This number, when combined with the 440,000 units sold for the PS3 version of the game, resulted in CoD4 going double platinum on one month’s worth of console sales alone and fulfilling the predictions that the scrappy shooter would outsell Halo 3....

The Assassin’s Creed film has been gestating for quite a while now at New Regency. Rumors about the film started appearing as early as 2011, but in recent years, the project has made serious progress. Originally, the film was supposed to come out this year, but delays pushed filming to this September, with a projected December 2016 release date. Details on the film itself remain scarce. So far, there’s only been rumors as to the movie’s possible setting and whether or not it will feature any characters from the games....

When fans have exhausted all of the potential content a game has to offer, and they still crave another play-through of the title, those gamers often concoct challenges for themselves involving incredibly limiting stipulations. Although it’s a feature not currently highlighted by any of the game’s trailers or screenshots, DriveClub Game Director Paul Rustchynsky (the game’s second Game Director) has revealed the title will offer playable female drivers. Rustchynsky confirmed the news over Twitter in response to a fan question about being able to choose a feminine character. While most gamers will be completely unaware whether their driver is female or male, giving them the option is a smart move on Evolution Studios’ part....

A couple of new trailers have dropped for the upcoming addition to the Driver series, Driver: San Francisco. Back at E3 2010 fans were told Driver: San Francisco takes place in comatose dreams of the main character - so the player gains the ability to shape his surroundings. While some of the proposed elements have changed over the last year, if the new trailers are any indication, fans should brace for a crazy trip through one of the biggest sandbox environments ever created in a video game....

Parkour enthusiasts shall inherit the Earth, or what’s left of it, at least. In Techland’s latest zombie romp only motion truly matters and standing still means death. Starting out amongst the sun-cracked slums of an unnamed shantytown, the unfortunate denizens of Dying Light’s debut trailer are on the hunt. Their target: a supply drop located somewhere inside the city. Dispatching the undead by day turns to ghoulish retribution at night as the pack of humans withers with worrying speed....

While EA Play, EA’s own subscription service, is now included with Xbox Game Pass, adding a wealth of titles to Microsoft’s service, it was only available on the Xbox consoles, much to the disappointment of PC users. Thankfully, that’s not going to be a problem anymore as Microsoft has announced that EA Play is finally coming to Game Pass on PC and it’s happening tomorrow on March 18th at 2 pm PT....

One of this year’s most anticipated games is without a doubt Grand Theft Auto 5. With the franchise having been missing in action for over five years, a new installment is exactly what the doctor ordered. Gamers are understandably amped for the next Grand Theft Auto’s imminent arrival, and the fabled developer responsible for the series, Rockstar Games, can already smell blood in the water. To help get gamers excited, Rockstar has decided to release a new trailer that showcases more of what fans can expect from the game later this year....

We are still more than six months away from the release of Halo 5: Guardians, but that hasn’t kept 343 Studios and Xbox from greasing up the hype train. This last week, the developer kicked off the Hunt the Truth campaign with a podcast and updates from a fictitious war journalist and photographer, Benjamin Giraud, who has been documenting the Master Chief’s successes in battle. However, thanks to the Hunt the Truth campaign, it seems everything we know about Master Chief may be a lie....

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is an odd creature. Coming from a cutscene and story-heavy series that relies on stealth and patience from players, Revengeance throws that out the window with fast action and sword slicing. Raiden’s portraying has evolved radically since his introduction in Metal Gear Solid 2, and the newest incarnation of the infamous hero might be the most impressive one yet. For those who are not familiar with the Metal Gear Solid series, the first time players took control of Raiden, he was a frightened moron running around without clothes on, flipping through the air while covering his genitals to dodge oncoming bullets of fully clothed soldiers....

It’s not uncommon to see hotly-anticipated games these days also release a more expensive, bells-and-whistles edition of the title. These special editions will usually have some exclusive goodies, whether that consist of DLC before its public release, a copy of the soundtrack, or some collectible item for you to show off to your buddies. It appears as though Sonic Generations will enjoy the same treatment with it’s collector’s edition, chock full of special goodies to entice Sonic fans into spending a little extra cash....

If you were one of the lucky few to get into the Starhawk private beta but still haven’t got around to playing it, then do we have some sad news for you, the beta will be coming to a close on January 3rd, so now’s the time to boot it up and get to playing! The Starhawk private beta was only open to those who signed up on the Starhawk website, as well as to some of the most elite Warhawk players - though this did not guarantee one would receive access....

Those gamers anxious to see what Naughty Dog has been spending their time on were treated to an impressive surprise at this year’s Comic-Con. Seeing any additional footage or details concerning The Last of Us would have gone over well, but those in attendance (and watching at home) were introduced to Bill, yet another compelling survivor in the apocalyptic wasteland the studio has chosen for its backdrop.
