Enigmatic, mysterious, and perplexing. These three words are what represent Ada Wong’s character of Resident Evil the best. You may know her as Ada the elite spy, but in fact, it’s not even her real name. Nobody knew who Ada Wong was before the catastrophe in Racoon City, making her a perfect individual to work in such a grey area.
The following list contains ten things that happened to Ada Wong during the time jump between Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 6. With that being said, we’re digging more about this character from the events of Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Damnation, and The Darkside Chronicles.
[WARNING: Spoiler alert for Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, Damnation, and 6. Proceed with caution.]
10 Escaped Racoon City
After the Racoon City incident, Wong escaped the collapsing city. Furthermore, according to a 512-page guidebook titled Biohazard4, she established her name among the espionage community’s legends.
Then, she became involved in numerous bioterrorism attacks and worked alongside ‘The Organization,’ the fierce rival of Umbrella Corp. Unfortunately for Wong, her shady past hindered her reputation within the community.
9 Dealt With Her Feelings Towards Leon
According to a file titled ‘Ada’s Epilogue’ from Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Wong could never escape her hidden emotions towards Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie officer she met during her short-lived days in Racoon City. She might have showcased herself as a tough, mysterious persona, but deep inside, Wong wrestled against her alter ego. The special encounter with Leon in the wreckage of Racoon City took a ‘far greater toll than she would show.’
8 Operated Separately With Albert Wesker
As mentioned above, Wong worked with The Organization as a spy after escaping Racoon City and failing to snatch the G-virus from the Birkins. She used to work alongside Albert Wesker, but the two parted ways and operated separately for some years.
7 Spying On The Sacred Snakes
In Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Ada Wong fought against a drug-trafficking organization who called themselves ‘The Sacred Snakes.’ Led by drug lord Javier Hidalgo, the Snakes’ deal to purchase B.O.W.s from Umbrella went south because the company desperately overpriced them in the last minutes.
After spying on them, Wong made her move to sell the same product by proving that Umbrella had been running a shady business under the table. The Snakes reported it to Wesker, but she already disappeared before they could track her down.
6 Dealt With The Plagas
Fast forward to Resident Evil 4, Wong was tasked to gather information about the bioweapons R & D project in Spain by Los Iluminados, a neopagan religion. The parasite, known as the Plaga, had taken over a populous village where Wong arrived at. This mission led Wong to meet the man she had a feeling for six years ago.
5 Reunited With Leon
Meanwhile, Leon Kennedy was assigned at the village to find the daughter of President Graham, Ashley, who had been abducted by Wong’s nemesis and Wesker’s sidekick, Jack Krauser. In fact, she was later ordered to execute Kennedy but managed to avoid being seen by him to make an excuse.
At the end of the game, just like the events of Resident Evil 2, Wong handed Kennedy a rocket launcher to eliminate the final boss before parting ways once again.
4 Worked With Derek C. Simmons
Still working as a hired spy, Wong worked with Derek C. Simmons to investigate the on-going development of a bioweapon in the Eastern Slav Republic, Europe.
As a matter of fact, Simmons was always Wong’s number-one client. Over the years, Simmons showed great loyalty to Wong’s unparalleled spying skills, up to the point where Simmons would try to recreate his own version of Ada Wong, known as ‘Project Ada.’
3 Took Down President Svetlana Belikova
To dig more information about it, Wong met with President Svetlana Belikova and disguised herself as a Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) representative.
As soon as she discovered the nasty business the president was doing, Wong confronted her in an epic one-on-one showdown. Then, she made a smooth getaway as the Lickers tore Belikova’s men limb by limb.
2 Became A Fugitive
As the evidence of the president’s funding of bioterrorism was revealed, the operation became successful. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as smoothly on Wong’s end. Her disguise as a BSAA representative had somewhat led her to a stockpile of problems. After that, an international warrant for her arrest had been filed, and she became a fugitive since then.
1 Project Ada
Did we mention Simmon’s obsession with Wong? Well, Simmon took his admiration of Wong to another level when he announced ‘Project Ada,’ a Family-funded experiment to recreate his own Ada Wong.
To do so, Simmons went through more than 12.000 trial-and-errors before using Carla Radames, the C-Virus creator, as his subject. This experiment started the events of Resident Evil 6.
