The era of new consoles has come with the recent release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and now Bud Light has released one of their own. It is unlike anything gamers have ever seen before as it seamlessly integrates love for beer and gaming into one. They have dubbed it the Bud Light BL6 Gaming Console.
However, there are a few things to know about this special console before checking your bank account to make this purchase. Keep reading to learn the facts about the limited edition Bud Light BL6 Gaming Console!
10 It Works As A Two-Beer Koozie
A Bud Light console wouldn’t be complete without a way to keep your beers cold. Luckily, they didn’t disappoint as it can hold up to two beers at a time.
It utilizes polystyrene foam to keep them cold no matter where you take them. This isn’t a huge surprise as Bud Light even stated that this console was created by “a team of hopped up designers.”
9 A Projector Is Used Instead Of An HDMI Port
This console doesn’t utilize an HDMI port like others, rather, it uses a projector so it can be taken on the go. It is fun to drink and play video games at the same time, which is why the creators didn’t want to restrict you to your living room. This console was made to be taken camping, to the beach, or even to different rooms in your home. The versatility of it is what makes it so amazing.
8 The Battery Lasts For Up To Two Hours
The battery life isn’t great, as it only lasts for two hours, so you had better drink your beers quickly. The thought behind this is that this is the amount of time it would take before a party would move on to other drinking games or activities. You could always bring along your charging cord though if you desired to have the festivities continue for hours on end.
7 It Includes Six Different Games
One downfall of this console is that it comes preloaded with six games, and those are the only ones you can play. The games are Tekken7, Soulcalibur VI, RBI20 Baseball, and Broforce, as well as Flashlight Freeze Tag and Six Puck which are exclusive to the BL6.
They wanted to give gamers a list of games to suit any play style as it has an arcade game, a sports game, and a shooter game to name a few. You might not be able to download the newest Assassin’s Creed, but you already have bragging rights if you are the owner of this device.
6 The Controllers Can Be Stored In The Console
One cool feature is that the two controllers can be stored inside of the console itself. It is assumed they must be charged, and it is unclear if the console doubles as a charging port as well. There are only two controllers, but their design makes them a perfect fit for any size hand with basic controls that everyone will understand.
5 It Was 3D Printed
The console itself was created using a 3D printer, which is why its design is so clean and precise. Bud Light compares it to a car chassis as even the paint job is out of this world.
It still has power buttons, as well as volume and rest buttons, for the complete gaming experience. The tops of the replacement cans are even labeled so you know exactly where your beers and controllers are supposed to go.
4 The Resolution Is 720p
It was already mentioned how this console utilizes a projector system, so not much can be expected of the graphics. They are pretty subpar at 720p, as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X can currently support 4K resolution.
It really doesn’t compare, but then again, the other consoles won’t keep your beers cold while you play. It is something for gamers to consider before dishing out the cash for this piece of machinery.
3 The Size Is Bigger Than They Thought
Bud Light hasn’t come out and said how much bigger this console is when compared to an actual six-pack of beer, but it is assumed to be bigger. Their statement is that it is “bigger than we thought. tbh” which doesn’t leave potential buyers much to go off of. However, they rated the Xbox Series X as “huge” and the PlayStation 5 as “giant” so it is expected to be smaller than these other consoles.
2 Only One Was Made And Sold For $50,000
The one downfall is that Bud Light only made one and it already sold at an auction for $50,000. A man by the name of Don Jones won this one-of-a-kind console and beer drinkers everywhere are envious of his new device. Your only hope is that they decide to head into the business of creating consoles, but this is a dream that probably won’t come to fruition.
1 All Proceeds Went To The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation
Bud Light didn’t rake in the proceeds from this console, rather, they donated them all to The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. This charity has something called Change is on the Menu, which helps restaurant workers out in these difficult times.
Their goal is to keep restaurants open and help those who want to continue their education in this field. They want to create the future of restaurants through this charity and Bud Light wanted to do their part to support them in their mission.
