There has been time travel throughout the Final Fantasy franchise, but in Final Fantasy XIII-2 it is a key ingredient to the adventure....
When the first live-action Call of Duty fan film, Find Makarov, was released many were confused as to where its intention rested. Some thought this might be the start of a Call of Duty film campaign while others thought it might be some viral marketing for Black Ops. On the other hand with Operation Kingfish, the follow-up to Find Makarov, fans knew exactly what they were getting, and were very excited for its debut during Call of Duty XP....
In preparation for the game’s release tomorrow, Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that focuses on, what else, the intriguing new tech and weaponry featured in the game. Sure to be part of the legacy of Tom Clancy’s franchise for years to come, the gadgets and gizmos introduced for Future Soldier, while a little advanced, are not only cool-looking they are a huge selling point....
Yesterday, we told you about a teaser trailer that was released for Hitman Absolution, the latest entry into the Hitman franchise being developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix. That teaser showed some video from the E3 2011 demonstration that was talked about in our preview of the game, but did not slake our hunger for more details regarding Agent 47’s next adventure. Today, an uncut gameplay trailer has been released for Hitman Absolution’s Chicago library sequence and gives players video of the new tools at Agent 47’s disposal this time around....
Fan frustrations over the Mass Effect 3 endings appear to have calmed-down a bit - following the announcement of the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC add-on. However, BioWare hasn’t been especially forthcoming about what players can expect when the free Extended Cut content is made available this summer - so it’s hard to know whether or not fans will finally get the closure they’d been expecting. New details suggest that response to the DLC could be mixed, depending on why frustrated players were let-down by the current endings, as the Extended Cut will reportedly focus on fleshing-out the endings with new “variations” - dependent on the player’s choices over the course of the series....
A couple weeks back we got official word from BioWare that they were winding down the, at the time, weekly Mass Effect 3 multiplayer events - so as to provide more interesting and diversified “operations.” As a result, the team would instead be creating targeted multiplayer events every other week - offering everything from bonus XP to chances for especially rare weaponry. While no official statistics were revealed, the last event “Operation: Exorcist” was (apparently) a success - meaning that over 1,000,000 Cerberus Phantoms were killed in action....
The latest Mortal Kombat movie has a lot of people very excited for a modern film inspired by the ultraviolent fighting game series. Mortal Kombat is a franchise with a lot of iconic characters, and everyone has their favorite, so it was a disappointment to many fans when it was discovered that Johnny Cage, a goofball actor with surprising martial arts skills, would not be appearing in the film. As a reboot of the live-action Mortal Kombat films, a lot of fans were expecting a return to the same basic plot of those stories, which makes Johnny Cage’s absence a notable omission....
Prey 2 created a lot of excitement amongst gamers when it was first announced in 2011. Gamers were tantalized with screenshots, a demo, and gameplay details, but as 2012 came and went with no further news, fans feared the worst. Bethesda confirmed those fears when it officially cancelled Prey 2 in late 2014, but didn’t go into detail as to why, simply stating that the game wasn’t up to their quality standards....
Id is building more anticipation for its latest first person shooter offering, RAGE, with the release of each new behind the scenes video. This new one, entitled The Wasteland, deals with the world players will be stepping into and the characters that inhabit it. In addition, the game’s mission structure is detailed, because sometimes, you want to have a goal while laying waste to mutants and bandits. RAGE has been drawing a lot of comparison from existing games that have similar gameplay mechanics or world make-up....
Really soon, in a galaxy far, far away… gamers can start choosing sides in the war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire! Bioware has just announced that, starting December 13, 2011, they will be mailing early game access invitations to those who pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic. Players will have access to the game through till December 19, when it will be down briefly before it’s launch the following day....
With as little fanfare as possible, Telltale Games has confirmed that their latest series, Tales from the Borderlands, will begin its episodic journey starting tomorrow. The first episode will hit PC and PlayStation platforms on November 25th, and an Xbox One release will follow on the 26th. The first episode in Tales from the Borderlands is titled “Zer0 Sum” and will seemingly focus on the Vault Hunter Zer0. Telltale has been fairly secretive with details, but we do know that the game picks up after the events of Borderlands 2, in which Zer0 was a playable character....
Our next look at Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End comes from an upcoming Naughty Dog art book that collects various pieces of concept art from the studio’s past games, including Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter and The Last of Us. The art book itself, called The Art of Naughty Dog, releases later this month, but an early (albeit blurry and low quality) look at the concept art for Uncharted 4 comes from Tumblr today....
That didn’t take long. After teasing a new game on its official Twitter account, and hiding images across GameSpot, Bethesda has unveiled the new project in all of its Nazi buttkicking-fueled glory. As was heavily expect following the arrival of three unique screenshots, the title is a new installment in the Wolfenstein franchise — appropriately titled Wolfenstein: The New Order. Set in the 1960’s in an alternate universe where the Nazi regime actually defeated the Allies and won World War II, the world has turned to ruins as the axis of evil has opted to build robot soldiers to aid them in their quest for world domination....
The Outer Worlds is filled with imaginative and fun characters. Pursuing different dialogue options with them is the best part of the game. The writing is top-notch and each person has their own distinct personality. You never know what type of unique and fascinating stories will come from these highly humorous individuals. The characters can range from mission givers idling around a city to your various companions. Several factors attribute to this list including their depth as a character, their humor, their quirkiness, their development, and the quality of their storylines....
The last few years have seen many long-neglected franchises receive sequels or remakes. Whilst this is fantastic for the current generation of gamers, it’s perhaps those old enough to remember the original titles who benefit the most. Some fans may have been waiting decades to see their favorite titles return and so it can often be something of a dream come true. Not all fans are so lucky though. Buried deep within gaming’s past lie a host of fantastic titles just waiting to resurface....
With the rare exceptions of mods like Brawl Minus, very few developers design a fighting game trying to make it unbalanced. Broken characters make games unfun and with their extreme power levels or broken mechanics, they make matches boring to watch for everyone. Whether a fighting game is excellent or is terrible, it is still capable of having characters that are downright busted when experts put them to use. Some still just stand above the rest as absolutely terrifying to see what they can do....
The PlayStation 2 era was a golden time for Sony. Many of the greatest hits in gaming were either born or continued their legacy on the console. Some of the big series that had massive titles on the platform include Metal Gear Solid, God of War, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Because of the incredible number of games that had a profound impact on PS2 fans, some flew a little under-the-radar at the time of their launch....
Truth be told, 2020 wasn’t the best year for everyone. For gaming in general, it has been quite hectic as well, many games have been delayed, and some got canceled. But in all the commotion and the reveal of next-gen consoles, some things were overlooked. That being some game titles that were released on PC in 2020. Sadly, not many people are aware of these games being on Windows. This is why this list will mention a few of those games that surely deserve more attention than they deserve....
As the dust continues to settle after what can only be described as a controversial launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that might one day be remembered fondly. This, of course, depends on CD Projekt Red’s ability to patch the game into something that eventually delivers on those early promises. Looking back at the game three months after its launch, it is clear that there’s still some way to go....
Pokémon has introduced hundreds of interesting and unique pokemon over the years but occasionally it introduces Pokémon that players just can’t remember anymore after the generation that they’re introduced in is over. Sone of these Pokémon are weird looking and others just aren’t prominent enough in the series to earn a spot in people’s minds. It’s not a total surprise because with so many new Pokémon comes a few that just aren’t worth remembering....
