Many people consider L.A. Noire to be one of the best games of the year, and for good reason. (see our review here) The combination of Rockstar’s trademark sandbox style of gameplay with an excellently-written story set in 1940’s Los Angeles makes for a surefire contender for game of the year in the eyes of many fans.
Though the game has been a smash hit on the consoles, PC gamers have been missing out on the crime-fighting fun. But that’s all about to change, as Rockstar has announced L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition for the PC.
We first caught wind of this back in June, with no real details beyond improved graphics and the possibility of 3D. Now, we can confirm that the 3D is supported for those with Nvidia 3D Vision. In addition to the full game, L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition will come with a special code that allows you to access all of the DLC cases currently available.
This will include “Nicholson Electroplating”, “Reefer Madness”, “The Consul’s Car”, “The Naked City”, and “A Slip of the Tongue”.
For those of you who are wondering, here are the official specifications necessary to run L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition on your PCs.
- Operating System: Windows 7 / Windows Vista Service Pack 1 / Windows XP Service Pack 3 / OnLive for PC or Mac; Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.2GHz to Quad Core 3.2GHz / AMD Dual Core 2.4Ghz to Quad Core 3.2Ghz; RAM: 2GB to 8GB; Hard drive space: 16GB; Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1536MB / Radeon HD 3000 512MB to Radeon HD 6850 1024MB; Sound Card: 100% DirectX 9 Compatible; DVD Drive.
The title will be available both at your local retail stores, as well as digitally via Steam and OnLive. It will cost $49.99, €49.99, or £39.99.
It’s good that the PC crowd is getting in on L.A. Noire, but the timing of this announcement raises a few questions as to what Rockstar and Take-Two are up to. Granted, this could just be for the holiday rush, but with the rumours of both a sequel and a possible movie still floating about, it wouldn’t be surprising if Rockstar’s planning something big.
Will you be buying this updated edition of L.A. Noire? Do Rockstar and Take-Two have something up their sleeves?
L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition releases November 8th in North America, and November 11th in Europe, for the PC, Steam, and OnLive.
