If there’s one area in which BioWare has managed to distinguish their Dragon Age series, it’s building a fictional world overflowing with rich history. Obviously that’s something they hope to continue with Dragon Age: Inquisition, and information on the new locations set to be unveiled in the team’s largest open world thus far is coming quickly. The latest screenshots put the Fortress of Adamant into the spotlight, and hint that the former Grey Warden stronghold will play a pivotal role in the Inquisitor’s journey....

Evolve’s launch has been overwhelming. Although the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter came under fire for certain content strategies, including a day one DLC storefront that held a whopping $136 in downloadable content outside of the game’s season pass, the Turtle Rock shooter has been successful on release. The title has faced a few critical looks amongst the positives, particularly concerning was a large day one patch how likely it is that the game will have replayability, but the players themselves seem to be happy with the highly anticipated title....

And after playing it ourselves, it’s the most surprising side of Far Cry 4 that we have yet to see....

If you’ve yet to hear about Lollipop Chainsaw then you aren’t alone, but we guarantee that after seeing this new trailer for the game you certainly won’t forget it. From the mind of Suda 51, who most recently delivered the very weird Shadows of the Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw can best be described as a combination between Dead Rising and No More Heroes. From what we know of the game so far, Lollipop Chainsaw appears to be more of a hack and slash title than the traditionally slower paced combat gamers experienced with Grasshopper Manufacture’s previous efforts....

The hot video game topic of the month sadly dwells on the negative and we’re of course referring to the controversy surrounding the conclusion of Mass Effect 3. Many fans - the majority of those who responded to our poll (see below) and who frequent the official BioWare forums - have been let down by how the incredible sci-fi series played out in its final moments. The disappointed has resulted in a rally to change the ending, a charity for good cause, and responses from BioWare’s leadership about addressing the end game content with DLC....

The Rabbids, erstwhile Rayman associates and purveyors of a particularly absurd brand of anarchy, are back in a new mini-game collection for the Xbox 360. As expected, it has been officially confirmed by Capcom that Resident Evil 6 is in development and is targeting a release date of November 20, 2012. While it might come as a shock to some that this year would be overloaded with so much Resident Evil content, including another feature film, this is really the game fans have been looking forward to for a lot of reasons. Being a true numbered Resident Evil sequel, this sixth entry will pick up some ten years after the incident in Raccoon City and star both Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield (the key protagonists from Resident Evil 4 and 5 respectively) as they work to stop two different bioterrorist attacks....

Depending on your point of view, Ewoks are either adorable woodland critters or one of George Lucas’ biggest mistakes. Teddy bear combatants with an eye for a trap, these forest-dwelling freedom fighters are now available for play in Star Wars: The Old Republic’s latest 2.3 patch. Appearing in the ‘Cartel Bazaar’ region of the in-game fleet, ‘Treek’, a female Ewok Bounty Hunter is the latest companion to be made available for the lightsaber swirling RPG....

Since being announced at E3 in 2013 by Ubisoft, The Division has been a standout and continues to be one of the most anticipated games wherever it’s being shown. 2015 has been an equally busy year for Massive, as the developer of this ambitious RPG shooter announced that the game had been delayed into Q1 2016 and that Ubisoft Annecy had been added to the growing list of studios helping on the game....

As was revealed earlier today, ZeniMax Online is trying some interesting things with their forthcoming MMO, The Elder Scrolls Online — things like bringing back public dungeons. Another new feature, or a new goal, that ZeniMax has set out to accomplish with The Elder Scrolls Online is less of a focus on the UI. In a typical MMO, players spend a ton of time staring at their UI, looking at cool downs rather than actually focusing on what’s taking place in the game....

Our hopes for Forza Motorsport 5 went sky high after E3 2013, but motoring enthusiasts have a few more reasons to look forward to the Xbox One launch title - now that BBC series and magazine Top Gear provided a few more hints on how they’ll be helping shape the game experience. The latest trailer for Forza 5 confirms that the series’ tamed racing driver ‘The Stig’ will not only be featured in the game, but will be challenging players to best his lap times....

Over the past year, developer Telltale Games has fast established themselves as a premiere storytelling powerhouse due in large part to the success of The Walking Dead. They then followed hot on the heels of TWD’s success with The Wolf Among Us, yet another strong showing from a developer that, in the past, struggled to stay relevant in today’s market. It is because of those two titles, The Walking Dead most especially, that Telltale has been afforded new opportunities and partnerships, like their forthcoming Game of Thrones adaptation and Tales from the Borderlands....

Story-centric trailers for Blizzard MMO World of Warcraft are usually reserved for expansions to the game like Cataclysm or Mists of Pandaria, but on occasion a patch is special enough to warrant the cinematic treatment. The upcoming patch to WoW will be the last major content addition in Mists of Pandaria, so Blizzard is rolling it out in style. The Siege of Orgrimmar, or patch 5.4, focuses on Horde warchief Garrosh Hellscream’s final steps into all-out villainy....

The X-Men film universe may not be tied into the official Marvel Studios world, but that hasn’t slowed down the live-action Children of the Atom. The seventh installment in the comic book-inspired franchise is due to hit theaters this May and we can expect all the usual tie-in merchandise to arrive in time for the summer release. This time around, video game fans have something to look forward to, as well....

The magic of the world wide web has graced us with many things we get to see that would have been considered lost media today. Pokémon is no exception to this as, during the development of Red and Green for Japan, there were over 200 designs made for the game, but we know the Kanto region only consisted of 151 in the final version. But in 2018, leaks came out for the Pokémon sequels, Gold and Silver....

Persona 5 and subsequent additions to the series like Royal and Strikers have created a vast network for developers to utilize not only lore and character development, but also to have some fun with nuances and Easter eggs. Loyal players to the series will notice a great deal of overlap between the Persona games. This attention to detail and plot creates a string of continuity and permanence of characters that is not only fun to keep up with but creates a hunt for hidden details throughout the storyline and combat scenes....

Interestingly, the term Mordhau refers to a classic combat technique of holding a sword by the blade and striking the opponent with its heavy pommel. A tricky move, tough to pull off but very effective when utilized by a brilliant swordfighter. Triternion’s Mordhau, then, is a medieval-era action title with a heavy focus on historically accurate (to a degree) combat. Its fights are slower-paced, deliberate and quite technical (though it’s more than possible to charge in on the offensive), making for an experience that scratches a very specific itch....

Cyberpunk 2077 released on December 10th, 2020. Unfortunately it is not exactly a completed product. Underneath the many bugs, glitches, and controversies is a great game. Even ignoring the technical issues, the adventure is not what everyone hoped it would be. We do not know if CD Projekt Red will develop a follow up once the the dust has settled. If they do, below are ten things we sincerely hope they change or add....

Sword Art Online’s reach is so great that it can’t be contained merely to the anime world. The current series, Sword Art Online: Alicization, has proven so popular that it’s acquired its own video game. The game will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC on July 10th.
