Well before Titanfall actually hit the Xbox One and PC platforms, developer Respawn Entertainment had put into place plans to support their online-only multiplayer game through downloadable content. They promised that some of the post-release content — modes, updates, gameplay tweaks — would be free, while the more substantial additions, like new maps and (potentially) new Titans, would come at a cost. At the time, however, DLC details for Titanfall were hard to come by, as the focus was placed on the game’s core elements prior to launch....

As one of the worst kept secrets in gaming, there hasn’t been much mystery surrounding plans to port the faux adventurer Nathan Drake and his past exploits to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console. Yes, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection may have been seen a mile away by many conscious gamers, but that doesn’t take away from the appeal of the compilation in anyway shape or form. Knowing the the gig was up, however, Sony has opted to show off what was likely going to be an E3 2015 reveal ahead of time....

Ever since the groundbreaking success of Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger theme song, every movie in the James Bond franchise has featured an original theme by a contemporary pop artist over the opening credits (except for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, which had a John Barry composition over the opening titles and a love theme in the middle of the movie). Some of these themes have become iconic, topping the charts upon release and remaining popular to this day, while others have been dreadful, hated on their movie’s opening weekend and then forgotten instantly....

When one talks about some of the best action RPGs of the modern generation, it goes without saying that Horizon Zero Dawn would be an inevitable part of the conversation. The much-awaited title by Guerrilla Games was bound to leave everyone reeling with its incredible world, brilliant combat, and some truly unique enemies that were an absolute treat to fight. Horizon Zero Dawn might not have pushed the envelope to its fullest extent, but there’s no denying the fact that it truly is one of the most unique games out there....

The fan-favorite Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise first hit consoles in 2006, with the sequel following quickly in 2009. 10 long years later and the third game is finally here, though things have changed for the franchise. While we were hoping to hear more about the recently announced Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order at this year’s E3, it was shadowed a bit by the first look at Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers....

Godzilla is known as the King of the Monsters and for good reason. For over half a century, Godzilla has taken on a lot of opponents. Many kaiju have fought against him and only a few of them have truly won against him. With his enormous size and great strength, Godzilla is a truly a fearsome kaiju. He has a long list of enemies and has teamed up some of them from time to time....

There are some great games out there. The Witcher series, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Dark Souls are just a few that fans have gone nuts for. These games stood above others as some of the best over the years. There are these games, and then there are the ones that don’t quite meet the expectations of the player base. These games were promised to do great things, reach places unknown, yet failed to amuse the masses and ended up fading into the unknown....

When a game is as large and ambitious the those of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, there’s bound to be a lot of glitches to see. As each entry has become larger in scope and scale, the number of present glitches has scaled appropriately. With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla around the corner, it’s worth checking out the previous titles and how ridiculous these bugs have turned out. A majority of the glitches have to do with Assassin’s Creed Unity, although the other games have also brought their own memorable contributions....

Given the sheer volume of new massively multiplayer online games released every year, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that so many of them end up in the MMO graveyard prematurely. Over the last decade, plenty of games have come and gone with some barely surviving long enough to leave even the faintest of marks on the gaming landscape. That said, there are one or two success stories as well....

Most people assume that the JRPG genre is slowly dying out since people perceive the combat and structure of these games to be a product of the past and unable to evolve with the times. However, modern releases like Persona 5 and Dragon Quest XI have quite definitely proven this statement to be completely false. JRPGs are more than capable of making most of the latest technology and innovations to deliver an experience that can be truly sublime, and the fact that these games have witnessed a high level of sales proves once and for all that the fanbase certainly won’t let the JRPG genre become obsolete any time soon....

The great thing about RPGs is how much control they give the player in crafting a character to their tastes. From customizing their character’s appearance, to what abilities their characters can possess to what could be considered its most popular feature, giving the player the option of who to romance. People have their own taste on who they want to romance and gamers are no exception to this rule. Many RPGs have given the player a variety of characters to romance regardless of sexual preference....

Rockstar was established in 1998 but was at one point known as DMA Design which was established in 1987. They put out many different games under the DMA Design name including Uniracers, Space Station Silicon Valley, and even the original Grand Theft Auto before turning into Rockstar North. Many know the developer for their Grand Theft Auto series or the recently released Red Dead Redemption 2 but they have many other great games aside from those two franchises....

The Fairy-type was only added to the Pokémon series recently, introduced in Generation VI. It brought with it a handful of new Pokémon that were of the Fairy-type, but it also caused a few Pokémon from past generations to be reclassified to it. This was said to be a result of in-universe researchers not realizing the type existed until Professor Sycamore did, causing many to realize Pokémon like Clefairy were wrongly typed....

2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 stands as one of the finest entries in the long running franchise. What a pleasant surprise, then, to find out Beenox remastered the game for modern platforms, giving fans a chance to relive all the bombastic set pieces, shocking twists, and brilliant missions. Modern Warfare 2: Campaign Remastered comes with plenty of changes, ten of which are listed below and should be of particular interest to those who have yet to pull the trigger on a purchase....

Demon’s Souls originally launched in 2009, with tons of roadblocks and issues impeding its way onto the scene. Once the game was officially released, fans couldn’t get enough of its fast paced combat, unique controls, and enthralling world. The world of Demon’s Souls has been explored in great detail since the game’s original release and even more so recently with the PS5 remake. Even though there were a lot of questions fans thought would get answers, it seems that the remake has only brought more mysteries than solutions....

Microsoft says that a record 120 million people logged time on their Xbox in the final quarter of 2022, a number that sets a new record for the company. The Xbox record was confirmed during Satya Nadella’s second quarter earnings call this week, with the Microsoft CEO also noting that there were some other notable records for the Xbox division. “We saw new highs for Game Pass subscriptions, game streaming hours, and monthly active devices....

Six actors, excluding the non-canon takes in Casino Royale (1967), have put on James Bond’s tux and holstered his Walther PPK. That number will only grow as future film adventures unfold. In fact, the search is already on for the next 007 following Daniel Craig’s departure. However, as many performers have taken on Bond himself, there are even more who have filled the role of the dastardly villain trying to bring him down....

It’s hard to overstate how much I love RPGs. I love the robust character creation, the engaging mechanics, the beautiful stories, and the expansive worlds. But I have to admit something. Sometimes, I get a little tired of all the fantasy titles the genre is clogged with. You can hardly look at the RPG tag on Steam without being buried by bikini elves or grim-faced armor dudes. If I see another title like “Realms of Realmlore” I’m going to go feral....

It’s no secret that to keep up an annual release cycle for the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft has relied on multiple teams to share the load, not simply the Montreal-based studio that created the series. With Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, seven studios from around the world are working together to portray the Golden Age of Pirates. Keeping hundred of designers separated by thousands of miles on the same track is a tall order, but one that will ultimately determine if Black Flag is s success or failure....

Batman: Arkham City is easily one of the most anticipated games of this year - with each new trailer, playable character, and gameplay detail serving to raise our expectations further for the game’s October release. After a Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition was teased a week ago, it shouldn’t surprise that the details of that package (most of them, anyway) have been announced. Here’s the official word on the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases of the collector’s edition (no word yet on a PC edition)....
