Given how WandaVision is the talk of just about every media website out there, it’s no wonder fans and outlets are turning the thing upside down and shaking it to find every Easter egg, cameo, and reference to the comics they can. Of course, the showrunners have been happy to oblige, cramming it full of surprise reveals, vague hints, and secret references for the most eagle-eyed observers. But even die-hard fans may have missed one of the more subtle references in episode 6....

The subscriber-base of World of Warcraft is a constantly shifting beast. Whereas at one point Blizzard did not expect its subscriber count to rise to its once-monumental value, a recent spike in subscribers hinted at what the 10-year-old game’s future could hold. Mass Effect 2 is one of the most played and most acclaimed sci-fi games of all time. It is a clear improvement on the first game. Although the story might not be as mysterious and complex as the first one, it has twice as much content, surprisingly fleshed-out characters, and an overhauled combat system that only improves upon the one that we had in the previous game. Nearly six years ago The Sims 4 was released and reimagined a lot of aspects of the game franchise. Apex Legends is rolling out on Switch, the new season has debuted, but that doesn’t mean that Respawn isn’t looking with wide-eyes at the possibilities of next-gen hardware. 2010’s Amnesia: The Dark Descent struck fear into the heart of anyone who had the courage to play it - and was held in high regard as one of the most horrific games of the decade. The game was developed by Frictional Games - made famous by their survival-horror series Penumbra. Until recently, not much has been heard from Frictional Games regarding Amnesia or the possibility that fans would ever get a sequel....

Ever since its initial announcement, there has been speculation that Watch Dogs is somehow linked with the world of Assassin’s Creed. With both games developed by Ubisoft and featuring open-world mechanics, it’s hard not to hope for some sort of connection. While a direct and overt connection is unlikely, a recent discovery could link the worlds of the two franchises far more concretely. Or at least imply that it’s one the developers’ minds....

The first story-based DLC content for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has yet to even be released, but the ramifications it may have on the future of the series are already being tease. Edward Kenway’s right-hand man Adewale is set to star in ‘Freedom Cry,’ a bonus campaign that may be more integral to the franchise’s fiction than some may have assumed. More details on the location, structure, and larger Templar/Assassin conflict that will be spotlighted in ‘Freedom Cry’ have been released, hinting that “hardcore fans” of the series may even spot seeds being planted for Assassin’s Creed 5....

The 2K section of PAX East’s main exhibition hall was arguably the most dominant and hard-to-miss showcase of them all. Certainly, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III booth and Rockstar’s enormous Max Payne 3 banner drew convention-goers’ eyes, but the main event was, without question, the Borderlands 2 booth, complete with life-sized statues of the game’s new characters – Salvador, Maya, Axton and Zero. At the booth was a playable demo, giving players a 15 minute, multiplayer-only, taste of a newly-revealed area of the game called ‘Caustic Caverns,’ and offering 2 of the 4 new characters for play– Salvador the ‘Gunzerker’ and Maya the ‘Siren....

If John Carmack isn’t the biggest proponent of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, he’s definitely the most proactive. In addition to backing the display technology at E3 2012 and lending his endorsement to the Oculus Rift Kickstarter page, the co-founder of id Software has led the charge in gaming support, integrating the hardware with the upcoming Doom 3: BFG Edition re-release. Other developers like Epic Games and Mojang have since pledged future Oculus support of their own, but Carmack has once again aligned himself even tighter: He announced during a Quakecon 2012 interview that Doom 4 - whenever it might release - will be fully incorporated with the VR headsets....

Despite some rather lukewarm reviews (our own included), Capcom’s recently released RPG Dragon’s Dogma did pretty well at retail, shipping over 1 million copies worldwide! Seeing opportunity in the strong sales, Capcom now plans to turn the game into an established franchise. Dragon’s Dogma is the 55th title from Capcom to ship one million copies, making it quite the success. Capcom attributes some of the commercial achievement to the integration of the pawn system, which allows players to borrow character created NPCs from one another - though early access to the Resident Evil 6 demo probably had something to with it....

At their Gamescom 2013 press conference earlier today, Sony put a major focus on new PS4 titles previously unseen by the public. Sony’s presentation included confirmation that several high profile games, like Rogue Legacy and Fez, were headed to PlayStation platforms, and they also finally revealed a release date for the PS4. However, Sony wasn’t about to forget some of the first PS4 titles they announced, namely inFAMOUS: Second Son and Killzone: Shadow Fall....

Welcome to our regular gameplay impressions and video post where we record our first 10-30 minutes with a new game, and provide some general impressions on that early playthrough. Today’s game is: Life Goes On from developer Infinite Monkeys Entertainment. While many games try to use the concept of death as a deterrent or a punishment (i.e. Dark Souls), Life Goes On uses death as a mechanic. Death is a vital element in this puzzle platformer, but, as they say, life does go on....

The creators of Pinball FX 2, Zen Studios, have been on quite a roll lately. They released a brand new Captain America table just in time for the 4th of July long weekend, which fans of both Marvel and pinball tables have since fallen in love with. If Marvel-themed tables weren’t action-packed enough for some of the pinball haters out there, then gamers will be happy to learn that Zen Studios next table is a little more ‘splosive....
