After returning from a road trip that kept me away from game consoles on Friday and Saturday, I returned to fire up Destiny late Sunday. The special vendor who only appears on weekends was gone so developer Bungie is making me wait another week to progress in the game, but that’s another story. I couldn’t play for other reasons. I kept getting booted from the game, logged out, and shown a slow-loading error screen which instructed me to head to the Bungie....

Whenever news leaks of any well-known game developing team making a new title, it sends a buzz throughout the gaming community. The same questions are always asked: What could the new game be? Is it a sequel to a famous title? Or is it something new entirely? When will we be getting more details? Will it be worth our money? The same will most likely happen with the new title currently being developed by Ruffian Games - even though next to no information is currently available....

Launching in the same year as titles like Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier may not have been the most highly acclaimed release in Ubisoft’s 2012 lineup. But it fared well commercially nonetheless. And as the first installment of a reboot to one of the publisher’s big-name franchises – an installment, we should add, that took at least 3 years to make – a sequel seems like a natural course of action....

As video games begin to expand and become cross-media brands, theatres and televisions alike will soon be filled with entertainment that once had to be experienced on a game console or appropriately built PC. For example, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed will be getting the film treatment, while Microsoft has hired on Steven Speilburg to produce a Halo television series. The expansion of these beloved gaming franchises into new forms of media is inevitable, and now Sony has announced that Sly Cooper will be making the same transition....

There are many big superhero movies out this summer, but for an extra taste of comic book mayhem fans can turn to the Marvel tie-in video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which Peter Parker is taken into the dubious tutelage of Kraven the Hunter in order to face off against a new group of threats, including Black Cat, Kingpin, Green Goblin, Electro and Carnage. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for release on a wide range of platforms this month, and Activision recently released a dramatic new trailer in which Spider-Man battles various villains to the sound of “Ave Maria....

While we still ponder whether or not the latest upcoming game in The Elder Scrolls series is something we really want, there are so many questions that need to be answered before we can pass judgement. ZeniMax Online Studios unveiled The Elder Scrolls Online earliest this month, and while the idea of travelling the lands of Skyrim, Cyrodiil and Morrowind again (but with friends!) excited us, upon seeing screenshots of the game and learning the basics of its gameplay mechanics, our interest began to fade....

Blizzard has confirmed that the Competitive Mode for Overwatch, which was present in earlier betas, will likely see a return some time in June of this year.
