The fan-favorite character Mileena has been a franchise regular in Mortal Kombat, appearing as far back in the franchise as Mortal Kombat II. While she just now has been reintroduced as a playable character with the latest DLC, her footprint on the franchise has been significant.

Whether she is eviscerating those who stand against her on the battlefield or plotting to rule the whole of Outworld, she has been an antagonist that fans have grown to love. Yet there is much more to this savage character than most know.

10 Mileena Is Included In Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

Mortal Kombat 11 now sees a third full release with the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate edition. The professional assassin, Mileena, joins the likes of Rambo and Rain to be included in the newest version of the hit fighting game. Players who purchase Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate will receive the original Mortal Kombat 11 release, Kombat Pack 1, Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, and Kombat Pack 2. This version is available for purchase on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

9 She’s A Clone

Originally created at the request of Shao Kahn, this Mortal Kombat participant was formed using the flesh pits of Shang Tsung. This faux princess was given a darker nature than her sister as a result of this process, making her heartless in comparison. The series veteran Mileena may be a clone, but has a fighting style that is completely unique to her as a character. She’ll often mix martial arts and agility with the savage nature of the Tarkatan race, often using her sharp teeth to tear flesh from her opponents’ bodies.

8 Rivalry With Kitana

Mileena bears strong resentment towards Kitana. Seeing as she was created as a stand-in for the ferocious warrior princess, it is understandable. Her genetic engineering has afforded her a ruthlessness that allows her to target his enemies without remorse, and the woman she was cloned from is no different.

Her short temper often gets her into arguments and she violently retorts against any that question her. Part of her hatred stems from a feeling of inferiority she feels towards Kitana, and her greatest desire is to kill Kitana with her own hands.

7 Mileena is Part Tarkatan and Part Edenian

As a clone of Kitana, Mileena harbors much of the Edenian physicality of her sister. She has learned to hone her physical form to its peak, enabling her to use her flexibility and acrobatics to overwhelm her opponents with ease. In addition to her Edenian heritage, Mileena harbors Tarkatan blood which enriches her body further, giving her strength and speed far superior to her sister. Her eyes also mimic the Tarkatan race, appearing narrow and catlike.

6 Mileena Is A Series Veteran Dating Back To Mortal Kombat II

Though she was absent from the original Mortal Kombat, Mileena made her debut in the direct sequel, Mortal Kombat II. She has since been a recurring character throughout the series’s entries. When she was first introduced, she donned a pink bodysuit and mask similar to her male counterparts Sub Zero and Scorpion. While she has not always been playable, she has continued to appear in the stories and lore of the Mortal Kombat universe as the franchise evolves. She has been a repeated villain within the franchise.

5 Mileena Is From Outworld

With origins leading back to the arcade entries of the franchise, Mileena inhabits a realm far different than the Earthrealm that Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage were born in. One of the six realms of the Mortal Kombat universe, Outworld is a heavily hostile domain, filled with forests, monsters, and tyrants. Shao Kahn dominates this domain, ruling with fear until his death. After his passing, Mileena takes his mantle to become the leader of this hostile planet for a time, though this stint of leadership would be short-lived.

4 Mileena Was Ousted As Leader Of Outworld

The creation of Mileena in the flesh pits mutated her, giving her monstrous amounts of strength and speed, but did so at the cost of much of her humanity. She is ruthlessly sadistic and cares for no one but herself. Psychologically, she’s very unstable, as shown by her inability to fight her murderous impulses. Her tenure as ruler of Outworld was cut short by a revolution, as the inhabitants of her kingdom loathed her as a leader. Kotal Kahn led the charge against her forces. She was dethroned and disgraced, deeply angered by the people’s rejection of her.

3 Her “Father” Made Her As Kitana’s Replacement

When it became apparent to a disgruntled Shao Kahn that Kitana was not interested in doing his bidding, he plotted to replace her. His fear and paranoia surrounding his daughter led him to request help from Shang Tsung in creating a “better” version of his willful child. In addition to the DNA of Kitana, Shao Kahn had Tarkatan blood, the kin species of the brutal Baraka added to create a far more merciless daughter. The hybrid creation Mileena is indeed crueler and darker than her “sister.”

2 Players Can Purchase Her Separately In Kombat Pack 2

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate offers a stellar value for players new to the franchise, giving them access to the main game and all previous content released for $60. For players who already own Mortal Kombat 11, Kombat Pack 2 is an easy way to add Mileena to the roster. Purchasing the Kombat Pack will also grant players access to two more new characters, Rain and Rambo. The trio can be acquired separately on PC, and all PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

1 Mileena Is Carnivorous

While she was absent from the original story in Mortal Kombat 11, she has made her mark on the franchise in past entries for being one of the most ferocious and brutal combatants in all the realms. Her Tarkatan genes are apparent whenever her mask is removed. She harbors the race’s jagged and numerous teeth, which she uses to devour those who fall against her in battle. Fans have come to view Mileena as one of the most disturbing and satisfying characters to grace the franchise over the years.
