There’s a lot to do in Genshin Impact, especially for a free-to-play game. Players can complete quests, do the main story, farm domains for a variety of items, complete Ley Lines, explore the map, and plenty of other things. Plus, new content and events get added in pretty often. But there’s an area that’s only unlocked after Adventure Rank 20 and that’s the Spiral Abyss. There’s a lot of things from other games (and even other anime games) we could compare it to, such as The Bloody Palace from the Devil May Cry games, the Trials of The Titans from God of War 2, or The Crucible from Darksiders 2 and 3....

The rough sales figures for one of the best games of 2020 has been revealed, as 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim sold over 300,000 units around the globe. 13 Sentinels is a hybrid adventure/strategy game. The story follows the invasion of Earth at different points throughout history. The player experiences the perspective of thirteen different characters, as they pilot giant Sentinel robots in a war against the invading Kaiju. 13 Sentinels is almost like an interactive mecha anime, with half of the game following the time-hopping story of the lead characters, and the other half showing the desperate struggle to prevent the Kaiju from wiping out humanity....

With many gamers owning a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even the Nintendo Switch it is easy to forget just how amazed gamers were when they first saw 3D games like Tekken on display at superstores all over the world running on the original PlayStation during the mid-nineties. Visually, gamers today are spoilt with titles like Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, or The Witcher series. At long last, the countdown clock on the Baldur’s Gate website hit zero yesterday, at which time the site promptly crashed. Flash forward a couple of hours, and the news finally got out: Atari, in association with Wizards of the Coast and Overhaul Games, will be releasing enhanced editions of Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition should be in good hands, as developer Overhaul Games features members of the original Baldur’s Gate team....

As we detailed in a previous post, Disney is betting big on Disney Infinity — their version of Activision’s outrageously popular Skylanders concept. However, while Skylanders uses unique creations as playable characters, Disney Infinity uses iconic characters from Disney’s library. While developer Avalanche Studios has promised more play sets are in the works (including one based on Cars), the proper Disney Infinity game will launch a three play set starter pack that includes Monsters University, The Incredibles, and Pirates of the Caribbean....

After numerous pandemic-related delays, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness managed to finally begin production. Now, the typically tight-lipped Benedict Cumberbatch shared a few details on the highly anticipated sequel while promoting his upcoming spy thriller The Courier. The Oscar and Emmy-nominated actor first played the iconic Sorcerer in 2016’s Doctor Strange, which saw Stephen Strange learn the ways of magic and alternate realities from the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) after he suffers a career-ending injury....

With several titles under their belt, the folks at Twisted Pixel (Ms. Splosion Man, The Gunslinger) have firmly established their place as the zany developer, who chooses to inject a healthy dose of the absurd into their games. The highly anticipated fighting game Mortal Kombat X is less than a week from release, but it appears that some people have already obtained an early copy. With Twitch streams and YouTube videos continuing to be taken down over copyright claims by the game’s publisher Warner Bros, fans can still get a taste of what will be waiting for them thanks to users on the Mortal Kombat X subreddit. As NetherRealm Studios fights to keep control prior to the game’s launch next week, one Reddit user has confirmed a day one patch for the title and posted details regarding what players can expect next week....

The final chapter of the Arkham series was something that fans were eagerly anticipating for the longest time. After all, Rocksteady had proved to everyone that their expertise when it came to developing Batman titles was second to none. This, coupled with the increased focus on the Batmobile, made the prospect of playing the final game in this trilogy a rather titillating one indeed. Batman: Arkham Knight ended up blowing everyone away with its crisp visuals, excellent combat, amazing story, and gameplay mechanics that tied into the overall theme of the game brilliantly....
