North American CS:GO legend Spencer “Hiko” Martin has officially signed to 100 Thieves’ VALORANT roster, joining as the organization’s team captain.

Known for his lurking, unrivaled aim skills and his crazy clutch pop offs, Hiko is a name that nearly every Counter Strike fan will know, his history in the game dating back to Counter-Strike 1.6. The thirty-year-old has made his rounds through the scene, playing for the likes of compLexity Gaming, Cloud9, iBUYPOWER, Team Liquid and most recently, Rouge. Now with the release of Riot Games’ VALORANT, Hiko will be joining Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag’s 100 Thieves.

With the signing, 100 Thieves are officially entering VALORANT’s esports scene. The organization was one of the first to organize a tournament back during the game’s beta in April. Team Shroud were crowned winners of the 100 Thieves Invitational, which composed of Hiko himself alongside T1 players Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, Keven “AZK” Larivière, Braxton “brax” Pierce and the team’s namesake Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek.

Along with the announcement of Hiko’s signing, the organization also announced that he will be acting as the team’s captain. Currently, Hiko is the only 100 Thieves player to have been announced. With his longevity in competitive gaming, Hiko will provide invaluable experience as team captain to any young up-and-comers the team decides to sign.

Hiko has proved himself worthy of his pedigree in VALORANT’s early tournaments, showing off his insane mechanical skills which have transferred over from CS:GO quite smoothly. He’s picked up a couple of first place finishes in the 100 Thieves,  T1 and Code Green Invitationals. Hiko finished second in the ESPN Esports Invitational, and in the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Invitational, he finished 4th, losing to mouseSpaz, who later became Team SoloMid.

Hiko’s raw talent and success in CS:GO and VALORANT have made him one of the most popular personalities in the game so far. With this signing, 100 Thieves are certainly going to be a fan favorite going forward.

The star will be playing in the upcoming Twitch Rivals: VALORANT Launch Showdown with four of the players from Gen.G’s VALORANT roster. Team Hiko, as its appropriately named, will go into the tournament as one of the favorites to win it all.
