Titanfall held immense pressure on its shoulders prior to release last year, as it was coming from a brand new studio, a new IP set in the crowded first-person shooter genre, and was Microsoft’s show piece for its brand new Xbox One console. Even with all that pressure, Titanfall proved to be a mediocre success for the Xbox brand and Respawn Entertainment alike with the game selling decently. With the game well over a year old now, gamers have begun to wonder what Respawn Entertainment is planning going forward....

If you’re a member of the modding community for Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls games then you may already be familiar with the development team at Druid Gameworks. Having created a range of mods for both Oblivion and Skyrim, including the expansion pack Reclaiming Sancre Tor, the studio is now laying down plans for its first independent single-player RPG. Unwritten: Echoes of Twilight is set in “the world of Arthanswold” and particularly in “the heartland isles of Aerendwel and Byre....

This interest has spread out to more than just gaming, with Netflix publishing it’s own anime series based on the title....

Attack on Titan is currently in the middle of airing the final season of the popular anime series. The show introduced the world to three kids who were destined to change the world around them or die trying. Mikasa isn’t the central character of the show, but fans have fallen in love with her due to how incredible she is in combat. It also helps that she’s a great representation of capable and talented female characters that stand toe-to-toe or exceed their male counterparts....

Coral Island was a Kickstarter that was recently funded and reached a whopping 2341% of its goal. The game drew in players with a competent layout, a video showing the game’s features, and the sheer amount of passion that could be felt from the dev team. Instead of following in the footsteps of other farm sims, the game is poised to break many traditions to make Coral Island a phenomenal title and one of the most inventive simulation titles gamers have seen since the release of Stardew Valley....

Tsukihime celebrated its twentieth birthday this past December which is a huge milestone for both the series and its creator Type-Moon. For those unfamiliar, this is a series regarding the stories of the high school character Shiki Tohno and his chance encounter with a vampire. Shiki has a special ability to see something called death lines, the threads that represent the lifelines of both humans and supernatural beings. The story can go in different routes depending on the player’s choices....

The development of Resident Evil 4 was a long and complicated process with multiple versions of the game scrapped before the final product was finally released. Some of those early versions were presented to fans before issues arose and they were abandoned, leading to those lost versions becoming known as Resident Evil 3.5. Resident Evil 4 ended up being a divisive entry, with some feeling it was a deviation from the Resident Evil series while others saw it as bold and fresh....

Goro Takemura is one of the companions that players can have in Cyberpunk 2077. As the former bodyguard to Sabura Arasaka, Takemura has plenty of reasons to accompany V on their mission to defeat Yorinobu. Players will even have the chance to get to know Takemura if they’re so inclined. But Takemura himself is a bit of an enigma. There is only so much players can get out of him, and even then, they can miss key details....

Although neither Treyarch nor Activision had yet to formally confirm it, more and more details are mounting that suggest the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC will indeed be called Revolution. While we certainly would have liked to delve into the nitty gritty of Bloodborne, our questions are general in nature, mostly because at the time we had yet to actually play From Software’s PS4 exclusive. Microsoft heavily relied on Titanfall in its launch window, using it to market an Xbox One bundle that included the game. For the first time in several iterations the Call of Duty franchise is getting a significant overhaul. With this year’s release, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Infinity Ward is bringing the blockbuster series into the next-gen with a new engine, new story, and new gameplay mechanics. As of late, however, we have only been hearing about the game’s single player elements, with nary a peep about the multiplayer. That will change very soon, though, as a full Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal is right around the corner....

When the prospect of Grasshopper Manufacture, a developer known for delivering some of the most insane video game properties imaginable, teaming up with Microsoft’s Kinect is tossed around, it’s a safe bet that the topic of baseball isn’t the first thing that comes mind. However, that’s what Grasshopper Manufacture delivered for their first Kinect outing: a motion-controlled baseball game titled Diabolical Pitch. Of course, with this being Grasshopper Manufacture and all, this isn’t just a typical pitching simulator, or something that is meant to bring the family together, this is Kinect Sports on drugs....

Microtransactions started as an innocent concept that allowed struggling MMOs to survive by going free-to-play. Most of them, in fact, have embraced the concept rather successfully. Instead of asking players to buy a monthly subscription for a game, it allows gamers to invest exactly as much as they wanted to in a game, while letting everyone else at least try them for free. More recently, publishers have taken note and started introducing DLC-esque items within full-price games and in some cases, holding content back behind a pay wall, essentially nickel-and-diming players....

Even though the upcoming release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is exciting more so to fans of the original than gamers who haven’t played the title before, developer 343 Industries has revealed they are trying to capture audiences young and old in their two future endeavors. With Halo Anniversary, they are clearly trying to recapture the magic that was felt two years ago when gamers first stepped into the shoes of Master Chief....

The original 1997 film, based on the 1973 Lois Duncan novel also titled I Know What You Did Last Summer, followed a group of teenagers being relentlessly stalked by a mysterious killer a year after they had accidentally killed a man in a car crash. The new series aims to be a modern retelling of the novel’s story, just like the film was at the time. After 2015’s Scream (as well as the upcoming fifth film in the Scream franchise), this new series seems to be the latest attempt to bring back the popular 90s slasher genre....

Tom Holland spent a lot of time during his turn as Nathan Drake trying to look cool, and he isn’t too thrilled with that. We’re going to be seeing a lot of Tom Holland in the near future, and in roles that test our perception of the young actor. That Spider-Man innocence is about to go out the window for Cherry, a movie that casts him as a bank-robbing addict. Then, we’ll be seeing him play the wisecracking action hero Nathan Drake from Uncharted....
