Scarlet Nexus throws a lot of questions at you from the get-go and then showers you with even more as you progress through the game. Aside from the story, there is also a lot of gameplay, character design, and level aspects in this game that are very well hidden that they are a treat to those who are extra observant.

From narrative beats, Easter eggs, and intricate details, there are a handful of things in Scarlet Nexus many players may have missed. While many of them don’t necessarily affect the overall gameplay and story of the game, learning about them will make you appreciate the thought and love placed when crafting this title.

10 Musubi Codes Are Tied To The TV Series

In one section of the game, you will receive a brain message from Mimi, the owner of Musubi’s. This character will ask for your help in looking for one of their regulars, who has apparently disappeared.

According to Musubi, the best way to get to this missing person is by uncovering codes that are hidden in the episodes of the Scarlet Nexus TV series. With this in mind, if you want to fulfill Mimi’s request, you’re going to have to watch the TV series, as well as fully play the game.

9 The Ghost In The Abandoned Hospital

The Abandoned Hospital is one of the most unsettling places in Scarlet Nexus, and for the right reasons. Aside from tragic in-game lore associated with the place, there are also hidden creatures in the Abandoned Hospital that may send shivers down your spine.

If you linger in specific places long enough, you might get the chance to see some of the ghosts that roam around in the Abandoned Hospital. It is without question that this place is haunted, you just have to look closely to see the creatures that are haunting the place.

8 Tsugumi And Kagero’s Friendship

Tsugumi, who is shy and reserved, and Kagero, who is boisterous and outgoing, have a very bizarre friendship. You learn by the end of the game that one of the reasons why Kagero is so drawn to Tsugumi is because she shares his daughter’s name.

Aside from that, another link between Tsugumi and Kagero that’s almost poetic is the way their powers relate to each other. Kagero has the ability to turn invisible, which makes him highly lethal to almost everyone — everyone except for Tsugumi, who will be able to see him coming with her Clairvoyance.

7 The White Outfit

When it comes to RPGs and JRPG titles, everyone loves dressing up their characters to suit their styles and preference. The same can be applied to Scarlet Nexus. There are a couple of visual options you can try out in this game. One attire set you may not know you can get is the Battle Attire: White outfit for the entire team.

To get this gorgeous-looking outfit, you must simply reach Team Bond Level 3. The best way to reach this is by doing bond episodes and constantly showering your teammates with gifts.

6 The Painting Of Others In The Research Facility

Naomi’s fate is one of Scarlet Nexus’s most tragic storylines. In Phase 6 of Kasane’s run, you will get the chance to visit a Research Facility that houses Naomi, and other humans who have transformed into Others.

One very disturbing aspect of this level’s design is the fact that the walls of this place are littered with paintings of Others. This shows the knowledge and obsession the organization behind this place has towards the Others.

5 The Meaning Of The Characters’ Names

Japanese speakers will already have this information right out of the bag. Those who aren’t fluent with the language, however, will miss the fact that many of the characters’ names in Scarlet Nexus have meanings that are tied to their personalities, and even their powers.

The Sumeragi last name is often associated with the Imperial house, which matches the status of the family’s bloodline in the game. Shiden’s name can mean lightning or flash, just like his powers. Fubuki translates to snowstorm, which matches the character’s powers. Hanabi’s name can either mean “fireworks” or “fire flowers”, which mirrors her pyrokinetic abilities.

4 Characters Will Comment On Attire Change

Whenever you change a character’s attire or add a piece of visual item on them, they will often comment on this in a very characteristic manner, for better or worse. Characters like Kyoka and Hanabi will often comment on an attire change in a positive manner, while those who are as nonchalant as Arashi and Luka will react with indifference.

This is a very minor detail but it shows how much care and attention the creators put into Scarlet Nexus.

3 Characters Will Immediately Use Their Gifts

One very cute detail in Scarlet Nexus is how characters will react whenever you give them gifts. If the gift is something they really love, they will respond very positively. More often than not, whenever you hand them gifts, you will immediately see them use the items you’ve given them right after.

For example, if you give someone something to read, the next scene will show them sitting on the couch reading the gift you just gave them.

2 Completing A Side Quest Is Super Easy

The side quests in Scarlet Nexus aren’t very story-heavy or complex. They are more or less just a series of checkboxes that you have to tick and earn a couple of items as rewards.

These quests are given to you by various NPCs around the game, marked in the minimap as diamond-shaped. Whenever you complete the quest given to you, you don’t have to return to that NPC anymore. You can simply head to the Quests menu, confirm that you’ve completed the quest, and receive your reward.

1 Yuta Could Be A Septentrion

The Septentrion in Scarlet Nexus is considered to be the most elite in the OSF. It is said that this squad consists of the most powerful soldiers, like Karen, Fubuki, Luka, and Seto. It is known that there are seven of them, but the remaining three aren’t revealed in the game.

It is implied that Yuta, Kodama’s twin sister, is a member of the enigmatic Septentrion. In a group Brain Message, your teammates talk about how one mysterious member of the Septentrion has shape-shifting abilities. They then make the assumption that this could be Yuta, given her mysterious background and powers.
