While some games boast of sales or subscription numbers, THQ chose to go a different route with Saints Row: The Third. Instead of talking about how many units of the over-the-top game they moved, or how many after market online passes were purchased, they want the world over to know that over 2 Million Steelport Citizens have been taken out by the game’s IED, or Inspirational Erotic Device. For those who might not know what the iconic IED in Saints Row: The Third is, let’s just say that it’s big and purple and was censored in Japan....

Well, this definitely isn’t going to make fans of Star Wars: Battlefront any happier. It’s been accepted for some time that development studio Free Radical Design had been hard at work on Star Wars: Battlefront 3 before having production ordered to a halt. In a recent interview, however, the developer’s co-founder has confirmed that not only was the team nearing completion on the game believed to be Battlefront 3, but had already begun working towards Star Wars: Battlefront 4....

Game Rant’s John Jacques reviews The Walking Dead: Episode One. It was a wise choice for TellTale to continue with the cell-shaded visual styling they’re used to creating - for an episodic title like The Walking Dead, it’s a style which simply works. As you can see in the trailer, it’s a styling which also matches well with the comics its based on. Environments are simple enough not to be overwhelming, but also detailed enough so zombies can look, well, as horrifying as cell-shaded zombies can look....

It was only yesterday that Capcom announced an upgraded version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to the world, and it was met with both excitement and confusion. The new games is being released in the form of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and it has been confirmed to feature 12 brand new combatants — six from Marvel and six from Capcom. Many fans who had already gone out and bought the original game earlier this year were left wondering if the new content would be available via DLC, in a similar fashion to the recently released Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition....

On November 13th, 2020, the most recent entry in the legendary Call of Duty franchise unleashed itself upon the world. Par for the course, Black Ops Cold War comes packed in with a short but compact single-player campaign, a multiplayer suite, and a zombies mode. Given the nature of the fracnhise and the differences between the developers tackling each entry, many things about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War simply do not make sense....

Once again, it’s time to go undercover as Agent 47 and enter the field. It’s been a minute since the last Hitman game was released, so the latest addition to the series, Hitman 3, is very much welcomed. Agent 47’s new objective in his game is to take down Providence. The Hitman series is famous for its stealth play, the game mechanics, and working silly elements into serious situations. Some would even say that the series is an excellent example to look at when gamers are considering stealth games....

The Last of Us was like the swan song of the PS3. It was the last major release for the system, which was a good note to end on. It was so good that Naughty Dog helped port it over to the PS4 just a year later with some added bonuses as well. It is a high benchmark for storytelling in video games as well and not just for a PS3 game....

Mobile games saw a total of 11.2 billion downloads in the second quarter of 2019, mostly from Google Play. This accounts for 35% of all global downloads for mobile apps but a whopping 75% of total consumer expenditures. Curiously, the difference between downloads on Google Play compared to the Apple Store was significant, with the former responsible for 265% more than the latter. The largest markets for download were the United States, Brazil, and India, where the most popular games were of the Arcade, Action, and Casual genres....

In little over a week gamers will be able to get their hands on Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, and with it an upgraded multiplayer experience. In the two trailers to follow we’ll take a look at the title’s multiplayer from the other side of the conflict – the Templars. These two trailers focus on the agents of the Templar-run corporation, Abstergo. It seems that Abstergo is also utilizing the Animus to train its agents to take down the Assassins....

Although it may not have launched with the pomp and extravagance of its predecessor (see: that Eminem music video), there’s an awful lot riding on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s shoulders. Not only did it usher in a new style of gameplay thanks to its exo-skeletons but analysts also predicted that sales of the game would be far lower in comparison to Call of Duty: Ghosts. With pre-orders reportedly down despite Activision’s best hopes, Advanced Warfare still faces the challenge of convincing those reluctant to buy new games in a series that has become something of a known quantity in recent years....

When Sony Online Entertainment announced that DC Universe Online was going to the way of the free-to-play business model on November 1st many saw it as one last gasp before the title went the way of the failed MMO. At least for now, it looks like the free-to-play gamble has paid off – with SOE revealing that more than 120,000 users have signed up for the MMO. Now, SOE has not mentioned how many new members have opted for either of DC Universe Online’s two freemium subscriptions, leaving us without an understanding of whether or not this risky move paid off, but for now it seems like it has....

There’s quite a loyal following for Dead Rising protagonist, and zombie killing extraordinaire, Frank West. The photo journalist has starred in a substantial amount of games — he can most recently be found putting up his dukes against the likes of Capt. America and other Marvel heroes/villains in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 — so it should come as no surprise to hear that Capcom has teased a new Dead Rising game, with Frank West once again taking up the leading role....

If the last month has taught us anything it’s that Destiny fandom stretches far and wide, and encompasses a large variety of tastes. Some deem the game one of the best of the year, and have been combing through every inch of the game – oftentimes several times over. Others have been less kind to Bungie’s latest game, maligning everything from the loot system to the lack of story. However, for those who share in that Destiny enthusiasm we have something quite cool....

Some might say that those who develop games to a specific established audience have it easy, not needing to worry about attracting the masses. That comes with some drawbacks, of course, and Forza Motorsport 5 showed them all quite clearly. The series’ leap to Xbox One was far from perfect, and the players noted nearly every single flaw and poor decision. Not the best predecessor for Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 2....

With Forza Motorsport 4, Turn 10 returns to the racing genre aiming not only to fulfill that thrill, but to build on what was already the pinnacle of racing simulation....

There are very few people unaware of the game Fruit Ninja. When it first hit the mobile scene in 2010, Fruit Ninja quickly rose to fame as one of the most played, highest rated mobile games available. With that kind of success, it was no surprise that developer Halfbrick Studios wanted to branch out and bring their game to other platforms, including Xbox. The first Xbox version of Fruit Ninja Kinect, which released on Xbox 360 in 2011, found success thanks to its use of the Kinect to incorporate player movement into the game....

TellTale Games have confirmed today that players who are looking forward to returning to the world of Jurassic Park in their upcoming adaptation will be able to do so on November 15th. The game will be available in its entirety — all of the episodes bundled into one download — for the PS3 and PC, but Xbox 360 users will have to purchase a retail disc. Still in the works is an iPad version of Jurassic Park: The Game, which will be available in episodic chunks, but does not have a release date....
