Here at Game Rant, we understand how important it is to have a dependable multiplayer experience: we play games too after all. And just like many of our readers, Gears of War 3 has not only been ripping apart charts, but also the multiplayer scene too. With Epic outlining the first run of DLC and Achievement weekends, it’s almost like nothing will be able to stop the Bro-train. That is… until something like a glitch or a bug stops gamers from enjoying their game....

If the Halo series has become known for something other than its dense mythology and unpredictable gameplay, it’s a sense of humor. It’s one of the things that distinguished the series from so many other ‘space marine’ adventures, and kept players scouring every nook and cranny for flourishes and inside-jokes. It’s no surprise then that Easter eggs and hidden items are already being found within Halo 4, ranging from the mildly odd to downright hilarious....

You may not be familiar with it, but in the weeks and months to come, expect to hear a lot more about a little game called ‘Grifball.’ The popular game mode originating from the Red Vs. Blue web series has developed a rabid fan base over the years since its creation in Halo 3 multiplayer, and only shows signs of growing in popularity. At PAX Prime 2012, 343 Industries gave good news to fans of the sport by confirming that not only will Grifball be supported in Halo 4, but that the development team has come up with a few new changes that could take Grifball to a whole new level....

Although the fall season isn’t nearly as crowded as it once was, there are still plenty of exciting titles worth keeping an eye on later this year. One upcoming game that has caught our eye, and is sure to be worth a look this fall, is Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the new action RPG from Monolith and Warner Bros. While we’ve already covered Shadow of Mordor at length in hands-on previews, trailer reveals, and gameplay details posts, the game still needs a few more components before it comes into full focus....

While this morning’s news wasn’t great for Mortal Kombat fans stuck with last-generation consoles, other Mortal Kombat X players can finally stop holding their breath: fan-favorite character Tanya and the Klassic Pack #1 DLC will arrive a week from today. That doesn’t come as much of a surprise - just yesterday, series creator Ed Boon revealed that Tanya would hit in early June - but now it’s official: the Klassic Pack will be available on June 2 for players who purchased Mortal Kombat X’s Kombat Pack (essentially, the game’s season pass), and June 9 for everyone else....

During Capcom’s panel for Resident Evil 6 at Comic-Con, the developer showed off quite a bit of new footage for their hotly anticipated survival horror title, including a new trailer exclusively created for the event. They have since released the trailer, which you can find above, to help fans get a better sense of Leon and Chris’ campaigns in the game. While Leon’s campaign specifically is purported to be a return to the franchise’s survival horror roots, complete with the return of zombies, this particular section from Chris’ campaign is actually the more tense of the two....

Only a few short weeks remain until Santa Claus makes his global trip, spreading presents and holiday cheer to all the good girls and boys of the world - a group that apparently doesn’t include the leader of the Third Street Saints. Given the plot and action of Saints Row 4, we can’t say we’re shocked. But the Saints won’t let their fearless leader sit by as Santa falls under attack, meaning it’s up to the gang to save Christmas....

In its nearly 2 decade run on the air South Park has seemingly covered every pop culture or political topic under the sun. They’ve tackled everything from The Hobbit to alien abductions, Kickstarter to Food Network. Sometimes the writers at South Park even tackle a gaming-related topic or two, and usually those episodes become instant classics. Who can forget the World of Warcraft episode from season 10? However, this past two weeks has delivered a series of episodes that are sure to become instant favorites among gamers....

As online play and connectivity become more prominent in the game industry, some feel as though couch co-op has been forgotten. A few developers have tried to amend by incorporating split screen into online modes, with Lightbox’s Starhawk being the latest game to utilize the coveted feature. Starhawk will offer two player split screen during online play, an unfortunate step down from the four player split screen Warhawk offered. Sony says this was a hard decision to make, but they made the call due to not enough people using Warhawk’s 4 player option....

With the game facing an imminent release, fans have been getting sneak peaks of the many facets of Thief’s intricate stealth gameplay. A host of interesting mechanics and a striking setting can only take a title so far if they don’t play well, however. To quell such fears, Eidos Montreal have released an uncut video of the game’s first mission. Taking place after a “heist gone wrong,” the game’s protagonist, Garrett, is tasked with making his way through the rainy streets of The City on his way back to his clocktower hideout....

With a little over a month until Watch Dogs (finally!) hits store shelves, Ubisoft has begun to significantly ramp up promotion for their upcoming open world title. They’ve given gamers a closer look at the world of Watch Dogs in the form of hands-on previews, detailed some platform exclusive content, and even provided a closer look at the game’s version of Chicago. Still, while it may feel like many of the essential nuts and bolts of Watch Dogs have been appropriately teased/detailed, there are a few peripheral elements worth taking a closer look at....

The idea of anything even remotely challenging being labeled as the Dark Souls of its genre has become such an overused term at this point that people will inevitably roll their eyes whenever this comparison is brought up. This is perhaps why Remnant: From The Ashes was ignored by the majority of gamers when it was initially released…which turned out to be quite a massive mistake, since Remnant: From The Ashes is considered by many to be one of the most challenging and fun third-person shooters around....

Older gamers who spent most of the early 2000s playing console first-person shooters received a pleasant surprise when THQ announced the return of the TimeSplitters series. As of now it is only a confirmation of the game’s existence and many crucial returning team members, including David Doak and Steve Ellis. The Final Fantasy franchise is one of the longest running video game series out there, and it shows no signs of stopping. Since its inception in 1987, there have been more entries than one could shake a stick at. Japanese RPGs are plentiful, but none have struck a chord with the world quite like Square Soft’s - now Square Enix - creation. While the series has produced several of the greatest games of all time, it should be noted that not every entry was golden....

Using time travel in any media is rough. Most of the time, the act of traveling through time does nothing but make things confusing and/or remove all sense of urgency or consequence from any narrative. But, out of everything, time travel tends to work best in video games, primarily because it’s a fun mechanic to use. And no, we don’t mean games where you can change the in-game “time” for secrets like the Animal Crossing games; we’re talking about IPs where time manipulation is a core part of the game and/or story....

The Demon’s Souls game, both the original and the remake, are incredibly beloved by fans. The original was considered to be ahead of its time by many, and the remake is seen as a very faithful adaptation of a game that is already phenomenal. The players love a game like this for the challenge that it offers and the incredible lore behind it. The lore in Souls-like games is unlike any other....

Majima Everywhere is a feature in the Yakuza games that is literally what it sounds like. Basically, the character Goro Majima drops on the main character Kazuma Kiryu for a fight any chance he can get. The purpose is to get Kiryu in shape again after he has lost most of his dragon abilities after being in prison for ten years. The stories involved in the Majima Everywhere feature are hilarious and memorable enough that they have inspired the creation of several excellent memes....
