PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds pits nearly 100 players against one another in a massive free-for-all. PC Gamers on Steam showed this was the type of game they’d been hoping for by quickly helping PUBG overtake GTA 5 and Fallout 4 near the top of Steam’s ranking for highest concurrent users, with 481,291 players at one time....

Debuting during PlayStation Experience, 100ft Robot Golf is No Goblin’s 4-player frantic fighting/golf game coming first to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR in 2016. The PlayStation Experience press conference provided a surprisingly vast introduction to Sony’s line-up of PlayStation VR titles. Many were very interesting or curious, but one in particular stood out as quite obviously fun as hell. That game is 100ft Robot Golf, a multiplayer sports and fighting game from indie studio No Goblin....

The Last of Us Part 2 is a brutal story filled with unfair turns accompanied by visceral violence. The narrative truly breaks new ground in the medium. However, it certainly is not the first game to create a pit in players’ stomachs and make them wince. The following games below create similar levels of discomfort to varying results. A couple of these proved controversial, with many gamers arguing that they were more exploitative than innovative....

The epic novels of British writer JK Rowling captivated audiences around the world. First released in 1997, the character of Harry made himself known around the globe in The Philosopher’s Stone, the first instalment in a series of seven best-selling novels of fantasy. It marked the author’s first foray into the publishing world and became quite the success almost overnight. The novels spawned a series of films that not only did equally as well as the books, but the film franchise broke box-office records over a ten year span....

Apex Legends started as a serious, gameplay-driven battle royale with ties to the Titanfall franchise both in the story and character movement. One thing that the game doesn’t take seriously, though, is character skins. Even going back to the first year of Apex Legends, unlockable skins were always a way for the game’s developers to be a little silly. While some event-tied or exclusive skins have returned to the in-game cosmetic shop at least once, Respawn Entertainment has said of the rarest Apex skins from the past will never be available again....

It was just a few days ago that we brought you news of a feature film deal for the Assassin’s Creed franchise edging closer and closer to completion, with talks between Ubisoft and Sony Pictures gaining ground. Now new information has come to light that may hint at the deal being even closer to a done deal than we may have thought. It seems that Sony has already taken it upon itself to register more than a handful of Assassin’s Creed domain names....

It’s hard to believe that the holiday game rush is near at hand, with Assassin’s Creed 3 kicking off the most anticipated titles next week. To celebrate, Ubisoft has released their launch trailer (no reason to think that makes it the ’last’) for AC3 providing a closer look at Connor’s life before putting on the Hidden Blade and hood. The trailer is essentially an extended version of the one released last week showing Connor’s dedication to the Patriot cause, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive (the song used is ‘Radioactive’ by Imagine Dragons)....

Probably one of the most noticeable things in this featurette is just how little it actually talks about story. Creative director Bret Robbins cites Sledgehammer’s history of “pedigree” storytelling in games like Dead Space and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as well as reiterating the fact that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s story took two and a half years to write, but the featurette offers no new details on what that story actually is....

Electronic Arts has found themselves at an crossroads with Dead Space 3. After the game was unveiled at E3 - EA announced an all new co-op mode and cover system, and premiered an action-packed trailer - a few of its longtime fans launched vociferous attacks at the company, uttering accusations that Dead Space 3 was phasing out horror, softening up and selling out with co-op. (One reader even referred to the game as a “Gears of War clone”....

Injustice: Gods Among Us has been on store shelves for less than 24 hours, and already speculation abounds regarding additional DLC characters. While developer NetherRealm Studios has packed the Injustice roster with a venerable cornucopia of DC Comics heroes and villains, there are still plenty of iconic or fan-favorite characters that did not make the cut. However, thanks to the magic of DLC, and for a few extra dollars, players will eventually be able to bolster their base level Injustice rosters with a few extra characters....

While Commander Shepard’s quest to bring together the ultimate Normandy crew and bring the fight to the reapers came to a close with Mass Effect 2, there were still several DLC episodes released for the game that kept the storyline going. Perhaps in an effort to give gamers a little sci-fi action to occupy their summer, Microsoft has slashed the prices on all three of those pieces of DLC. For those who haven’t been keeping track of the Mass Effect 2 DLC releases that is Lair of the Shadow Broker, The Arrival, and Kasumi — Lost Memory all at half their regular price....

Despite being in its prolonged, but awesome form on the PC, Minecraft is making its way to the Xbox 360 in a much more concrete form. While we have only, thus far, received slim details regarding this Minecraft Xbox 360 version, gamers will be able to put their hands on it next month during MineCon. MineCon takes place November 18th and 19th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets are still currently available, at $139....
