Outer Worlds came out in October of 2019 and it was a lovely combination of Fallout and Elders Scrolls mechanics but put into a hyper-capitalist space adventure. Fans loved the game, and want more. While waiting in hopes of more content though, we can only replay the adventure. Ubisoft’s Anno series is a longtime staple in the city building genre, though it sometimes gets overshadowed by more mainstream titles like the now-infamous SimCity. Despite this, the series has released consistently entertaining titles for the PC market and is now looking to broaden their appeal to a larger audience with the introduction of a free-to-play MMORPG edition of the game called Anno Online. Capable of being played on low end computers and with an easy-going interface, the game is certainly casting a large net of appeal in the hopes of bringing in a wide array of different players....
The hugely popular Borderlands franchise showed no sign of slowing down in 2014, with the release of a well-received first instalment of Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands series as well as the moon-based eccentricities of The Pre-Sequel. Now, 2K and Gearbox have announced that 2015 will see The Handsome Collection assemble the full Handsome Jack saga in one handy package. High definition versions of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel will all be included in the collection, as well as all the downloadable content released for those titles....
Black Ops was the first Treyarch-developed Call of Duty title that really made a statement of its own. Up until that point, Treyarch had been the neglected stepchild to Infinity Ward’s beloved A+ all-star - who was enjoying the spoils of a modern war. However, now that gamers have been given a taste of what Treyarch can cook up when given the reigns to Activision’s prized franchise, and carte blanche to tell their own story, that puts significant more weight on their subsequent iteration: Black Ops 2....
The journey from survival-themed ArmA II mod to full-on standalone game has been a long and public one for Dean Hall’s DayZ. It’s been over a full year since developers announced the game was undergoing a major engine change and Hall vocalized the amount of frustration and depression he was experiencing as a result of the project’s setbacks. Delays continued through the start of 2013, but the project is now moving forward and the developers have even shared some gameplay footage of the standalone survival horror game....
The superhero comic has been called “the mythology of the modern era” by some - in the sense that they are inspiring stories involving incredible, superhuman characters doing things no human being could accomplish, while also giving some sort of message to learn. That said, unfortunately, even the comic book industry is a business. Hence the “business decision” by DC Comics to reboot all of their franchises - and start over from square one....
As far as hooks go, you could do a whole lot worse than offering to let gamers play as a dragon who wears a jetpack, and for many this single image alone will be enough to convince them to put down coin for Larian Studios’ new RPG/RTS steampunk fantasy game Divinity: Dragon Commander. Split into three different game phases - a point-and-click exploration of your ship and its inhabitants, a Risk-style world map around involves strategically placing units in turn-based gameplay, and sprawling battlefields where forward-thinking is crucial - Divinity: Dragon Commander is clearly trying to appeal to gamers of widely varying preferences and sensibilities....
[HTML1] Although Turtle Rock Studios’ new cooperative/competitive FPS Evolve draws some inspiration from the development team’s previous work on the Left 4 Dead franchise, it is a decidedly different game. In fact, it may be one of the most unique games releasing this year, and as a result it ranked pretty high on our must-play list for E3 2014. We had several opportunities to play Evolve throughout the show, both at 2K Games’ booth and at other promotional events, which is important because Evolve is not a game that is easily digested in one sitting....
It’s true that Forza Motorsport is a series well-known for classy limited editions, with the last generation featuring a slick black matte finish encasing the goods - like a fine cigar box. This year will feature a similar styling, but a little more content then players are used to getting - provided, of course, that you pick up the game on day one. Forza Motorsport 4 has plenty of pre-order goodies, but it’s nothing to compare to the now-revealed Limited Edition....

Fulfilling the role of the multiplayer shooter in Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade XBLA season is Hybrid, a unique 3v3 shooter from Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell. While 5th Cell has been known for stretching gamers’ imaginations in terms of item creation and customization, Hybrid is based on a concrete idea - one that enjoys some pretty compelling variations. Many horror games that have been released within the past few years feel like clones of one another with dark, narrow hallways and jump scares lurking around every corner, so it’s always refreshing to see a game that subverts the horror genre with tongue-and-cheek humor. Though Lakeview Cabin Collection is a pixelated sidescroller, the game feels very cinematic, not only due to the classic spooky cabin backdrop, but with a clever intro level that allows the player to walk into a movie theater and “watch” Lakeview Cabin III....
If there was any voice actor controversy to top Kevin Conroy not voicing Batman in Arkham Origins, it would have to be David Hayter not voicing Old Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5. Hayter, along with the likes of Nolan North, Conroy, and Mark Hamil is one of the few voice actors who is inextricably linked with his character. And so, when Hideo Kojima broke the news that Hayter’s services would not be solicited for Metal Gear Solid 5, fans were up in arms....
Acclaimed ninja Ryu Hayabusa, central character of the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3, is a man of emotion. He is a man capable of hurting inside, despite the viciously brutal and exact methods in which he dispatches foes with his family’s katana (or other weapons). In a recent interview, Game Director Yosuke Hayashi touches upon changes made to the gameplay and philosophy of Ninja Gaiden 3. Ninja Gaiden 3 will move away from the second game’s emphasis on incredible amounts of violence via the Obliteration Technique (in which Ryu more or less had to cut all of his enemies in half to kill them)....

For example, 1998 played host to two different meteor-related disaster flicks, while 2013 gave us two takes on a prospective White House attack. Of course, this curious rule of two doesn’t just apply to release dates, but also with announcements, as the recent reveals of Outrise and Evolve aptly demonstrate. One is a squad-based shooter with sci-fi trimmings and a playable boss character and the other — well, you get the idea....
Operation Raccoon City provides a different take on the Resident Evil series by offering a team-based shooter, and while the game couldn’t have asked for a better set of ingredients to create a unique and exciting perspective during a popular period in the series, Operation Raccoon City lacks in just about every departement, most notably the chilling atmosphere the series is known for - leaving the only real scares coming from its atrocious gameplay....
