“Walkers,” “Zombies,” “Zeds,” ‘Z’s," call them what you will, the undead are absolutely everywhere, outlasting fad status with the same shambling certainty that sees them overcome so many of their hapless humans foes. Of the many video games series that deal with these pesky gray ghouls, the Dead Rising franchise is among the most well known. Favoring slice n’ dice silliness over twisted social commentary, Capcom’s much loved maim-em-up returns to action this week, in the form of Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3....

Those looking for a return to the realm of Albion won’t have to wait much longer. Lionhead Studios was excited to showcase the first gameplay footage of the upcoming Fable Legends during the Microsoft E3 2014 press conference. Not only that, but there is a multiplayer beta for the Xbox One exclusive coming this fall, as well. The gameplay itself certainly looks enticing, with players being given the chance to team up in a gang of four heroes....

The more we’ve seen of Far Cry 3, the more of the game’s overall plot and mission structure is seeming to be kept under wraps. The newest look at gameplay sends protagonist Jason Brody into a burning mansion to save a damsel in distress, and promises that while Far Cry 3 may be a shooter at heart, that isn’t the only genre from which it will be taking influences. While Far Cry 3 will be trading the African plains of the previous installment for the lush and colorful jungle of the original Far Cry, that doesn’t mean that fans of fire propagation are out of luck....

Ever since Far Cry 3 became a runaway success and brought home multiple game of the year awards in 2012, gamers have been longing for the next feature-length installment in the action-adventure Far Cry universe. Enthusiasts have known that the fourth numbered installment in the series has been on the way for quite some time, but concrete details about the game have only recently started to roll out. A few months ago we learned that Far Cry 4 would take the series’ next protagonist to new heights in a Himalayan setting and earlier this week the developer revealed the game’s box art and a November 18 release date....

For months, rumours have been circulating that the rhythm games of five years ago are set to make a comeback in 2015. Last month, Harmonix officially announced Rock Band 4 — and now, Activision have followed suit with the unveiling of Guitar Hero Live. We haven’t seen a new Guitar Hero title since 2011, and this new installment looks set to change up the formula somewhat. Gone are the wacky, stylized characters; in their place, there’s video footage of the band that you’re performing axe duties for....

Rumors of what will be made by possible with next-gen consoles continue to run rampant, but one game that has already shown its potential is the PS4 exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son. The inFAMOUS franchise may not have the colossal clout of other PlayStation exclusives, but with a devoted fan base, and some truly impressive graphics, Sony is prepping it as a PS4 showpiece. With that in mind, two new editions of Second Son have been revealed today: the Limited Edition, coming to all those who pre-order their copies of the game, and the Collector’s Edition featuring replicas of several in-game items....

Since the Lego empire first made its surprising crossover into the world of games, the franchise has tackled some of the biggest IPs and genres available. From Star Wars to Lord of the Rings to Marvel Super Heroes; the Lego brand has something to offer just about every gamer. Let’s face it, although it was nice to see something from BioWare regarding the next title in the Mass Effect franchise, what EA had to show at their E3 2014 press conference was underwhelming. All we got were a few pieces of concept art and some brief quotes about the universe, before BioWare Creative Director Casey Hudson signed off with a, “We’ll have more to show you in 2015” message....

Hot on the heals of the Dead Island co-op trailer from Techland, Activision has unveiled a new video for their own co-op offering, Spec Ops, in the highly-anticipated Modern Warfare 3. Much like the prior installment, Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops will deliver a non-competitive online multiplayer experience - since the game’s campaign will remain a solo, single player, endeavor. That said, if the new Spec Ops trailer is any indication, Infinity Ward is definitely upping the ante....

With just a couple weeks left before release, Mortal Kombat X has been in the news quite a bit recently as tons of new information has been revealed about the title including new characters, added modes, and a slew of new features. Although the Saints Row franchise has been around for almost a decade now, a strong case could be made to say the series came into its own with Saints Row the Third. Matt Reeves’s 2022 film The Batman is one of the year’s most highly anticipated. Now that the dust has settled since the monumental release of the Demon’s Souls Remake on the PlayStation 5, many players have been able to play through this incredible game multiple times and have discovered many of this iteration of the legendary Souls game’s secrets. The Nintendo 64 was released in 1996 and was Nintendo’s first loss since entering the console market in 1984.
