After a prolonged period of silence, 343 Industries is finally ready to start talking about Halo 4. The first official Halo 4 gamplay video premiered at the beginning of the week, along with screenshots of Master Chief in his new armor. The video offers a great overview of the forthcoming game, but there are plenty of questions left to be answered. For now, the team at 343 Industries is remaining tight-lipped on a number of specifics, though Halo Franchise Development Director Frank O’Connor took the time to answer a number of fan-submitted questions on the Halo Waypoint website....

During the early part of the year, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has been rapidly gaining favor among gamers both hardcore and casual. Obviously, a collectible card game isn’t going to be for everyone, but those who do give the game a chance have found Hearthstone to be an extremely addictive experience, albeit one that required sitting down at a PC to play. Starting today, however, those bonds of PC gameplay have been broken, as Hearthstone has made its official debut on Apple’s iPad....

Gamers looking to get the full scoop on Injustice: Gods Among Us’ full roster should look no further. Late yesterday, a developer at NetherRealm Studios tweeted out a picture of the fully functioning roster, before promptly taking it down. However, as we all know, once it goes up on the Internet, it likely never goes away. And so we now have the game’s character selection screen to pore over. While it doesn’t outright reveal any new roster additions, the character screen for Injustice does confirm three characters that had only been rumored: Killer Frost, Ares, and Hawkgirl (who had actually been featured in a brief video)....

Well, that didn’t take long. Shortly after prolific developer Hideo Kojima revealed he had a big Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement to make, many begun speculating as to what the creator might unveil. Most figured it would be MGS 5: The Phantom Pain’s release date, and as it turns out they were right. While Kojima and IGN had initially hoped to make the announcement on Wednesday, the video for the reveal leaked a little early....

When GSC Game World closed its doors, the PC gaming world lost a promising studio. The Ukrainian developer created the STALKER series, and the initial game, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, gained a cult following. Set in an alternative reality where Chernobyl suffered a second nuclear disaster, STALKER was praised for its immersive game world, claustrophobic atmosphere, and gameplay that was more than a little unforgiving. GSC followed up on Shadow of Chernobyl’s success with the prequel STALKER: Clear Sky, as well as a sequel called STALKER: Call of Pripyat....

Though Transformers: Fall of Cybertron doesn’t release until Tuesday of next week, developer High Moon Studios thought it more important to release launch trailers for the game while most eyes are trained on the video game world. As the highly anticipated follow-up to War for Cybertron, Fall promises to be a return to form, washing away the flawed movie tie-in that was Dark of the Moon. In addition to building on War for Cybertron’s eclectic and compelling base, Fall of Cybertron pushes the Transformer count to its limits, featuring the likes of Grimlock and Metroplex (a gigantic, city-sized Transformer) in the same game....

Magic: The Gathering’s new “Jumpstart” set is unlike anything we’ve seen from Wizards of the Coast before. Rather than packs containing completely randomized assortments of cards, each pack possesses cards that all fall within one of many randomized themes. If a player opens two packs and shuffles them together, they will then have a fully playable dual themed deck! As is the case with any Magic set, “Jumpstart” contains numerous new legendary creatures....

Everyone has a story about the first MMO they played, even if it was just a LAN party at a friend’s house. It certainly feels like the gaming community has been playing Skyrim for decades. With the numerous re-releases and the active modding community, the immense fanbase that this game has accrued over the years is well deserved. At this point, the Skyrim name is almost more recognizable than “The Elder Scrolls.” With The Elder Scrolls 6 being announced and the gaming world anticipating another unbelievable adventure in the next generation of consoles, there are many things that fans would love to see carried over from Skyrim and improved in the next iteration of the legendary series....

Pikmin fans are no strangers to the concept of waiting. With nine years separating the second and third Pikmin games and a further seven passing since the release of the latter, they’ve done their fair share of it. Although Pikmin 3 Deluxe may not be the return that fans had been hoping for, it’s an indication that the series is still very much in the thoughts of Nintendo. It’s a cause for hope....
