Evolve Saint Patrick S Day Community Event Revealed

After releasing to mixed reviews in mid February, Evolve has seen its fair share of controversies, many of which originate from its heavy reliance on downloadable content. Along with the game being a new IP featuring a number of unique ideas with its 4 versus 1 online only gameplay, Evolve represents a big risk for developer Turtle Rock Studios. Since the game’s release, the studio has been working to keep its player base happy with promises of free content and more recently, community events filled with rewards....

Final Fantasy 7 10 Reasons Why Sephiroth Is Scarier In The Original Game Than The Remake

Sephiroth is one of the most famous video game villains of all time. Although some hardcore Final Fantasy fans might argue that there are many other villains in the franchise who are just as interesting, the game’s popularity did make him the most iconic bad guy of the series. He has a distinct visual design, way of speaking, memorable sword, and terrifying goals. Sephiroth is evil, sometimes sadistic, and undeniably scary....

Kinect Star Wars Launch Trailer Flashlightsabers Go Kart Podracing

It hasn’t been easy to get a glimpse of the Galaxy Far Far Away… at least not when it comes to the forthcoming Kinect Star Wars title - which, despite a few glimpses at leaked gameplay footage, has mostly been marketed using bizarre live-action commercials. That trend continues today, albeit interspersed with actual Kinect Star Wars gameplay footage this round, as LucasArts has released a new trailer for the title - featuring interspersed footage of live-action family members pretending to be Jedi Knights as well as their dreams-coming-true in-game....

Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Multiplayer Gameplay Revealed

Back at E3 2014, we saw a lengthy demo for Metal Gear Solid 5 that included closer looks at the game’s open world stealth options, the return of the Fulton recovery system, and plenty of cardboard box shenanigans. For a 30-minute demo, the Metal Gear Solid 5 presentation was comprehensive, but even so it still felt like we were barely scratching the surface. One area that was initially teased in the MGS5: Phantom Pain demo was Mother Base, a central hub where players collect resources, customize their military, and plan future missions....

Minecraft Given To Every Secondary School In Northern Ireland For Free

Minecraft has become one of the most well known titles in video game history, inspiring legions of gamers to take up their pickaxes in an attempt to build the spectacular. It also inspired Microsoft to pay out an immense $2.5 billion to buy developer Mojang, in a move to cultivate a franchise that has caused in-game creations as varied as a recreation of Destiny raid ‘Crota’s End’ and a 4.5 million block city....

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition Leaked

Over the year we’ve seen several titles re-released with previously separate purchasable updates added to them. Since DLC is an invention of the current generation of consoles, games that were given new additions previously had to be re-released as entirely new games, in order to tide gamers over until the next official sequel was made. Street Fighter was the most infamous for this, but Mortal Kombat was no stranger to it either....

Saints Row Gat Out Of Hell Review

While the original Saints Row drew plenty of criticism for its lack of originality, the franchise has grown over time to become one of the most creative open world titles on the market. From bats that double as sex aids to a full-blown Matrix rip-off, Saints Row found its niche in the absurd, and by and large, fans have been receptive to its new approach. In keeping with that theme, Volition has just released Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, a standalone expansion that builds off Saints Row 4’s concepts but takes them to new extremes....

Sideway New York Review

Sideway: New York, developed by Playbrains is aiming to change gamer-perspective on platformers. The main draw of this title is that players traverse the environment as 2D artwork on buildings and various other 3D structures. The mix of the two dimensions makes for some interesting and fun platforming puzzles. The game is part of Sony’s “Only On PlayStation” program where they offer exclusive titles (such as the recently released Rochard) at a reasonable price for PSN users....

The Third Echelon black ops task force didn’t endure the happiest of endings after Splinter Cell: Conviction, so say hello to its replacement (and cleanup crew): Fourth Echelon....

Star Citizen Crowdfunding Hits Ultimate 20 Million Goal

In a stroke of genius, developer Cloud Imperium Games released an interactive teaser for their highly anticipated space combat sim Star Citizen last month. For players interested in the ambitious triple-A PC game, the idea of walking around and boarding a starship from the game more than a year before it’s release was exciting - and that’s exactly what they delivered in the form of the ‘Hangar Module’. An idea that’s so simple in theory, but oddly vacant from video games - not unlike the genre itself - couldn’t have emerged at a better time....

Uncharted 3 And Ninja Gaiden Sigma Added To Playstation Now

When Sony’s PlayStation Now was first announced, many gamers balked at the high prices Sony was asking to rent a single game. Still, the idea of being able to play PlayStation 3 games over the Internet had promise and things started looking a little better for the streaming service once the PlayStation Now subscription service was launched. The monthly price of $19.99 still seemed a little steep to some, but it was definitely a move in the right direction, and Sony promised the service would gain more value as more games were added to the catalog....

10 Best Video Game Studios That Don T Exist Anymore

For as big of an industry as video gaming is and has been for decades now, it’s still a somewhat fickle and unsteady business on the developer level. Developers can have huge success for years, yet can still find themselves only one flop and/or acquisition away from going out of business. A relatively small number of game studios operating today probably don’t feel like they are on thin ice and are only a couple of creative or commercial missteps away from being shuttered....

10 Games To Play If You Liked Life Is Strange

Having fist released in early 2015, Life Is Strange didn’t take long to find a dedicated fan base among the gaming community. The second game from developer Dontnod, Life Is Strange was praised for its character development and interesting narrative. Though the game does fall short in a lot of ways, it’s an interesting enough experience that its faults don’t ruin the experience. While the game did receive a sequel, it couldn’t quite recapture what made the original so great....

10 Hidden Items In Demon S Souls Ps5 And Where To Find Them

The Soulsborne games have built up a reputation for difficulty, to the point where it’s not unusual to see any remotely challenging game being directly compared to Dark Souls. For as hard as FromSoftware’s staple series is, however, the franchise’s first title never actually emphasized difficulty – rather, it simply weaponized smart level & boss design that played against the impatient play styles that infected the medium by the time the PS3 launched....
