Cyberpunk 2077 is almost here. The futuristic open-world game was delayed from its original spring 2020 launch, but it has only been moved back a few months to September, opening the doors to Night City, a sprawling metropolis from the studio of CD Projekt Red. If Cyberpunk 2077 is anything like The Witcher 3, the studio’s last big-budget release, gamers are in for a treat. The world of Night City looks amazing, bringing gamers into a cyberpunk dystopia like this for an experience that promises to be story-driven and unique....

The latest big money event hosted by popular content creator MrBeast has finished, and the winner walked away from an intense game of Among Us with a $100,000 grand prize. In a tournament filled with pro-level players like Sykkuno, as well as the usual suspects of popular gaming YouTubers, the added prize money raised the stakes beyond what even the biggest Among Us fans are used to. This kind of event isn’t uncommon for Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, as the YouTuber has built a brand on hosting tournaments and challenges with cash stacks on the line....

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 is still a few hours away from getting into full swing, but that’s not stopping DICE’s Battlefield 3 from delivering some high-octane multiplayer action with a brand new trailer. Showing off some of Operation Metro, a suburban warzone set to look strikingly like Paris, this glimpse of the game is filled with guns blazing, grenades popping, and - as the trailer likes to remind you — a good reason why it won choice awards at E3 this year....

The next DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has arrived. Titled Uprising, this newest map pack brings with it four new multiplayer maps and a new zombies map. While it’s not as bountiful as Black Ops 2’s first DLC pack, Revolution - which offered an additional weapon and a new Zombies mode along with 5 new maps - there’s still a lot to like about Uprising. And, as with Revolution, we’ve created a walkthrough for each of the four multiplayer maps to give players a sense of their layout and what type of combat opportunities each presents....

Following a lukewarm third outing, the Dead Space series may be adrift in the abyss, but it isn’t dead yet. The last survivor of survival-horror, EA’s limb-shredding actioner downed tools and ditched its crew earlier this year to enter a prolonged period of cryosleep. With franchise founders Visceral Games moving on amid rumors of creative differences (read- EA’s monetization-based meddling) will we be seeing a return to necro-controlled space any time soon?...

It may be the dog days of summer, but the developers of Dead Space 3 are doing everything they can to put an icy chill through gamers’ hearts. The newest dose of screenshots give yet another look at the Necromorphs intent on turning Isaac to mulch, and the new spacesuits and custom weapons that will keep that from happening. Obviously in a survival horror title (or action-horror, but let’s not get into that) the atmosphere and tone of the game world and its inhabitants are responsible for the majority of the terror players will experience....

DmC: Devil May Cry had an uphill battle almost from its very first screenshot. With fans voicing their outrage over the redesign of hero Dante, many thought that Devil May Cry would have a tough time recovering, let alone finding success. Yet, there lurked behind it all a sneaking suspicion that developer Ninja Theory would be able to deliver something unique and fun. After all, if Capcom was willing to give them free reign to redesign Dante, perhaps they had given them the opportunity to design a game that met Ninja Theory’s expectations....

Microsoft came out swinging this year during its E3 press conference, showing off a ton of upcoming titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Gears of War 4. The company also delighted gamers with a number of surprising announcements from a new customizable elite controller to the announcement that the Xbox One was becoming backwards compatible, gaining the ability to play approved Xbox 360 games. Halo 5: Guardians was another one of Microsoft’s big titles at E3 2015 this year, as the game received a lot of stage time during its press conference....

With the botched release of The Master Chief Collection seemingly behind us, Microsoft and 343 Industries now have their sights firmly set on the release of Halo 5: Guardians. The game’s marketing campaign is being set into motion, and now we know this Sunday will see the unveiling of a live action trailer, which might just give us some hints about where the story of the Halo franchise is headed....

X-Men? Crossed out. The Avengers? Still needing to avenge our broken dreams after diverting to Kinect and the Wii U. Iron Man 3? That striking iron is subzero after the first two games, even as a potential movie tie-in. No, despite heavy speculation on all three titles (with The Avengers procuring the most desire) after Marvel and High Moon Studios announced a partnership with Activision last week, teasing the reveal of a new game on July 14 at San Diego Comic-Con, the real identity of the project is one almost nobody saw coming: Hit Monkey, a video game adaptation of the young Marvel comic book series....

There’s two things that distinguish an inFAMOUS game from the onslaught of third-person, open world action titles that have flooded the market in recent years: truly satisfying superpowers, and the opportunity to use those powers for heroic ends, or downright villainous ones. With inFAMOUS: Second Son, those core concepts are still in place, but the arrival of next-gen hardware means both may be seeing significant upgrades. In the latest preview video, fans can feast their eyes on not just another dose of beautiful-yet-violent neon combat, but a brief look at how the moral choices of the game will result in different, but not necessarily polar opposite story paths....

On the cusp of E3 2015, Sony has surprisingly been able to keep virtually all of its secrets under wraps, something that can’t be said for most of the other presenters scheduled for E3 week appearances. With the exception of rumors that Mark Cerny is helping to finish The Last Guardian, only already confirmed games such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are known factors for Sony’s press conference. However, recent domain name registrations for something called Horizon by Sony studio and Killzone developer Guerrilla Games opens the door for the possibility of an exciting brand new IP reveal to take place during the event....

When Gears of War 3 came out, it surprised many of us for sneakily including a microtransaction system where players had to pay for measly weapon skins - you know, the stuff that’s built into other shooters that we shouldn’t have to pay for. The real problem with that money grab attempt was that Epic Games priced each weapon skin at absurdly high amounts, that when combined with the DLC Season’s pass cost games a fortune....

It’s quite amazing to see how much Mojang’s blocky-but-addictive creative sandbox game Minecraft has evolved since its original release in 2009. Take a walk through a randomly generated world today and you’ll find a hell dimension called the Nether, dragons and mysterious Endermen and even jungles full of ocelots and kittens. The recent 1.6 Minecraft update included the introduction of horses and donkeys that can be saddled and ridden or used to transport itmes, as well as new blocks including hardened clay, straw and coal blocks....

Global gaming and lifestyle brand, Razer, has opened the floodgates, releasing a plethora of new gaming products and accessories for gamers (or otherwise) to get their hands on this summer. So far, we’ve seen incredible headphones, heavy-duty laptops for creators and gamers on-the-go, and high-quality gaming mats that can pretty much fit on desks of any size. Now, we get our first glimpse of its latest keyboard with the Razer Ornata V2 hybrid keyboard....

Sega continues to be a major publisher in the video game industry. But many may not be aware that Sega also has another successful business, which is its thriving pachinko business. In Japan, pachinko exists as a sort of loophole in the country’s strict gambling laws. And up until now, Sega’s video game and pachinko efforts have been housed within the same organization. That’s apparently changing, however, as Sega’s video games and Sammy’s pachinko games will now be housed in different companies....

Today’s chef special in the gaming industry seems to be of the zombie infection (Left 4 Dead, The Last of Us) or natural disaster (I Am Alive) variety, but there used to be a time — or several times — when a cyborg insurrection (Terminator, anyone?) was item number one on the menu. We were a Walking Dead game away from forgetting the taste until Demiurge Studios came through on their intent to develop Shoot Many Robots....

Ethan Carter is a young boy who’s seemingly aware of the supernatural. He’s a fan of paranormal detective Paul Prospero and so when he goes missing under strange circumstances, it’s up to Prospero to discover where Ethan is and what happened to him. Or so it would all seem. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, developed by The Astronauts and published by Nordic Games, is one of the most interesting narrative experiences of 2014 and certainly one of the most beautiful....

The release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has once again introduced gamers to a colorful world full of fruit, bugs, fish, and all your favorite animal pals. Fan favorites, like Pietro and Egbert, are met by new introductions, like Audie the Wolf, each bringing their own personalities and flavor to players’ island oases. For too long, though, these animals have been playing second fiddle (or guitar, but we’ll get to that in a second) to the player character....
