You won’t find any open-world games these days that don’t have mods developed for them. Gamers have always loved creating cheats in order to have an easier way to play games, and the Assassin’s Creed series has experienced the same. Odyssey, in particular, has seen a lot of mods come its way.
While it’s true that activating mods is a way to avoid the challenges of the game, it’s also a way to enhance your playthrough since there are so many possibilities this way. For this reason, you should check out the types of mods that can be found and why they make the game better.
Updated December 24th, 2020 by Meg Pelliccio:Assassin’s Creed Valhalla recently released, inviting players into the world of Vikings and continuing the legacy of the Assassins. Valhalla has also introduced a bunch of new players to the series, with many of them flocking to the older titles to see what they missed.
Of course, Odyssey is a great game for new fans to try out as it is considered to be among the best entries in the series, especially as the latest titles include more RPG elements such as romance and the ability to choose the gender of your character. To make the game more interesting, or even a little easier, there are a bunch of mods that can help you out.
15 AC Odyssey Tweak Pack
The AC Odyssey Tweak Pack mod is a great all-rounder that adds a variety of decent tweaks to the game to make it a little easier for those who find the difficulty too much, as well as allowing for a smoother playthrough.
Improvements include removing the mount speed restriction, tweaks to resource loot multiplier, allowing players to set custom XP and enemy health and damage multipliers, tweaks to healing, reduced bounty cooldowns, and more.
14 Valhalla Inspired Warpaints
If you want to add a little touch of Valhalla to the older Odyssey title, ilikedetectives and skylightglare’s Valhalla Inspired Warpaints mod allows you to add some Viking-esque warpaints onto both Kassandra and Alexios.
There is quite a variety of warpaints available with this mod, so there’s sure to be something for everyone’s taste. This mod does require another mod to work, the Forger 2.8 mod, so be sure to download that one first.
13 Invisible Bow and Spear (Forger)
One of the most requested features that fans want Ubisoft to add is for bows and quivers to be removable so that characters can have a more minimalistic looking armor set. The Invisible Bow and Spear (Forger) mod allows players to do just that and it works for both Alexios and Kassandra.
Once again, the Forger mod is required for this mod to work, so be sure to download that one also. Even while this mod is active, you can still use your bow and arrows, but they are invisible so it looks like the character is miming the action.
12 Different Skin Tones for Kassandra
Players love to be able to customize the leading character so that it better reflects their own appearance. While it’s understandable that Alexios and Kassandra have a set skin tone suitable for Greeks, it’s always nice to have an option for something different.
The Different Skin Tones for Kassandra mod allows players to choose between an additional five skin tone variations on top of the standard one available in the game. This mod does not affect NPC skin tones, but it does require Resorep for it to work.
11 Myrrine Customizer
Myrinne is the mother of Alexios and Kassandra that players track down during the game’s storyline. If you want to change up her appearance too, the Myrrine Customizer mod allows players to alter her hairstyle, skin tone, hair color, eye color, and outfit.
If you’re modding your misthios to look different from the default appearance, now you can ensure your in-game mother still resembles Alexios or Kassandra. As with many Odyssey mods, Myrrine Customizer requires the Forger mod in order for it to work.
10 New Outfit Mod
Those who’ve played the game know just how valuable all those armor sets are. However, some prefer Kassandra in prettier clothes and this mod is for them. There are a number of color options available, although the white dress is the best one.
The mod allows for Kassandra’s apparel to be chosen by the players themselves, meaning you don’t need to go around searching for resources or drachmae to be able to purchase these clothes. This is basically what you get if sundresses were in style over two thousand years ago.
9 Young Alexios
The vast majority of players prefer Kassandra to Alexios as the playable character. Mainly, it’s because Alexios’ appearance is so generic he’s not really fun to play as. This mod allows for that to be fixed as Alexios is made far younger.
This mod version of Alexios comes with his hair cut and his beard shaved, allowing his emotional expressions to be pronounced. It also gives a different experience for gameplay, as it feels like you’ve got a whole new protagonist to use.
8 All Legendary Items Unlocked
Collecting all the legendary items can be a real chore, which is something fans want to see fixed for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This mod will allow you to enjoy legendary items altogether, as it opens every item at the same time.
This way, players can have their pick of the legendary item they want to use. You could choose the highest level items right from the get-go, in that these weapons and armor can be used from the first mission itself.
7 Unlimited Arrows And Resources
Perhaps the most taxing work to do during gameplay is crafting arrows or trying to earn drachmae. Seeing as arrows aren’t all that strong of weapons, most believe giving them unlimited “ammo,” as Devil May Cry does, will be better.
Well, with this mod you can as the unlimited arrows allow the player to shoot as many as their heart desires. It gets better when you see the unlimited resources and drachmae you also get. It’s crazy to see the maximum numbers showing on-screen but that’s certainly true if you get the mod.
6 God Mode
The tropes found in the Assassin’s Creed series have spawned memes only true fans will understand. Among them is the enemies’ tendency to swarm around the player and keep being so defensive that combat becomes very frustrating.
The God mode mod is the one you want here, with it making the player ridiculously powerful. You’ll be able to take clean hits as many times as you want for no damage. You’ll also kill enemies in single strikes and can become invisible to them as well.
5 Infinite Skills
Players are supposed to toil for hours on end just to get one or two ability points. Odyssey might be ranked very high in the series, but this aspect is one of its most hated. The infinite ability points mod should deal with annoyances here.
While it’s not technically infinite since there’s still a number, the fact that there are only so many abilities to level up means that the mod is essentially handing you infinite of these. This way, the tedious collection of these points is removed.
4 No NPCs In The World
Odyssey has the biggest open-world in the series but is ranked lower in terms of maps with quality. One of the reasons is due to random enemies attacking you when you’re minding your own business, which is why you should try this mod out.
In actuality, this is a cheat hidden in the mod. To do so, the player has to increase enemy ability to the max as well their own. After doing so, reload from the previous save point and you’ll see every enemy already dead. This will allow you to roam the world with no NPCs to bother you.
3 One-Hit Deaths From NPCs
There’s always a lot of fun to be had by fighting NPCs who pose no threat, stuff that memes are made for. Some players like a challenge fighting these NPCs and these guys will appreciate the mod that allows minor passersby to become deadly powerful.
Fighting them can lead to instant death, as the NPCs have one-hit kill abilities. The upside to this mod is that you can practice your fighting ability and see how well you can dodge attacks. Plus, it’ll keep you in line and avoid killing NPCs.
2 Apex Reshade Mod
A good cheat to get better graphics is to mod the world that way. This is usually done by reshading the sky and the ground to look a lot more fluid, which makes graphics look polished. The Apex Reshade mod is the best one on offer for Odyssey.
The best places to be with this mod are the beaches, the sea, and meadows. You’ll likely be able to see the breeze as it blows your way. Of course, synchronization points stand out the most due to the view provided.
1 Story Creator Mod
Even with the many hours of gameplay available, the stories feel like they are finished pretty soon. For those who want to have a purpose attached to their playthrough, this mod is for you. It comes with stories made by gamers themselves for one to indulge in.
Of course, the cutscenes are mashed together so you won’t really understand what’s going on, but the missions are custom-made and original in their own way. It’s also cool to walk into these portals of sorts to start the storylines.
