Skyrim on its own offers a distinct and expansive world, but with the help of modding tools and hours of effort from the modders themselves, the game is virtually never-ending....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light has radically changed the franchise’s combat loop thanks to the introduction of Stasis, a new damage type that is focused on freezing enemies and creating crystals. It’s nearly time for PlayStation 3 owning Battlefield 3 players to go Back to Karkand. The first Battlefield 3 expansion launches next week on the PlayStation 3, followed by the Xbox 360 and PC versions a week later. If fact, from here on out, every Battlefield 3 expansion will be exclusive to PS3 for the first week. Come December 6, PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download Back to Karkand....

As we’ve already reported gamers who pre-order a copy of Black Ops 2, the highly anticipated next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, will net themselves a 2025 version of the classic Nuketown map from the first Black Ops. While details regarding how gamers can secure themselves the map have been crystal clear — simply pre-order Black Ops 2 from any major retailer — there hasn’t been too much info shared about the make-up of the map....

Poised as a follow up to Microsoft’s fantastic Summer of Arcade games (and free to gamers who bought all of them), Crimson Alliance arrives as an approachable take on the dungeon-crawling, loot-driven, action-RPG. While the world’s eyes were focused on E3 last week, publisher Deep Silver quietly announced Dead Island: Riptide. The latest game in the tropical zombie-slaying franchise will be fully unveiled this Summer, but in light of some fan confusion, Deep Silver has issued a few clarifications about the title. After the official announcement, some players were unsure whether or not Dead Island: Riptide would be a full new game, or simply a remake of the original Dead Island with new enhancements....

It’s no secret that Diablo 3 stumbled through a rocky start with server issues and a failed approach to reinvent the in-game auction house system, but despite all of its technical problems there was a great game buried in there. With the launch of the first major expansion, Reaper of Souls, Diablo 3 put things back on the right track and PC players couldn’t ask for much more. Starting later this summer, console gamers will begin to see the improvements brought on board with the expansion when the Ultimate Evil Edition is released for new and old platforms....

The Gears of War 3 ‘Horde Command Pack’ has been delayed due to some technical issues. Originally intended to release today, the pack featured new weapon skins, playable characters, horde mode fortifications, and three new maps. While Epic Games didn’t go into specifics regarding the delay — citing only “technical issues” as the reason — we imagine it has something to do with delivering the content digitally to customers. What’s funny about all this is that most figure many pieces of the DLC pack are already on the disc, and were only held back to help bolster sales of the Gears 3 Season Pass....

Considering there’s less than two months before the release of EA’s highly-anticipated conclusion to Commander Shepard’s space saga in Mass Effect 3, it’s so surprise that BioWare has opened the information floodgates. We recently discovered that Mass Effect 3 will provide players with an entirely unique story experience as well as much more unpredictable gameplay this round. Now, EA is using that Mass Effect 3 buzz to buoy their other Q1 RPG offering, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (set for release on February 7th) by enticing gamers with cross-pollinated in-game bonus items - just for playing the Mass Effect 3 and Reckoning demos....

It’s safe to say that Mass Effect 3 has already cemented the fact that it more than deserves the title of our most anticipated game of this year. There certainly won’t be any shortage of pomp and circumstance when it does arrive, but there are still large aspects of the game that we have yet to see in detail.
