Perhaps a little too much joy. One of the trademarks of the inFAMOUS series is the binary paths of good and evil that are presented to the player, offering them the chance to use their powers selfishly or as a positive force in the world. The DUP aren’t exactly the good guys, but in this trailer Delsin himself comes across as decidedly Joker-esque; his graffiti might not read “Why so serious?” but it still betrays a pretty dark sense of humor.
inFAMOUS: Second Son’s influences include skateboarding games, and Delsin’s status as a street artist who’s constantly getting into trouble marks him very much as someone on the wrong side of society’s approval. Sucker Punch has also promised a story that is pretty direct with its portrayal of a government fearmongering its citizens into giving up their liberty with the boogeyman of bioterrorism. If they play it right, then inFAMOUS: Second Son is definitely likely to get people talking.
inFAMOUS: Second Son is available for PS4 on March 21, 2014.
