Minecraft Dungeons has a lot of unique and fun mechanics for players to experience; however, there are also some that are very peculiar. Weird things in Minecraft Dungeons, such as enemies spawning out of thin air and the main plotline that doesn’t make much sense, call into question the validity of logic in the game.
Fans are hoping that they get an answer to some of these weird things in the future that possibly explain why these weird occurrences and mechanics are present. With so many things packed into this dungeon crawler, there were bound to be a bunch of weird mechanics.
10 Enemies Don’t Attack Passive Mobs
Although this is also the case in regular Minecraft, the enemies in Minecraft Dungeons don’t attack the passive mobs such as cows and sheep. This is very peculiar because fans would expect that monsters would want to attack animals since they attack the player.
From a realistic standpoint, if something is hostile towards humans, then it will probably also be hostile towards animals, and fans don’t understand why the enemies in Minecraft Dungeons wouldn’t also when a sink their teeth right into a pig.
9 Players Can Equip Multiple Pets At Once
There are many different artifacts within Minecraft Dungeons, and there are a few that allow the player to spawn pets to aid them, such as Iron Golems and Wolves. These artifacts are very powerful, and as such, players are confused as to why they are able to spawn multiple at once by equipping a bunch of pet artifacts.
This build somewhat overpowered, and players are starting to realize that this is a case, which is why it is confusing many players, and this mechanic doesn’t make much sense. Although being able to summon multiple pets at once is overpowered, it’s also incredibly fun, so players aren’t complaining too much.
8 The Key Item Has A Face
The key item within Minecraft Dungeons actually has a face, and it can be seen squirming around while it is being carried on the players back. This is very weird because most players wouldn’t expect a key to be alive.
This key also seems to have quite the personality based on the expressions that it is able to put forth, and it only makes this creature even weirder. Perhaps there will be an explanation of the living key in the future, but fans aren’t holding their breath.
7 The Piston Trampolines
There are piston trampolines throughout Minecraft Dungeons both in the final level and in the homeworld after beating the game for the first time. Trampoline pistons such as these are not present in the main game of Minecraft, which leads fans to believe that they don’t make much since Redstone-circuitry wise.
There must be some logical explanation to how these pistons function; however, players have yet to figure it out, and it is quite the confusing mechanic. However, the trampoline pistons are also very fun, which is why players hope they see more of them in future levels!
6 The Merchant And Blacksmith Have Unlimited Items To Sell
The merchant and blacksmith in the homeworld of Minecraft Dungeons well sell the player random loot drops for emeralds. Their stock never seems to run out of items, which is very peculiar because realistically, they can’t continue to create items out of thin air.
These items are also usually very powerful, which makes it even more confusing because players can’t figure out how they would obtain all of these items without dungeon diving. These two merchants are very weird!
5 Enemies Drop Consumables
Enemies in Minecraft Dungeons drop consumables ranging from potions to food items. Although this mechanic is great, it doesn’t make much sense, especially because zombies and skeletons don’t need to eat meat to survive.
Players wonder why these mobs would be carrying potions or food and never use them while in combat. Regardless of how weird this mechanic is, fans are glad that it was included in the final version of the game.
4 The Illager Plot
The villager plot in Minecraft Dungeons doesn’t make sense for a variety of reasons. The Illager is seen at the beginning of the game being bullied by other villagers, and as such, he decides to become an evil menace.
When the player defeats this boss at the end of the game, they will find that the Illager is more than willing to become calm, and the player will even extend their hand out in friendship to the Illager. This swift change of plot from evil to good doesn’t make any sense at all, and players are quite confused by it.
3 Redstone Golems
There are Redstone Golems present in Minecraft Dungeons, and the reason that this doesn’t make any sense is because players have never seen anything like it in the original game of Minecraft. Fans are also wondering how these enemies were created because realistically, they would have to be some kind of Redstone robot that a mechanic brought into the world.
Because there is no explanation for these golems, players are perplexed as to how they came into being, and hopefully, there will be some kind of answer in a future expansion.
2 Water Doesn’t Affect The Player
When a player hops into water, it will have no effect on them, and they won’t move at all despite being idle. This is very strange because, in real life, water would generally push a person; however, in Minecraft Dungeons, it does no such thing.
This is true for both water that is moving and water that is static, and the liquid has no effect on the player’s character makes fans question why there wasn’t a mechanic added into the game that moves the player with the water’s current. Water should affect the player, and the lack of effect makes players question why the water in Minecraft Dungeons was designed this way.
1 The Illager And Necromancer Can Spawn Monsters
This mechanic is not only true for the Illager; it is also present in the necromancer enemy as well. Most bosses also share this mechanic to some extent, although these two enemies are the most notable of the bunch.
These enemies are able to conjure up monsters from thin air, and although it would make sense under certain circumstances, the amount of enemies that can appear out of nowhere is quite bizarre. Generally, necromancy is supposed to revive dead people, but in this case, it is creating enemies out of nothing, and it is one of the weirdest things that occur in all of Minecraft Dungeons, and it makes absolutely zero sense.
