In 2012, Square Enix released a game called Bravely Default for the Nintendo 3DS. Harkening back to the truly classic JRPGs of old, it was a spiritual successor to the DS’s Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. Bravely Default exceeded Square Enix’s expectations, proving to the company that there was demand for traditional, turn-based JRPGs with classic story beats and refreshed mechanics. Now, eight years later, Bravely Default 2 is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch in February 2021....

Apart from the Sisyphean daily toil of artifact collection or Primogem chores in Genshin Impact, one other distraction that keeps players busy is exploration. Wouldn’t want all the terrain and puzzle development to go to waste now, do we? The Legend Of Zelda is a game that goes back over 30 years ago. Too bad there isn’t thirty years worth of memes, mostly due to the fact that I’m pretty sure memes weren’t even invented until very recently. Taking a break from releasing awesome multiplayer footage, the folks at DICE have decided to unveiled a teaser for a Battlefield 3 trailer releasing next week - focusing on single-player gameplay. This particular teaser features a nighttime mission with the Misfit unit (featuring Sgt. Blackburn from Fault Line) where they assault a location. Upon watching this, you may start to think the scripted events in other first person shooter games look a little tame in comparison....

Since the Revolution DLC dropped in January, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has certainly been keeping players busy. While today’s title update isn’t throwing 4 all-new maps into the mix, it still remains one of the largest updates to Black Ops 2 yet - introducing several options for an all-new micro-transaction market, regular title updates and the public release of the fan-favorite Nuketown 2025 map. Although EA’s Command & Conquer reboot had been through some trying times, including a less than stellar showing at E3 2013, there was still some potential contained within the title, enough that gamers were still intrigued. But, when EA officially cancelled the project and closed developer Victory Games, all of that enthusiasm was lost…or so it seemed.
