Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games are back with the second in a series of behind-the-scenes documentaries depicting the production of Forza Horizon, the open-world offshoot of the acclaimed Forza Motorsport series. On top of that, Forza Horizon’s extensive licensed soundtrack has been fully revealed, and the first details on its Season Pass have been made public. Buckle up, Ranters - we’ve got a lot of road to cover. The first Forza Horizon behind-the-scenes video, released just a few weeks ago, offered a look at the game’s crowded streets and night races....

For the first time in years, Sonic the Hedgehog players have a reason to be excited. The blue blur’s upcoming title, Sonic Generations, gives every indication of being a legitimately solid game and has amassed record breaking pre-orders. Perhaps most enticing for long-time fans, Sonic Generations features the return of Classic Sonic, and along with him the simpler mechanics of Sonic’s Genesis days. When it comes to games designed from the ground up to not be taken seriously, Coffee Stain Studios’ Goat Simulator has been near the top of that list since its release. The enjoyment of the game comes directly, in some cases, from just how laughably bad it is. With the title’s runaway success on Steam, Coffee Stain has continued to update Goat Simulator with DLC designed not so much to improve the game, but rather to just keep the laughs coming....

E3 2012 is only a couple of weeks away, but evidently Microsoft and 343 Industries can’t wait even that long to get the word out about the suite of multiplayer modes packed into Halo 4. Furthermore, details on the inevitable Halo 4 Limted Edition package have been made public – a bountiful crop of goodies awaits fans willing to throw down a hundred bones on Master Chief’s latest adventure. Finally, new Halo 4 screenshots have been released, featuring scenes from multiplayer matches and the game’s campaign....

Halo 4 takes players to a foreign world dubbed “Requiem,” and this is where most of the game’s campaign takes place. After players finish the campaign, the story continues through the Infinity multiplayer system, an attempt by 343 Industries to bring competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes into the story and Halo universe in a way that hasn’t been done before. On the one side, there’s the traditional competitive Halo 4 multiplayer, which in this game is known as War Games....

This year’s BlizzCon is unlike any other. The annual celebration of Blizzard games, which has moved to a virtual platform dubbed “BlizzConline” this year due to COVID-19 related concerns, marks the 30th anniversary of the company’s founding. In those 30 years, Blizzard Entertainment has been responsible for popular games including the Warcraft and StarCraft franchise as well as the multiplayer first-person shooter Overwatch. In honor of the major milestone, the Celebration Pack is now available to purchase via the Blizzard Store....

Just today Bethesda Softworks announced that Human Head Studios’ forthcoming follow-up to Prey was not cancelled but had been delayed into 2013. Rumors had started circulating last month that suggested the project had been scrapped, and based on the game’s lack of marketing those rumors seemed pretty plausible. Luckily one of E3 2011’s standouts is still making progress, or at least that’s what Bethesda wanted us to believe. While the official statement regarding Prey 2 suggested that Bethesda wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the game, a new story has surfaced that says it was the developer’s contract that was holding things up....

European gamers anticipating Insomniac’s upcoming Resistance 3 should check out the following trailer detailing the game’s Survivor Edition. The Survivor Edition includes multiple goodies for Resistance 3 fans to sink their teeth into, including: Joseph Capelli’s Journal, a Chimera Firing Range Target, SRPA Playing Cards, an SRPA Hip Flask, Capelli’s Canvas Satchel, and Chimera Toy Soldiers. These days betas get a bad rap for being nothing more than a glorified demo, but if one game has bucked the trend, it’s Lightbox Interactive’s Starkhawk. The game has just entered version 1.3, bringing new vehicles, more players and a sweet trailer. If you haven’t already booted up the Starhawk beta, you’ll be prompted to download the 1.3 update. This update will add two new vehicles to the game: the Ox Tank and the Sidewinder Jet Bike....

The Elder Scrolls Online has not had the triumphant arrival that Bethesda - and longtime fans of the franchise - would have hoped for. After a cryptic announcement for Darkest Dungeon 2 last year and going nearly radio silent afterward, Redhook Studios is definitely on to something big. At least, that’s what the fans of Darkest Dungeon want to believe. At the moment, the studio seems reserved regarding any more teasers or reveals. They did release a multiplayer DLC for Darkest Dungeon, but nothing new about the sequel. It might be a long wait yet for fans of the single-player formula that Darkest Dungeon christened the gaming world with....

Sony tried their hand at the portable gaming space with two devices; the PSP in 2005 and the PS Vita in 2012. The former was successful enough to warrant a successor, but the Vita failed to make as big a splash and Sony quickly stopped supporting it & is unlikely to make a successor anytime soon. The Vita was a fine device in its own right, however, and many Sony fans are sad they will not receive a mobile counterpart to the PlayStation 5....
