Taking a break from releasing awesome multiplayer footage, the folks at DICE have decided to unveiled a teaser for a Battlefield 3 trailer releasing next week - focusing on single-player gameplay. This particular teaser features a nighttime mission with the Misfit unit (featuring Sgt. Blackburn from Fault Line) where they assault a location.

Upon watching this, you may start to think the scripted events in other first person shooter games look a little tame in comparison.

Battlefield 3’s multiplayer craziness has already been featured in a few trailers, including the Caspian Border trailer featuring a whole lot of stuff going on from soldiers on the ground, vehicles moving about, and aircraft. While multiplayer is going to be a very large focus for DICE and the fans who love the franchise, single-player is also something to consider getting into. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the aforementioned Fault Line series that debuted the single-player and the more recent Thunder Run trailer from E3 2011, lone players will still have an exciting experience.

Alongside the teaser for the real trailer, DICE also started sharing details regarding BF3’s story and how they wanted to really differentiate it from the Bad Company games. First off, we’ll just go ahead and confirm the story is told by Sgt. Henry “Black” Blackburn - while he is interrogated regarding events he took part in during a joint military operation against a terrorist faction known as the PLR. Yes, you play his memories. Yes, that sounds pretty much like Black Ops. Now that’s out of the way, take a look at the teaser below. The full version releases September 16.
