Some two weeks before the actual release of Modern Warfare 3, Activision has decided to release the launch trailer for their highly anticipated shooter title.

As is custom with Call of Duty games these days the latest Modern Warfare 3 trailer features plenty of explosions and over the top action - that will be sure to keep any fan entertained.

In a recent interview Glen Schofield of Sledgehammer Games said that the team put a lot more effort into the story of Modern Warfare 3. The trailer itself provides a glimpse of this sentiment, especially the dialogue of Vladimir Makarov, one of the villains from Modern Warfare 2. It still remains to be seen whether or not Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer have crafted a more engrossing tale than that in Modern Warfare 2, but even if they don’t at least fans will have plenty of explosions to keep them company.

Past Modern Warfare 3 trailers have also hinted at Makarov’s true motives. In Modern Warfare 2 players weren’t given any insight into his mind, and he was simply regarded as a man of pure evil. In the Modern Warfare 3 trailers, it seems as though Makarov tries to give some justification for his crimes, a theme that will hopefully add another dimension to the game’s campaign.

Check out the trailer below:

By the looks of this trailer and past Modern Warfare games, it’s clear that Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer are intent on upping the ante with every new release. Each game is bigger in scale than the last, and that really is enough for fans.

Sledgehammer games has already stated that there is enough of a visual upgrade in Modern Warfare 3 that it isn’t just Modern Warfare 2.5. For fans of the Call of Duty franchise this trailer shows off the tried and true trademarks of past games: lots of explosions and huge set pieces - and that should be enough to satisfy any Call of Duty fan’s appetite.

Modern Warfare 3 releases November 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS.
