Hot on the heels of announcing the closure of Halo 2’s PC servers, Microsoft has reconfirmed when Spartan Ops will make its much awaited return. The weekly episodic series that had been arriving to Halo 4 owners since the game’s launch stopped pumping out episodes for the first season of Spartan Ops back in early December, and players have been hankering for the final five episodes ever since. These gamers can now look forward to the game mode’s triumphant return in the very near future....

After what felt like a very long wait, Halo 4 has finally been released and is comfortably in the hands of consumers everywhere. Many have probably already completed the main campaign and have jumped into the multiplayer aspect of 343 Industries’ title, but there’s still a lot of single-player and co-operative content scheduled to arrive for the game’s Spartan Ops mode. In honor of episode 2’s arrival next week, Microsoft has released a trailer highlighting a portion of what fans can expect from the free episodic content....

Sony went ahead and described the recently announced LittleBigPlanet 3 as the ‘perfect showcase for the PS4’, which certainly made it seem like the game would only be arriving for their sleek-looking next-generation console. However, when asked for clarification about this on Twitter, Steven Isbell - the community head for the LittleBigPlanet series- confirmed the game would also jump to the PlayStation 3. Strange to not announce that at E3, no?...

It’s not safe to go alone! It looks like Snake won’t be a solo operative in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. During the 20-minute gameplay footage revealed at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this week, Snake is joined on the battlefield by Quiet, an expert markswoman. As we have now learned, Quiet’s inclusion is part of the Buddy System and is a significant redesign of the long-running espionage series....

Fighting game fans still have almost a year to wait before Street Fighter V is scheduled to release, but before then there’s set to be several opportunities for the most dedicated players to gain a sneak peek. Over the weekend, it was confirmed that a tournament next month will play host to such a preview. After striking big with Resident Evil 4, developer Shinki Mikami took some time away from the survival horror genre, focusing his efforts on titles like Vanquish and God Hand. Now, Mikami is back with a new studio (Tango Gameworks) and a new survival title called The Evil Within. Although The Evil Within is not a Resident Evil game, Mikami hopes that it will deliver those elements that fans have been missing....

While they were placing the finishing touches on Uncharted 3, developer Naughty Dog was also working on their new title The Last of Us. In fact, this game has been in development for the past two years. Neil Druckman, Creative Director at Naughty Dog, confirmed this via his Twitter account. The Last of Us was unveiled at the Spike 2011 VGAs, but before that came an Easter egg in Uncharted 3....

Resident Evil 2 (2019) changed the game considerably when it comes to the franchise. Headshots and body shots were not only no longer reliable, the tone was now far harsher, with the series embracing its survival horror roots more than ever before. Once Assassin’s Creed Origins’ hype died down, many fans wondered what would come next out of Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft Quebec came out with Odyssey in 2018 to some rather mixed reviews, followed by a hiatus from the company’s annual Assassin’s Creed release, then the announcement of Montreal’s project: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Set in the late 9th century both in Norway and to the west in England, the story follows a Viking whose story can safely be described as an epic saga....

Features missing from the final product of a video game that were promised along the way is nothing new in this industry, it’s something that a lot of us are pretty used to. And, to its credit, the developers at Experiment 101 actually kept in most of the concepts that they talked about, teased, or even showed in-engine throughout the course of the development for Biomutant. That said, the list of missing features from Biomutant is still noticeable....
