For whatever reason, translating movies to video games (and vice versa) seems to produce some dicey results. While there are some gems, many attempts at this cross-over lead to duds, regardless of whether or not the source material is of quality. But what about TV shows? There have certainly been plenty of stinkers on this front as well. All one needs to do is hearken back to those crude early South Park games or the awful Celebrity Deathmatch fighter for evidence....

The Dark Souls series is one that keeps on giving. Since its launch back in 2011, fans have gone over the series with a fine-tooth comb and found some interesting things through the years. Fans have been waiting patiently for years for any word on the revival of the Pikmin franchise. Word on Pikmin 4 seems to still be a ways away, but the recent release of Pikmin 3 Deluxe makes this wait a little more bearable. Pikmin has remained one of the quirkiest real-time strategy series of all time and it’s also turned out to be a surprisingly beloved Nintendo property. After an initial flood of information regarding Assassin’s Creed 3 it’s been slow going for the past couple weeks. Though there have been details revealed here and there what gamers have really been clamoring for is some good old fashioned gameplay footage. As it just so happens Ubisoft has that gameplay footage ready and raring to go, they just need fans help in order to unlock it. All one needs to do is head on over to the Assassin’s Creed 3 Facebook page and complete three different tasks in order to add to a global total....

A few months back, some rumors on Twitter suggested that Assassin’s Creed Unity would include a co-op narrative experience unlike anything the franchise had offered stealth action fans before. Chatter around the co-op mode faded over the last month and then re-emerged this morning when the crowd outside E3 2014 spotted the above banner putting the focus on multiple protagonists. Gameplay footage demoed during the Xbox presentation this afternoon confirmed that Unity will offer players a chance to team up with up to three friends for a full co-op narrative experience....

When it comes to video game leaks, it seems like the Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty franchises are neck and neck in the battle over who has it worst. And coincidentally, both series are about to release their latest iterations in less than two weeks time. For Call of Duty, the leaks have been fast and furious, with players detailing whole swaths of the Advanced Warfare’s campaign and revealing the game’s full multiplayer map list....

We had hoped that New York Comic-Con 2013 would bring us more details on Batman: Arkham Origins, and Warner Bros. haven’t disappointed. Over the past month there has been a significant amount of Sturm und Drang surrounding Battlefield 3’s apparent graphical inconsistencies across its various console iterations. While the PC version – the version gamers have been seeing in the majority of the game’s jaw dropping trailers – is going to deliver the visuals gamers expect, the console versions, most notably the Xbox 360 version, will need a little extra effort in order to even come close....

With no mainline Battlefield title set for 2015, it falls to the police-based Battlefield Hardline and the much-anticipated Star Wars Battlefront to make sure that fans don’t forget about the series in the meantime — and, since Battlefront isn’t set to hit shelves until the fall, Hardline is EA’s big FPS hope for the majority of the year. To that end, it’s clear that everything possible is being done to make sure that Hardline makes up for the poor experience that many fans had with Battlefield 4....

One of the main selling points of Project Spark is the ability to create pretty much anything that comes to mind. Those that are especially talented with the game’s creation tools can cook up a wide variety of different video game experiences spanning countless genres. However, many choose to pay homage to games that already exist as opposed to creating their own original adventures. The music genre has developed so much over the past couple of years, sometimes it’s easy to forget the good old days where dance gamers were played using plastic pads with arrow buttons. Harmonix’s Dance Central and the upcoming new and improved Dance Central 2 have blown Kinect owners away with full body motion detection - resulting in more realistic (and sometimes more awkward) dancing. The future depicted in Deus Ex: Human Revolution can be a scary place. People walking around with various augmentations that can make them able to shove someone’s head through a concrete wall with ease tend to be intimidating. There has been a fair share of Deus Ex: Human Revolution gameplay footage and trailers which delve into the game’s story, with one focusing on the protagonist Adam Jensen, whose role players assume through the game’s single player campaign....

Although Techland’s zombie smasher Dying Light has reviewed quite favourably (including our own review which said it was frustrating but showed potential), the game has been hit with criticism in several other areas. At first, fans were disappointed to learn that physical copies of the game outside of the United States had been delayed past launch due to production delays. Then, eyebrows were raised as developer Techland chose to feature a quote from popular YouTuber PewDiePie on a Dying Light promotional poster, despite the fact that not only was his positive comment in reference to a preview build that Techland debuted two years ago but there are suggestions that it was paid for too....

One week today, the more-than-five-year-wait for a new Ghost Recon game comes to an end when Ubisoft releases Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on consoles (and a few weeks later on PC). With a push towards third-person action and a greater emphasis on story, characters and co-op play, Future Soldier aims to offer an experience that’s different and more tactical than the typical shooter affair. To introduce a little background to the story of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ubisoft released the Ghost Recon Alpha short film yesterday, a 25-minute live-action movie that serves as a prequel to the game, and today, the official gameplay launch trailer picks up right where Alpha left off....
