Fresh gameplay from the campaign of Gears of War 3 has been made available online, giving a minor glimpse into the kind of action players will find themselves in in the last part of the Gears of War trilogy. Short answer, yes, it’s still pretty awesome. The video, made available by GearsCon, mainly focuses on some of the new enemy types the player will be encountering throughout the Gears 3 campaign, both small and big.

Gears of War 3 is going to be on the must-play list for a lot of gamers this year and it was an easy selection for a spot on Game Rant’s most anticipated games of 2011 list. The multiplayer beta earlier in the year was a huge success and gave Epic Games valuable information to create a better final experience. However, the Gears of War series was much more focused on a single-player experience that ended up garnering a very large multiplayer following. Not just limited to competitive gameplay, cooperative gameplay in the form of Horde mode is also a large draw, visually impressive in the recent Horde 2.0 trailer and played just as well during E3 2011.

The last game in the trilogy focuses more on the last push of mankind as they deal with both the regular Locust threat and now Lambent Locust (the kind that blow up into yellow Kool-Aid). You’re going to see the same kind of great gameplay you have been used to throughout the series, with a few more things to mix it up.
