One of the biggest games of September, Marvel’s Avengers is a game that didn’t entirely live up to everyone’s expectations. There’s a lot of missing elements to the universe that makes it feel more incomplete compared to the MCU. However, even though there’s a lot that’s missing in terms of character selection and even villains the player can fight (everyone’s tired of Taskmaster and Abomination), that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to the game....

Clint Eastwood is undoubtedly an icon of the Western movie genre. His icy cold demeanor in “The Man with No Name” trilogy captivated audiences and solidified his role as a gun-slinging stalwart in Hollywood. Over the course of the succeeding decades, Eastwood would add to his resume a stellar list of Western films that still stand the test of time. All of Eastwood’s Westerns have their merits. The best of the bunch are often (rightfully) recognized as examples of Eastwood’s stellar acting and directorial capabilities....

The GTA series is famed for the amount of hidden content which players can find in its games. One of the most famous examples are the “Hot Coffee” scenes in San Andreas, which Rockstar never actually intended to be found, which depict CJ getting down with a variety of in-game women, and caused major controversy. There are plenty of other well-known Easter eggs too. From shooting the moon with a sniper rifle to change its size, to the shovel and shallow graves outside Catalina’s cabin, and the infamous supposed sightings of Bigfoot and the ghost of CJ’s mother, the games drive fans wild....

While plenty of the Batman: Arkham City community is still buzzing over the reveal of Nightwing as a playable character, Rocksteady has made good on their promise of showing off Robin prior to the game’s release. The new trailer gives a good look at just how unique Robin’s combat style will be against the criminal element of Arkham City. Rocksteady made fairly grand promises, and the first Robin TV Spot left a lot to be desired for fact-starved fans....

The adaptation of popular IPs into video game franchises can be a fickle business. Despite this, it’s hard to argue that one of the greatest success stories of the last generation has been Batman’s Arkham series by Rocksteady Studios. Not only have fans embraced its loving recreation of Gotham’s masked avenger, but its core gameplay mechanics have remained incredibly tight, responsive and entertaining. For the series’ final iteration though, Batman will be seeing his biggest change yet with Batman: Arkham Knight’s jump to next-gen consoles....

It’s no secret that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are approaching the end of their life cycles, now with the better part of a decade under their belts. The most outspoken PC fans have been saying that consoles have been left in the dust for years, some since the consoles first landed on store shelves. But now it seems that even the most modest expectations for Battlefield 3’s visual fidelity on consoles will be lagging sorely behind the PC....

As the first big film of Phase 4 for the MCU, Black Widow has a lot of expectations to live up to. Though the Marvel Studios film has been pushed back quite some time due to the pandemic and was eventually beaten to the punch by WandaVision, there are still countless folks waiting in the wings for the first big-budget superhero flick post-pandemic, giving it a pretty good opportunity to capitalize on the opportunity....

Grinding in video games is hardly a new concept; in the eyes of MMO players, it’s simply a necessary evil that lies in the way of attaining the best loot. Thanks to a prominent glitch in Destiny that allowed players to mow down an infinitely respawning horde of enemies, the term “Loot Cave” has quickly become synonymous with the act of grinding. Not content to be left out of the fun, players have discovered two grinding spots in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and have proceeded to bless them with the same name....

While most of the discussion coming out of the Fortnite panel at Comic-Con today was in regards to Cliff Bleszinski’s revelation that the title would be a PC exclusive and the first Unreal Engine 4 title released none of that says much about the game, besides it looking really great. What Bleszinski, along with Producer Tanya Jessen and Lead Artist Pete Ellis, introduced didn’t tell us too much about Fortnite, but it did answer many of the nagging questions left after that initial Spike VGA reveal....

It’s not easy to produce a game that will please everybody. Often developers must choose between compelling and enjoyable gameplay, or a strongly-written narrative, since mastering both has only been achieved by an elite few. The Gears of War series is no exception, often coming under fire for its desire to mesh heart-wrenching drama with testosterone-drenched bravado. Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski is willing to acknowledge that the studio’s choices haven’t always been the right ones, but believes Gears of War 3 is the first step of many to take the series into more mature territory....

Although Gran Turismo 6 will not be launching on Sony’s new PS4 console, there is still a general sense of enthusiasm for Polyphony Digital’s latest. Yes, it would have been nice to see what stunning, next-gen car models Polyphony could whip up, but some razor sharp simulation racing will have to suffice. However, while Gran Turismo 6 might continue the series’ trend of brutally realistic races, that doesn’t mean Polyphony Digital hasn’t added a few fun surprises....

We first came to know ‘Blood Gulch’ in Halo: Combat Evolved, then saw it reimagined as ‘Coagulation’ in Halo 2 and ‘Valhalla’ in Halo 3. Now, we’ll see the map reborn as ‘Bloodline’ in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. As a mainstay of the series’ hugely popular and much-praised multiplayer, the iconic map has seen considerable changes since its first appearance in 2001. ‘Coagulation’ was a clear evolution from ‘Blood Gulch’, adding in trenches and more cover options, while Valhalla swapped the harsh desert for lush greenery and putting the previously flat map on a tilt....

UPDATE: 343 Industries’ Josh Holmes has come forth to correct a statement that he made to Game Informer regarding the ability to play Halo 5: Guardians’ co-op mode with a Silver Xbox Live membership. Apparently that will NOT be the case, as Holmes claims. Holmes pointed out that the game will come packaged with 14 days of Xbox Live Gold, however, which will allow consumers to enjoy all of the modes in Guardians for two weeks....

The Lost Planet franchise hasn’t exactly been met with the kind of reception that Capcom had hoped, but Lost Planet 3 is set to reboot the series and take it in an entirely new, yet familiar, direction. Fans of the series have been awaiting on an official confirmation for the forthcoming game’s release date for quite some time, and Capcom has finally brought that date to light — along with a brand spanking new trailer, a number of never-before-seen screenshots, and official box art....

We are sad to report on the passing of a real treasure in the voice acting community. Robin Sachs, perhaps best known for his work in several of game developer BioWare’s popular titles, has passed away. The role most will recognize Sachs for is that of Zaeed in both Mass Effect 2 and 3. Zaeed was actually a DLC companion that added a new dynamic to the Mass Effect 2 story, complete with his own loyalty mission....

For months, players have been debating the controversial conclusion to the Commander Shephard Mass Effect trilogy. Despite a mostly positive critical response (read our Mass Effect 3 review), over the days and weeks following the game’s release the fan community expressed significant disappointment over the, arguably underwhelming and convoluted, endings options - which left the fate of key characters up in the air and failed to show how the player’s choices actually impacted the final story beats....

Electronic Arts today confirmed the existence of a rumored piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC at their Summer Showcase. That next DLC offering, titled Leviathan, will be the first piece of single-player focused content released since the launch of Mass Effect 3 back in March. Some might argue that the Extended Cut DLC was the first, but as we all know, that was more in response to fan outcry over an unresolved series of endings than an intended piece of additional content....

We’re still (at least) a full year away from the release of Halo 5: Guardians, but already buzz has begun to build for the next chapter in Master Chief’s journey. In fact, the first phase of that journey will begin later this year – December to be exact – when the Halo 5 multiplayer beta rolls out to Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners. To that end, 343 Industries has revealed how collecting achievements in the Master Chief Collection will benefit Halo 5 beta participants....

With the PC version of Minecraft getting horses and the pocket edition finally getting some attention, it only makes sense that the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft would finally get a bug-fixing update of its own. While a larger update is planned later this summer (and the boxed retail edition being delayed to match), Mojang is preparing for the update by releasing a bug patch touches up a few of the pending errors that have remained in the game since its launch....

A couple days ago we shared news of a petition from change.org asking Activision and Infinity Ward to remake Modern Warfare 2 for current-gen consoles. One avid fan of the game made an impassioned plea to his fellow gamers to sign the petition, which he would then send to Activision once it reached 150,000 signatures. We can now report that the petition has reached its goal, and while 150,000 signatures may not seem like much, considering Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sold millions of copies since it launched in November, it’s definitely enough to get some attention....
