While the wait for the new console generation is coming to an end, one of the latest games players have been sinking their teeth into is Watch Dogs: Legion. The latest Ubisoft open-world, hacking-driven game puts a new spin on the gameplay established by its two predecessors — and it’s a hilarious one. The fun-factor this time depends on the wealth of characters available for recruitment: literally anyone on the streets is playable, whether it’s a businessman or an old grandma (a favorite demographic for the game’s memes)....

A good Pokémon ability, whether that’s one that the Pokémon comes with default or it’s a hidden ability triggered after certain events or in-game scenarios can completely change the tide of battle. There are plenty of very strong Pokémon with awful abilities like Regigigas’ notoriously awful Slow Start which reduces their attack and speed by 50% for the first 5 turns, but luckily for our less-than-impressive Pokémon, there are also some great abilities that make the whole Pokémon worthwhile....

Sometimes Twitch drama only further entrenches those on either side, as folks dig in their heels, sure that they are right. A better result is having hypocrisy exposed leading to a positive learning moment. Following up on a story from yesterday, Twitch streamer Alinity had called out members of 100 Thieves creator group The Mob for perpetuating toxic behavior, after individuals in the group expressed their desire to eliminate toxicity online....

Sure, for the most part, Battlefield 3’s “Armored Kill” is going to sell on the strength of its steel. Its T-90s. Its LAV-25s. Its DPVs. Its GAZ-3937s. Its ZW-11s. Its F-18s. Its BTRs. And any other weapons of vehicular warfare DICE plans to add with the first-person shooter’s upcoming expansion pack. We’d be remiss, though, if we didn’t account for another staple of Battlefield 3: maps. DICE is touting the new Bandar Desert map as “the biggest map in Battlefield history,” and earlier this August, during Gamescom, the studio rolled out the Alborz Mountains map which is now making same superlatives with beauty....

To say that Electronic Arts has had a tough time with leaks in 2014 would be putting it mildly. In fact, one could argue that thanks to the troubles of Battlefield 4, the Battlefield Hardline leak, and a lackluster showing at E3 2014, EA could do without any more surprises. Unfortunately, that isn’t how the business seems to be going as of late, with leaks becoming a common part of everyday news....

The Battlefield series has been battling Call of Duty for first-person shooter superiority for over a decade. And like its CoD competition, Battlefield has gradually branched out from its World War II origins to explore modern warfare and weaponry. Its latest incarnation, Battlefield Hardline, sees the franchise evolving yet again, this time shifting the focus onto conflict between police and organized crime. But these days a game is rarely finished even when it’s finished, so Battlefield Hardline’s evolution isn’t over yet....

There’s no hiding the fact that the development of Bioshock Infinite has had its share of significant hiccups in the past few months. A number of employees from Irrational Games have left the company, Rod Fergusson has been brought on to help with development, and the title saw a four month delay from October 2012 to February 2013. There really hasn’t been much in the way of good news for fans awaiting the return of the Bioshock universe, but all that changed today with the announcement of, not one, but two different collector’s editions....

After Bungie finally fixed the infamous heavy weapon ammo bug in Destiny’s recent 1.1.1 update, players began looking forward to the next round of updates expected from the developer. This next update, 1.1.2, doesn’t currently have a specified date, though we’re confident it won’t be coming for at least a month. In today’s Destiny Weekly Update article on the Bungie blog, Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague provided some details on one aspect of the upcoming patch....

A couple months ago, a gamer was able to unearth and leak some information about the pending release of Destiny’s second expansion, House of Wolves. The leaker revealed some new weapons and armor found in the game’s files, along with a potential release date of May 19. Today, Activision announced that, yes, May 19 is in fact the official release date for House of Wolves. A new trailer for Destiny’s second DLC will be coming soon, which should provide information about the expected Nightfall Strike and other additions coming with House of Wolves....

It’s a busy week down at Blizzard, where two of their largest current titles are undergoing some rapid changes (that’s Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2, for those who don’t know). While we may not know what the third Diablo would have looked like if David Brevik designed it, it’s evident that Blizzard put in a solid effort for the title and will keep trying to fix issues as they become prevalent....

By most accounts, Dragon Age: Inquisition is the finest installment of the epic fantasy franchise yet, combining the best qualities and learning the hard lessons of both Dragon Age: Origins and the controversial Dragon Age II. It’s a truly massive affair boasting everything BioWare fans have come to expect: a sprawling storyline, an array of colorful characters to befriend and romance, and the biggest Dragon Age world yet. But now it’s getting even bigger....

Officially the best-selling game in January (in the United States), people have been talking about Dying Light more than just because of its controversies (including the recent DLC debacle and its staggered release). One aspect of the open-world zombie game that has been getting lots of traction is all of the wacky and wondrous things that players have been doing and discovering with it. Some prime examples include its very own Destiny-like loot cave, a Super Mario Easter Egg and one player who beat the game without using any weapons....

Everyone should recognize Hole in the Wall. The ridiculous and awesome Japanese game show turned American. Contestants have to fit themselves through holes cut out of moving Styrofoam walls - or risk being pushed into water behind them. It’s as if the Japanese gameshow designers had the Xbox Kinect in mind when they came up with the concept - since Hole in the Wall delivers party game fun with simple mechanics that require team work - and making a fool of yourself by posing in amusing shapes....

Call of Duty: ELITE has been a huge success for Activision. More than 1.5 million of the 7 million gamers who signed up for the service have gone all-in with premium memberships, which grants them first access to new maps, modes and more for Modern Warfare 3. Still, not everyone is willing to pay up-front for the game’s nine month Content Season. Those gamers who have taken a “wait and see” stance on Modern Warfare 3’s DLC are about to get their chance: the first Content Collection for the game will be available on Xbox Live March 20, 2012....

Following the success of NetherRealm Studio’s DC fighting title Injustice: Gods Among Us, there was some debate as to which franchise the Mortal Kombat developer would choose to work on next. Prior to E3 2014, NetherRealm founder Ed Boon began teasing the studio’s next project in a mysterious countdown - which ultimately coincided with the reveal of Mortal Kombat X. Arriving on next-gen (and possibly current-gen) consoles, Mortal Kombat X serves as a further evolution of the mega-successful 2011 quasi-series reboot Mortal Kombat (aka Mortal Kombat 9)....

At some point soon, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm are going to have to run out of fighters to reveal for Mortal Kombat X, right? We’re just a little over two weeks away from the launch of the upcoming fight title and the final roster is still a mystery. Franchise veteran Liu Kang officially joined the roster yesterday and a tweet from Ed Boon hinted that there were at least two more reveals to come before launch....

When PAX East kicks off in just over a week, legions of fans will have the chance to go hands-on with a ton of upcoming games. While a number of titles have been confirmed for the show (Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, Sleeping Dogs, Aliens: Colonial Marines), there are sure to be some surprises. Number Harmonix among the studios who will use the show to debut something new. The developer will be hosting a panel on April 7th at which a brand-new title will be shown for the very first time....

A classic action franchise is making its way to Netflix in the form of a Terminator anime series. As Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator promised in his extremely popular catchphrase, the character is coming back, albeit in a different form, to the streaming platform in partnership with Skydance, which produced the last two films in the franchise. In a statement released by Netflix, John Derderian, the streaming service’s vice president of Japan and anime, confirmed the news and spoke of how the team cannot wait to bring the new series that will showcase an “epic battle between machines and humans” to life....

One of the most unexpected surprises to come out of Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference - loaded to the rafters with third-person action titles - was the open world arcade racer The Crew, the debut title from French developer Ivory Tower. The game’s announcement trailer got every gearhead’s blood pumping, but in a genre dominated by established brands on both the simulation and arcade sides, the reason for yet another open world racer seemed hard to fathom....

If what you’ve seen so far from the trailers and demos for Splinter Cell Blacklist hasn’t been doing enough to scratch your itch for Tom Clancy video games (OK, admittedly Clancy’s involvement with his current video games doesn’t seem to extend beyond having his name on them), then perhaps you have eyes for Tom Clancy’s The Division, a brand new IP that was unveiled at E3 earlier this month, with gameplay previewed by Game Rant....
