Mojang’s block-buster hit Minecraft is continuously evolving through frequent updates, each encouraging plenty of hilarious fan videos, creating a seemingly endless cycle of growth for the brand. It’s been ported to a variety of consoles and mobile devices, each breaking records. These ports are often far behind the PC edition of the game in terms of features and content, and the Xbox 360 Edition is no different - which is why Title Update 12 is great news for console-based fans of the game. Mobs like ocelots, iron golems and even baby villagers are finally being introduced to the Xbox 360 version of the game, as soon as Microsoft finishes its approval process for Xbox Live content.
Players interested in building massive structures will also be glad to hear that 4J Studios, the Xbox developers of Minecraft, have doubled the build height limit from 128 blocks to 256, allowing for much taller and extravagant structures or mountain ranges. Jungle biomes have also been included, which feature gigantic trees, hard-to-navigate shrublands and a home for the new ocelot mob.
Here’s the full change list for the upcoming Title Update 12:

The update also fixes a variety of bugs, most of which are graphical issues and memory leaks.
The announcement came the same time 4J Studios revealed that they surpassed another major sales milestone for the game - an impressive 8 million sales on Xbox Live. Despite trailing behind the Pocket Edition in terms of unit sales, the game is massive $ucce$$ and the game continues to dominate Xbox Live sales (and activity) charts ever since launching in 2012. With the Xbox One Edition of the game set as a digital console launch title, it’s a domination they’ll likely continue to hold over the market.
While the Xbox 360 Edition is still a fair ways behind the horses and redstone updates of the computer edition, the twelfth title update for the console game is certainly a large step forward.
What do you think, Ranters? Are you excited for the upcoming update, or do you think the Xbox 360 Edition is too far behind?
