Fortunately for gamers, there has been a gold mine of great characters this year to choose to dress up as; some characters, however, got way more popular than anyone could have seen coming.

In fact, some game-like Animal Crossing basically took over social media networks for months on end, making them a guaranteed costume that fans will see while scrolling their newsfeed this holiday season. If someone has not seen cosplay of these characters already, that is destined to change in the coming weeks.

Not only is a new Microsoft console launching, but Halo Infinite, the next entire in the popular series, is slated to come out next year, sending fans of the series into a frenzy. Costume stores have been stocking Master Chief costumes for years, so gamers may just end up pulling them out of their closets.

Along with Master Chief, there is a high chance that Cortana will be seen multiplying throughout the web.

9 Crewmate

Being a crewmate from Among Us is one of those low maintenance costumes that will end up being everywhere. Along with fans holding signs saying “red is sus” fans should expect to see players dressed up with weapons for accessories. This is a fun costume that allows fans to get a bit creative.

Hopefully, there won’t be any need to suspect other cosplayers of being up to mischief in the real world.

When Animal Crossing: New Horizon first got popular, the internet was flooded with tons of Tom Nook shirts that can easily be ordered from stores dealing in pop culture. Paired with a pair of raccoon ears and some creative make-up, creating a Tom Nook costume is incredibly easy.

Here’s hoping that someone makes a set-up with tons of bells included to spice up the costume.

7 Paimon

Despite the fact that Genshin Impact has only been out for a month, it has completely taken the world by storm. To make matters worse, there are tons of characters that gamers have already fallen in love with, and the mascot character Paimon is already drawing interest from cosplayers.

While Paimon’s costume is a bit harder to make, there is a high chance that gamers will notice rations of emergency food popping up on their timelines.

6 Miles Morales

Spider-Man has always been a hot costume at Halloween parties, but this year Mile Morales is going to get some much-deserved love. After Sony announced that he was getting more screen time in his new game, which many gamers believe is going to surpass the massively popular 2018 title.

On top of the new game, Miles suit just looks incredibly cool to wear; who doesn’t love a sleek design?

5 The Bean

Just like with Among Us, Fall Guys blew up seemingly out of nowhere and is a simple costume to incorporate. There will be tons of bean cardboard cutout walking around this year, and it will be hilarious. Hopefully, the fans will even accessories their costume with cacti and dragons like in the game.

As long as fans don’t try to make a costume using the series horrifying anatomy, everything should be fine.

It has been decided that the hit property Fortnite is here to stay, and the characters are incredibly popular with gamers of all ages. There are tons of different characters and costumes that fans can gravitate towards to make their perfect Halloween look, as well as pre-made costumes available through retailers.

Resident Evil is another series that is huge in the cosplayer community thanks to its iconic characters. In 2020, the Resident Evil 3 remake was released, which put a heavy focus on female protagonist Jill Valentine, who has been a series favorite since her debut in 1996.

2 Geralt of Rivia

Geralt found himself in the middle of a popularity storm after The Witcher on Netflix caught audiences by surprise. Whether fans were introduced after hearing the infamous “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” song or through memes, tons of people found themselves in The Witcher’s world for the first time.

There are sure to be a ton of monster slayers patrolling the realms this Halloween.

1 Mario

This year was the 35th anniversary of the iconic Mario series. A new Paper Mario title was released on the Nintendo Switch, along with a 3D All-Stars Collection featuring three of the most popular Super Mario titles ever made. With Mario costumes already being easy to buy, he’s a guaranteed choice for gamers this season.

In addition, his brother Luigi will also probably find some love from fans along with Princess Peach and Yoshi.
