The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has already made headlines with its impressive detail, map size, and game length. Moreover, those who have seen the game’s trailers and 4K screenshots have generally been very positive about the The Witcher 3’s potential. One would think the amount of detail in the game would lead to some troublesome and lengthy load times. However, it looks like that is far from the truth. In an interview with GameSpot, Witcher 3 senior environmental artist, Jonas Mattsson, revealed that gamers won’t experience any load times as they move through the game world....

Anti-heroes can be difficult to write, but one way to immediately make them more sympathetic is simply by making sure that they’re the least evil character in the room. Garrett, the protagonist of the Thief series, lives in a city that seems to be largely occupied by despots, bullies and snobs, and by comparison he’s actually quite the charmer. Vicarious Visions have done a superb job of developing one of the biggest game releases of September and breathing life back into a franchise that was on the brink of collapse. With the new year comes the inevitable release of a new Assassin’s Creed title. Yes, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China debuted last month, and could certainly fulfill Ubisoft’s yearly quota, but it’s not considered to be an entry in the main series of games. In 2015, that particular honor will go to Assassin’s Creed: Victory, which was prematurely announced to the world last year near the release of its soon to be predecessor, Assassin’s Creed: Unity....

While at an exclusive party on the Jackdaw, Edward Kenway’s ship in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, we were treated to a very brief showcase of Ubisoft’s upcoming slate. As such, Ubisoft had a multiplayer demo of the game on hand for six players to try their hand at assassinating each other while, at the same time, not getting assassinated themselves....

When Rocksteady Studios blew away fans of comic books and action gaming with the surprise hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, fans were immediately hungry for another chance to embody the Dark Knight. It’s hard to believe, but over two years has passed since that game’s release, and we’re less than one month away from the follow-up Batman: Arkham City’s release. While the game may boast a massive campaign it’s clear that the developers haven’t rushed their work....

While Battlefield 4 players across the globe are lamenting their inability to participate in the game’s multiplayer experience, one whole nation has seemingly dodged a bullet. Battlefield 4, DICE’s latest entry in their hugely popular shooter franchise, has been banned in China. Although Battlefield 4 has yet to reach Chinese shores for retail, the country has already decided to ban the game. Specifically, they cite Battlefield 4’s China Rising DLC and the public perception the content creates as a major determining factor in the ban....

At their E3 2014 press conference, Electronic Arts officially unveiled one of the biggest unkept secrets of the year. Battlefield Hardline is real, it’s coming later this year, and gamers have an opportunity to play it right now. But first, Electronic Arts showed off the same trailer that leaked last week, only this time in an officially official context. The trailer teased some of the game’s story, which reportedly follows an LAPD beat cop named Nick Mendoza....

The next generation of consoles is upon us and millions of gamers are either buying a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, or optimistically putting them on their Christmas wishlist before handing it to their richest relative. The season has also brought with it a host of brand new games designed to sweeten up the new console launches and ensure that there’s plenty of games to gift during the holiday season. Love it or hate it, there’s one franchise that has once again come out on top during the new consoles’ launch....

By some metrics, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare might be the biggest entertainment release of the year – emphasis on might – but it’s not likely to be 2014’s most profitable game. That title’s probably going to go to League of Legends, the online battle arena game that makes roughly $1.7 million per day. In fact, League of Legends is so far ahead of the pack in terms of revenue that only a couple of other games even come close....

Much like PC players of Call of Duty typically get the short end of the stick, so will members of the PC faction of Call of Duty Elite be getting a somewhat stunted experience. Not stunted in the way that Call of Duty Elite’s breadth of features won’t be available to PC gamers, stunted in that the service will not be launching alongside Modern Warfare 3 next week. Unfortunately, since the PC is inherently a platform prone to malfeasance (more on that later) Call of Duty Elite developer Beachhead Studio can’t give the service the green light just yet....
