unique crossover story between Square Enix and Disney. With its first game having been released in 2002, the game also has a nostalgic factor despite its latest game (Kingdom Hearts Dark Road) coming out this year. The series, to this day, has a ton of titles!

With the series having been around for a while, plenty of fans have gotten tattoos to commemorate their adventures with Sora, Donald, and Goofy.

10 Kairi’s Keyblade

Keyblades are among the most popular options in Kingdom Hearts’ tattoos. This is because they have a ton of different designs. Some are identified with characters and others are connected to various worlds you can visit in the games.

This design, tattooed by Samantha Pixie Robson Tattoos, is Kairi’s personal keyblade. Out of all the keyblades out there, is one has a very cute and feminine design. Its fitting for one of the strongest princess characters in the series.

9 Stylized Sora

Done by Caledonia tattoo, this depiction of Sora is quite unique. The grey shades with the vivid red details really make this design pop. Of Caledonia’s tattoos, this is a common style used.

It gives Sora a sort of indie-game look to him. Despite the difference in style,  his character is unmistakable due to the keyblade and crown symbol.

8 Heartless

For fans who want something a little more dark, a heartless is a good Kingdom Hearts tattoo idea. While heartless have a lot of forms (and some are incredibly cute), the most iconic form is the little dark guys with the yellow orb eyes and bug-like antenna.

The tattoo was made by United Kingom-based artist, Neil Clarke. He did a create job of adding different shades, as a heartless tattoo done wrong could end up looking like just a dark blob.

7 Wayfinder

Wayfinders were introduced in Birth by Sleep and serve the same purpose as paopu fruit in the original games. Symbolically, they are tokens of friendship. It is a great tattoo idea due to that story behind them.

This tattoo is not only of a wayfinder, but it has the famous Kingdom Hearts quote “One sky, one destiny” around it as well. The tattoo was done at Chapel Street Tattoo by Matt Daniels.

6  Axel

This adorable little Axel tattoo was made by Richard Pesante. Axel is a fan favorite of the series for many reasons. He was a part of Organization XIII for a while before joining up with the good guys.

Fans love him for his character growth and for his intimate relationship with Roxas and Xion. Some fans even argue that their friendship was better written than the main series trio.

5 Sora’s Keyblade

The simple Keyblade that Sora gets at the beginning of the games, the Kingdom Key, is a very popular tattoo design. It is much simpler than other keyblades, but also much more recognizable.

This particular tattoo, done by Kevin Furness, not only has the iconic keyblade but the Kingdom Hearts symbol in the background.

4 Watercolor Keyblade

Sweden-based artist, sagietattoo, does a lot of video game and Disney tattoos, making them the perfect candidate for Kingdom Hearts designs.  Their other tattoos range from characters from The Aristocrats to Winnie the Pooh and Star Wars.

While this is yet another Sora Kingdom Key tattoo, it is unique with its watercolor background.

3 Roxas

Roxas is often considered as the edgier Sora. He was introduced in Kingdom Hearts II and it was revealed that he is actually Sora’s Nobody. That means he technically shouldn’t exist and had to go back inside of Sora. That bummed a lot of fans for a while, as they grew pretty attached to him (especially if they played 358/2 Days).

This hand tattoo was done by Marie Jorgensen. Other video game tattoos she has done include Midna from Twilight Princess, Princess Peach, and Animal Crossing villagers.

2 Paopu Fruit

This is the peak of friendship tattoos, as the lore of paopu fruits dictates, ““If two people share paopu fruit, their destinies become intertwined forever.” These little fruits were done by Corbin Jacob at Ink Snob Tattoo.

Not only are the paopu fruit symbolically significant, but they also make for very adorable designs. Other symbols friends could use from the series for friendship tattoos are wayfinders or sea salt ice cream.

1 Heart And Key

Hearts, keys, and crowns are staples of Kingdom Hearts. Any fan could not go wrong with such designs. They can also be as detailed or as minimalist as desired.

These two tattoos are on the more minimalist side of the spectrum. They were made by jakedoestattoos and appear to be on different arms of the same person.
