In a move that is sure to surprise absolutely nobody, Electronic Arts President Frank Gibeau has confirmed that there will be a Battlefield 4. Speaking during a USC keynote, Gibeau simply said this year’s iteration will receive a numbered sequel, and that was it. While this isn’t much to go on, given that Modern Warfare 3 just released it has to be a strategic move on EA’s part to let this little bit of information slip....

Coming out of the last beta, and with only three weeks to go before the game’s release, Electronic Arts and Visceral Games announce that Battlefield Hardline has officially (not to be confused with those rumors, apparently) gone gold. If you’re unaware, a game “going gold” generally means that development has been completed on the game, and is now off for disc production and additional preparation before hitting store (and digital) shelves....

While Activision had hoped to officially unveil this year’s Call of Duty as part of an Internet-wide promotional push on Sunday May 4th, it appears the universe had other plans. Instead, the first official trailer from the game made its way online (read: leaked) late Thursday night, giving gamers their first look at Sledgehammer Games’ new title. As the trailer above shows, many of the rumors surrounding this year’s iteration were, in fact, true....

After a slight delay, update 1.2.0 finally released for Destiny late last week, bringing with it a number of big changes to the game including Crucible adjustments and tweaks to reputation and mark gains. Along with those key improvements, players also saw the return of the Queen’s Emissary, bringing along new bounties and rewards. While fans are in the final countdown for Destiny’s new House of Wolves content, player attention for the time being has been focused on one of those new bounty rewards called Treasure Keys....

After domains for a game titled Fable Legends were discovered shifting to Microsoft’s servers, and big announcements expected during this week at Gamescom 2013 in Germany, could the next game in the storied Fable series be set to debut on the Xbox One?...

After a year and a half of waiting, players were thrilled to finally receive the long-promised GTA Online Heists. And despite a few hiccups at launch last week, players have been logging long hours robbing banks, stealing documents and assassinating targets – all for a healthy payout. While the money is definitely good in the heists, GTA Online players quickly discovered that they could increase their bounty many times over by completing Rockstar Games-designated challenges within the heist missions....

Many years ago, Marvel almost had their very own traditional MMO. It was in development from a partnership between Microsoft, Marvel and Cryptic Studios (City of Heroes) but it ended up getting canned. Cryptic used the assets and was able to salvage their work, reshaping it into Champions Online, and for Marvel, they later signed a 10-year deal with Gazillion Entertainment to exclusively develop online Marvel games. First came the kids-only Marvel Super Hero Squad Online, and next on the docket is an MMORPG from David Brevik, one of the minds behind the Diablo 1 & 2....

The developers of the NHL series have made it clear for years now that their march forward in terms of simulation and veracity is unwavering, with NHL 13 being closer to the real thing (for good and bad) than players had ever experienced. But what about those who claim that simulation is overrated? Luckily, NHL 14 won’t be leaving casual fans - or simply those looking for a less punishing game to play with friends - in the dust, announcing the brand new ‘NHL 94 Anniversary’ mode that will be included with the retail game....

The first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 might be right around the corner, but today Capcom pushed its release back ever so slightly. Now, instead of February 17th the first piece of the four-episode collection will launch on February 24th, and the remaining episodes will slide back by a week each. Capcom says that the decision to push Resident Evil: Revelations 2 stems from a neeed to polish and optimize gameplay for their upcoming current-gen and last-gen release....

Rugrats is a classic animated kids show from the ’90s era of Nickelodeon that hasn’t had much of a mainstream presence for over a decade now. Although the original show ended in 1994, the series retained popularity via a long stretch of re-runs and the occasional spin-off, leaving fans with little in the way of new content for many many years. Fairly soon, however, that looks to be changing thanks to Paramount Plus....

Unless you have been living under a rock, it would be difficult to imagine not having heard about the various lag issues that have plagued the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Despite some of the graphical issues that effected the Xbox 360 Skyrim version shortly after release, nothing prepared PS3 gamers for the unrelenting drop in frame rate as the file size of their save continued to grow....

One of the coolest - and most secretive - previews of last year’s E3 was that of Star Trek, a new game from Paramount that was being developed by Digital Extremes (BioShock 2, Unreal Tournament, Dark Sector, The Darkness II). It’s visuals, Mass Effect style gameplay and built-for-co-op structure impressed us enough that it made our list of most anticipated games of 2012. Little did we know that the sci-fi action RPG would not actually be coming out this year....

The 2015 Star Wars Celebration might be winding down, but the flow of new information hasn’t slowed down at all. Earlier this morning, director Gareth Edwards revealed that his upcoming Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, centers on the theft of the Death Star plans prior to Star Wars: Episode IV. Similarly, while Friday morning’s presentation delivered the bulk of the information regarding Star Wars: Battlefront, DICE and Electronic Arts haven’t stopped dropping new facts here and there....

Assassin’s Creed Unity is set to bring players right into the heart of rebellion. The upcoming title in the free-running, stealth-killing series is set during the French Revolution, as shown in this recent cinematic story trailer. However, since more details on the title were revealed at E3, Ubisoft has had discontent of its own to deal with. Some savvy gamers noticed that there was no female character option for the lauded four-player co-op mode, and asked questions of Ubisoft as to why they had taken this step....

It’s been a busy time for Respawn Entertainment. The Titanfall developer has been working on an update for its multiplayer first-person shooter, bringing with it a Black Market and in-game currency. Not only that, but Respawn Entertainment has also had the upcoming Frontier’s Edge DLC map pack to work on, with both that and the update set to be released at the end of the month. Despite this, it seems as though a whopping five game updates and two DLC map packs since Titanfall’s launch in March is not enough for the developer....
