Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a great example of the superhero genre in video games. Created by Insomniac Games, it is a follow-up of 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and both are highly beloved for their wonderful story and immersive gameplay.

Insomniac Games went above and beyond with these games. If you loved the previous Spider-Man game, you’ll fall in love with this one as well. It may be a shorter game in scale and length, but the amount of time you can spend in it just mastering combat and traversal can be hefty. Spend enough time in the game, and you’ll be able to do moves only the pros know you can do.

10 Use The Enemies Against Other Enemies

Miles’ powers are almost similar to that of Peter’s. He may be the rookie of the two, but he has amazing powers Peter doesn’t have. First and foremost, his venom powers.

Miles’s venom powers can make his punches even stronger than they already are. On top of that, it makes the enemies electrified for just a little while, enough for you to use them against other enemies. If you yank an electrified enemy and throw them to other enemies, they will electrify others as well.

9 What’s Up, Danger?

Miles Morales is a very new character in the superhero world, but he has already garnered millions upon millions of fans all over the globe. He has one dedicated film, which was received with critical acclaim, and now, the character has his very own video game.

Considering how well the movie did, it’s no surprise that this game would honor it in some way or form. One of the most pivotal moments in the film was the “What’s up, danger?” scene, and those who haven’t watched the movie may not realize it, but you can recreate that very scene in this game just by jumping off from higher places. You can even wear the suit from the film and equip the suit mod which slows down Miles’ frame rate, similar to the film.

8 Venom Blast

Miles Morales’ venom powers are something Peter Parker doesn’t have, and it’s one of the factors that make Miles an insanely powerful superhero. His most powerful venom skill in the game is the Bio-Electric Intrinsics, also known as mega venom blast.

The mega venom blast, if acquired, will automatically trigger right before you receive a fatal hit. This will not cost any venom energy so it will still happen even if you have no charges to allocate. This skill can only be acquired in New Game Plus.

7 Perfect Dodge

The perfect dodge is the game’s best way of making use of Spider-Man’s well-known spider-sense powers. It is instrumental in combat and it really does make you feel like you’re controlling the actual superhero you’ve watched in films and read in comics for years now.

One of the ways you can make Miles even more powerful in this game is by completing Spider-Training missions. After the second combat training challenge, you’ll gain access to the Payback skill, which allows you to do a counter-attack after a perfect dodge that one hits opponents.

6 Using Camouflage In Combat

Aside from his venom powers, Miles’ camouflage is the second thing that differentiates him from Peter Parker. Upon initial assessment, it will seem like the camouflage is something you’ll only or more frequently use during stealth situations, but the camouflage power can be just as useful in combat situations as well.

Be sure to fully upgrade your camouflage skill tree if you want to make use of this incredible power more effectively. The Blinding Light skill is especially useful when dealing with multiple enemies at once. Camouflage and venom can and should be used hand in hand and the skills are a testament to that.

5 Unlimited Venom

Miles’ venom power is perhaps is most powerful, and also the most interesting. It is something you need to utilize as much as you can to really feel Miles’ powers and using certain mods and upgrades, you actually can use an almost unlimited amount of this.

The Venom Momentum suit mod will make your every sixth hit in a combo automatically apply a venom stun attack. You can also use the power transfer mod to take a portion of camouflage energy and redirect it to venom power.

4 Perfecting The Gadgets

Miles Morales has four gadgets in his arsenal, each of them providing unique usefulness in combat and stealth. The web-shooters are the standard Peter Parker gadget, perfect for distractions and incapacitation. The web-shooters will have more capacity and you’ll have access to the web bomb once you fully upgrade this gadget.

The Holo-Drone is the perfect assistance when dealing with multiple enemies and fully upgrading it will increase a drone’s damage and the amount of time they stay on the field. It’ll even explode once it deactivates. Remote Mines and Gravity Wells speak for themselves already. Fully upgrade all of your gadgets and you should be able to deal with anything the enemies throw at you.

3 Fly (Sort Of)

Miles Morales’ iteration of Spider-Man actually has the ability to fly, or rather, glide forward at an accelerated speed. Okay, fly is perhaps the wrong terminology for the action, but this movement allows Miles to dash forward midair which you can control, giving you the illusion of flying even for just a few seconds.

In a different display of the usefulness of Miles’ venom powers, you can perform a Venom Dash, which accelerates Miles forward, and a Venom Jump to gain height. This adds versatility to Miles’ swinging ability and lets you move around faster and in a cooler fashion.

2 Stealth Around Without Ledges

Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2018 incorporated a popular mechanic that was heavily used in a previous superhero game series Batman: Arkham, which Insomniac’s Spider-Man gathered much inspiration from, the stealth mechanic. Spider-Man: Miles Morales does the same.

Stealth missions in this game use a lot of ledges for perching, similar to the Batman games. It may be the most opted option for stealth, but it’s not the only option. In fact, one stealth training mission in particular forces you to stealth around without any ledges to perch from. As Spider-Man, you can simply stick on walls and do your stealth takedowns from there.

1 100x Combo

100x combo chain may seem crazy, but it is entirely doable. It’s encouraged, even, if you want to earn the platinum trophy for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It’s not easy, mind you, but pro players know that this is something you can and should strive to achieve.

Reaching a 100x combo will earn you a trophy needed to platinum the game, meaning you’ll need to strike enemies a hundred times without being interrupted. On top of that, you’ll need to find a place or a mission with that many enemies so you can reach a hundred hits. The Supply Theft mission is a good way of achieving this goal.
